Not necessarily. You dont need a glass Cannon on level 9 to do a, lot more Damage, just use the "right" weapons and Buffs (say level 3 Rogue with Arbalest and fitting alents) to go above 20 on average. Just dont expect tanks using Hatchets to do it. ^^

I saw that thread. However I do not want to know EVERY location of every "named" Weapon, i am looking for every "really good Weapon (named or not) early in the Game. I DO intend to explore a fine bit later on, just not too fond of wasting more time than necessary due to my ... problems with loading, see above. So: still thankful for more Info!

Simple as the title says. As I ahve lost a lot of potential Gaming Time due to the 32-bit-bug I want to reduce the time needed exploring to find the better Weapons. What I am asking you, who ahve not been thus handicapped by bad luck (and 32 missing bits in your Window piece ^^) is to edit the list with the following info: Weapon Type, Weapon Quality/Enchantments, where to get it, what needs doind (with as litlte spoiler as possible) to get it. All in Act 1 or at most early Act 2 (say everything before goijng "full" Defiance bay, so no long quests there, but going there is OK). Example: "Name" (forgot it^^): X Sword, fine, accuracy Bonus against Ghosts, Deflection malus, found by killing the Shades at the start of Odh Nuas Main hall. Thanks in advance

Isn't that the goal of every RPG ever? Improving your character by killing people? (and also looting their corpses and stealing their stuff, and maybe doing their stupid quests, but then also killing them for the loot and the exp and the amusement). Exactly, so: does it work with multiple/all "Companions"? My Evil Character (still to be built) will then definitely do it! ^^

Druid shapeshift duration bug?
Arkh`Cthuul replied to talharbash's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
You are correct, I must have imagined it....oO And on a Druid Test myself I ahve to say: it runs out to quickly, as some other people also wrote. -
Patch Notes: 1.03
Arkh`Cthuul commented on Darren Monahan's blog entry in Pillars of Eternity Support Blog
Cant find it in the list (unless the "Some Edge Configurations is it) but: is the 32-bit Loading=Crash Bug fixed too? Otherwise: impressive work for such short notice! -
I have a question regarding the "Go in with the Hood on and answer the Questions" Part. is it intentional that no Godlike will ever be able to complete this "must" Quest in any even remotely peaceful way? I mean I get that the are not allowed to wear regular headgear (whichc an be a rather strong disadvantage but I usually go fluff before Power). But a "Plot" item? So the qeustion: Bug or intentional? if Intentional, do any of you have another solution that does not require me to slaughter the Temples inhabitants?

As much as I am "pissed" at not being able to actually play the game far enough to experience Slotvanishing or Statdoubling (as I am stuck to atch the Game crash in 2+ out of 3 tries to travel) I would like to say: Take a deep breath, ladies and Gentlemen! its not really helping if you rip out your hair and run around screaming (and no, of course I also do not want to accept not being able to play a Game that I expected THIS much, and have been waiting for 2 years). It`ll just cause you to loo a lot like Pattrick Stewart afterwards. ^^ We have the almost fixed date for the Patch, now I am sure we`ll see some prelim. Patch notes soonish, and al(most al)l will be well. Until it isn`t .

Well, I went towards Defiance Bay as soon as I could move out of Gilded Vale at all, so yeah, thats probably it. Although the battles in the Cataombs prior to Woedicas Temple (including the Troll) were no trouble at all. While I am writing this. any possibility to get in "undiscovered with a Godlike 8as the Hood is, obviously, not useable)?
-
Let me clarify first that, as I had luck with the Loading Bug (that otherwise prevents me from palying afrom GIlded Vale onwards) for a few times, I did ... maybe run ahead a bit. Missed some opportunities to elvel? Or Loot? Also its my first Character Build (as I usually go with "Looks/sounds good" for a first paly through), namely a IntMaxxed DeathGodlike Cipher. Which is not optimized either. I have every Companion avaliable at this time in the party and am playing on normal. Now to the problem: I agreed to confront Nyrid. Once I do however hes tarts spamming pretty Crit-friendly AoE Spells while his GUards ignore the Tanks standing in/behind the Door to the room and run for my Priest and Cypher. Once they are dead its over pretty quickly. Now I tried various tactics, but a clearly strong Wizard and as many 8well armored and hence Graze-friendly) Guards seem too much for me to handle. Am I too early for the Quest (late Level 3)? Or did I miss an option allowing me to reduce the number of Guards? Or do you have other tips? Any and all useful answers are Much Appreciated!

Hmmm, giving them all different Lists SHOULD allow one to have just about every buff and Debuff simultaneously, or not? I know that effects applying to the same stats dont stack, but lets say all enemies are frightened, slowed, do less damage, and have reduced attributes vs. all PC`s are faster, stronger and do more SHOULD rock, no? Aside from the Summoning which will of course finish of most things ... pretty easy. ^^

Bonuses generally do not stack unless specified otherwise. A Design Choice I do not like very much but can accept as a way of minimizing the "Overpowering of anything by good Equipment". Items that grant the smae Bonus never stack, but obviously from the above Guide (if it is correct of course) Rings stack with Spells/Abilities. Simple as that.

Since I am (aside from the 32-bit-Bug) able to play the Game just fine with a slower Intel Core 2 Duo and a ATI 5750 I`d say: yes. After all your Card was one of the "Top of the Lone" of its TIme while GOG`s recommended ATI Card is a "budget reduced version" and the real Abilities of Cards ahsn`t changed that much in the last few years (aside from the most recent generations, say the last 1.5 years). However, I cannot guarantee that my assessment is correct.

Druid shapeshift duration bug?
Arkh`Cthuul replied to talharbash's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
No. It lists a duration at the ability (dont know your specific one as I am sure its duratio is, as all durations are, Intelligence-based). But in longer battles it CAN run out. Attention: As the "Crash at transition" bug prevents me from playing beyond a certain point (worked once for Gilded. W. but then crashed again) I can only assume what I saw on my brothers PC is still valid (2 days ago). if not: Sorry. -
Well if max. about ~3.xGB virtual memory is satisfying for you, but dont expect new applications in the entertainment/desktop area to be compatible a lot anymore... 32bit isnt uncommon, even 16bit and 8bit are not (Im working in microprocessor development) however it is not suiting anymore as a desktop system. Agreed, but then again 3.3 gig RAM and another 5 gig virtuak Memory have served me well enough in more or less recent games with a MUCH higher amount of Data (graphic-wise especially) without a hitch. Who would expect PoE, which while lovely designed is graphcally on the elvel of around 8-9 years ago mostly, to produce problems? I certainly did not.... Really? How did you do that? I did not find any "real" graphics options so far, so I am expecting a more indirect approach....
-
To put it as simply as possible: every time I try to travel there the ame crashes. I am aware that this might be one of the 32-bit-"problems", but honestly, 32 bit is not that rare, even today, and seeing that bug in a game I supported and wayted roughly 2 years for is ... vastly dissappointing. PS: I tried to attach the Bugreport but obviously I am not allowed to upload that types of files.... How long till we can expect a fix?
