  1. Just a note, I think the first two let you get away with siding with anyone. But I haven't tested the pirates one.
  2. You could create it anyways so that I have an excuse to be obnoxious by using the phrases, instead of properly responding like this time.
  3. Oh yeah, that was a weird one. I could only get them to agree to not fight if I went and killed everyone in Sakuya. I said no so they attacked. This was one of the ones I felt more conflicted about. It sounds like they had been living there and the Rauatai forcibly took over and messed stuff up, but I'm not really okay with murdering a town of civilians..
  4. You might not like the independent ending, but it is the safest companion wise. I think. I'm not sure if any take issue with it.
  5. Games are generally expected to be an improvement over reality... If i had 1 Euro for every guy ive met who is naturally lacking in eloquence id be rich. I dont want to spend money or my free time to listen to awful speakers repeating the same expression all the time especially if the main focus of the game is dialogue. (In the same way you dont want to play a racing game if the only available car is a honda civic and you have to stop at red lights) If I had a Euro for every time a German started a sentence work the word "genau," every time a Brit ended a rhetorical statement with "is/isn't it?" or every time an American interjected the word "cool," I'd be pretty rich too Cultures have linguistic quirks. I like games that improve upon reality as well, but that doesn't mean they can't borrow from it. It would be much more immersion-breaking if all of the factions spoke the same vanilla iteration of common, imo. I was listening to a podcast teaching German and the German lady said genau so frequently in such a way that it started to give me anxiety. Should I not be saying "cool?"
  6. I'm so sorry this is off topic, but why wouldn't Eric write Eder?
  7. Two games in a series and fake language terms are already clichéd lol. It started to really stick out and bug my brain about halfway through, especially with Tekehu. But it makes sense that the translation for "Yes" shows up everywhere and eventually my brain got used to it again. After which it sounded pretty natural.
  8. Are you new to the internet or something? You're not allowed to just like things on their own terms. You have to place them into some kind of internal top 10 list and then go aggressively searching for validation. Hahaha. Now I just want to seek validation for an extremely unpopular opinion.
  9. Officially, the game usually doesn't break no matter the order you go in. But then the quests and stories don't always make sense. I'm not sure what the best advice would be here. If it was me, I'd do a large large majority of my quests before Magrans Teeth.
  10. I did a loophole and I think the game wasn't prepped for it at the time - it may have changed by now. I think if you try to ally with someone and then back out once they tell you the cost /quest to do it, they try to kill you. Then you end up killing enough people trying to get out that it lands a huge blow to the faction you were talking with. *Then * you might be able to ally with who you want without having to do the nasty faction side quest, and that seems to sidestep the companion issue. In my game Pallegina and Maia stayed on my team, though Maia also completely failed to react to the fact that I technically killed the Hazanui. This was before a lot of patches, so I can't guarantee the result.
  11. I don't think Woedica is supposed to be evil (in the cliche classic sense). Her character shows the temperament and beliefs of dictatorship. An obsession with the power and control she has and a paranoia about losing it, a lack of respect for those under her control. A lot of the first and even second game is asking you whether it's better to have a dictatorship like this to keep people in line /have someone to (forcibly) direct them, or not. So Woedica's stance is that she wants to keep the power she has over kith. She definitely doesn't respect them and I don't think she especially cares about their well being. But she probably doesn't care what they do until it threatens her or becomes a nuisance, or brings kith too close to being equals with her. So Woedica hates animancy because it means that kith could discover the truth about the gods and have more power over the gods or have more power to be independent of them. She's probably not against other advancements *until it has the same effect. *. The moment it does, she's happy to do whatever it takes to dismantle that progress.
  12. I agree with that 100%! My only issue is you largely can't even bring it up when the conversation really feels like it it could go that direction. It's especially weird because you can bring up these issues to other companions while she's standing there, and it's like she doesn't even process the claims. She does the same thing when Eothas pretty much outs the gods for what they are. I don't mind if she won't change her mind despite evidence, that's a totally human reaction, I just wish there was *a* reaction.
  13. Can't you talk to them and trigger a fight without getting in trouble with authority and whatnot?
  14. *At this point *, I would say wait, because unless there's a delay you only have to wait two to three weeks. But obviously, you can do whatever you feel like.
  15. The talking sword is in the title? I guess it is.
  16. I actually have a hard time choosing. They all sound really cool and interesting and like there's a lot the developers could flesh out. It feels like The Valian Republics? Is that the name...? Or the Rauatai would be the obvious next choice. Or Old Valia. But I would be fine with Obsidian moving it somewhere else.
  17. I think that's a fair assessment, yeah. I suspect it hasn't been a focus for them, but that they're not actually against it. At least, not with the way they're portrayed in Deadfire. If it gives them some sort of advantage in their personal interests, I think the Rauatai would fully support animancy. Very similar to how they supported the Valian lady in her research because it helped them with the submarine.
  18. I did a marking-less portrait of a coastal aumaua if anyone wants to use it. I think I have to change its dimensions though. First POE portrait that I'm proud of. https://imgur.com/a/L0E0tXU Side question: Why can't I post images with the img = thing? It says I'm not allowed?
  19. Atsura probably reflects a part of his culture, but yeah, take all of his persuasive arguments with a grain of salt. He takes into account how you think/feel.
  20. I did 124 or something. I remade my character once shortly after I started and reloaded to try different branches of some of the conversations, and did most but not everything. The biggest loss of time was probably when I grinded through the old city to help the dude stuck there just to find out that I discovered the smuggler area too soon, so that everyone agro'd and every time I had to kill one I lost rep I didn't want to lose. So I had to reload way way back to not find the guy stuck in Old City. I did everything in 58 hours (and got accused of being a troll when I told people ). Well, you're probably trolling those people. If they got upset.
  21. As handsome mentioned in the other thread, it's implied Eothas did or does have them, too
