  1. The consensus here seems to be JA3 is as good as Omryn isn't.
  2. The real breakthrough will be LootBoxCraft. The game where the Loot collected by players and put into their player crafted stash/box, will then be exported into other games to be sold as loot boxes.

  4. Eh, I would say it is tied with "Not playing the Age of Barbarian Arena spin off game." If you ever see me suggesting someone should play it, you have irrefutable proof I dislike that person.
  5. I played through the first Age of Barbarian. They got the atmosphere of that era barbarian story down really well. Gameplay... Not so much

  7. There is a random event in one of the homes you can live, where your children hear noise from the basement and when you check it, there are skeevers. Your children help you kill the rats. So they are intentionally coded to fight and survive. Dragons are funny because they apparently are coded to insta die when attacking essential NPCs.
  8. Best thing in Skyrim is adopting children, have the AI pathfinding mess up so the child walks outside town and, being set to immortal in the game code for being a child, killing any monster it encounters. When I found where my daughter had ran off to, she had slain a dragon.

  13. I think Bethesda has given up on truly trying to address any problems. They know that the average console gamer doesn't care enough about details to notice that things are wrong, and among the PC gamer community anyone who does (or thinks they do) is going to download mods anyway. Why care about getting the most out of your graphics when the players that will complain are already planning to install Bodyslide, Caliente or turn all models into furries.
  14. Saints Row devs: "We need to fill this neighbourhood with small houses. Let's make one and reuse it. We can change the crap in the yard to make them appear different." Also Saints Row devs: "We need to write hints for the collectibles. Where is that flamingo statue again?" "West Providencia next to the front door of house number 217." "Cool, I'll use exactly that as the hint!" Saints Row player: "But every house is number 217!"
  15. In the new SR, if an npc is driving, you climb onto the roof and fire from there. It allows for a lot better aiming. It also leads to that funny scene where the npc tells you "You drive, I'll do the shooting from the roof thing!" and you react "That is not actually a..."
  16. The best thing about the new Saints Row is that they kept Insurance Fraud and the intro conversation is hilarious. SR3 was the most fun in the series. SR2 had the best story, but driving was so unfun, I would not replay it. Also, it was still semi-serious; a serious story with grotesque silly frills. SR4 was well written, but the superpowers made the gameplay trivial. Gat Out Of Hell was the best disney princess musical, but the worst SR game ever made. I am having enough fun with the new one, but I am missing things from 3.

  18. Saint's Row: The lack of strippers, while odd, doesn't actually bother me. The more touchy feely sitcom relationship between the characters isn't really a problem either. In fact, I like that they all have an opinion about many of Kev's exes, unlike with Shaundy, where the whole joke was "yet another ex". What does bother me is the day and night cycle which means that half your time in the game, the game world is completely empty. Why are there no parked cars at night? Do people take their cars to bed with them? In general, I find myself more and more wishing Devs would not do the day/night thing in their games. The odd stealting while the NPC is sleeping (not a thing in saints row, but thinking of elder scrolls) does not balance out the inconvenience of the rest of the night experience. The other thing I don't understand is why I can't do petty crimes anymore. What was wrong with running past people in SR3 and picking their pockets? What was wrong with the abductions of people in the cars you stole? What was wrong with streaking? The basis of how yo do these things were there in previous I. It couldn't have been that hard to do them again. So it feels like cut content.

  22. I am worried about badly written space vampires and space werewolves. Bethesda has a fetish for those things.
  23. Saints Row The Dustmoot, the LARP event you get roped into by one of the NPC's is fun. The concept is the event is played across the whole city and virtually everyone except the player character knows about it, is super excited, and participates. So if you use larp weapons outside the missions, anyone you meet will still get the rper overacting death animation, possibly with a line like "the light leaves my eyes..." I like the concept of the swat team returning to the police station and saying "sorry, we couldn't arrest them, they killed our dustmoot characters".
