The only benchmark I have any faith in whatsoever is the one Dr. Lisa Su showed during the Zen 3 reveal for the RX 6??? (X?T?), with the caveat that the conditions used to generate said benchmark were almost certainly set to be as favorable as possible for the RX 6??? (X?T?) 4 more days and we'll finally get some concrete information, though, as always, have your trusty 55 gallon drum of salt handy for any benchmark preseted by AMD themselves.

I would assume Firestrike is still a somewhat accurate representation of raw rasterization performance, even if it is outdated. The legitimacy of those numbers, on the other hand, I very much question.

I was going to play Amnesia: Rebirth, but the game's a mess on Linux right now. It's surprising, since Frictional Games has a history of great Linux support, but oh well, I'll wait until it's sorted. For now it's Yakuza Kiwami and The Outer Worlds soon.

Good thing the presentation is only a few days away, because the sheer volume of all these Big Navi rumors is dizzying.

The doom & gloom talk is just typical click bait. Intel is far too wealthy, powerful, and full of talent. Sure, they got complacent during AMD's Bulldozer Dark Age then ate a nasty left hook from Dr. Lisa Su, but they'll get back up, shake the cobwebs out, and get back in the fight. An Intel with their backs against the wall is the best Intel. I don't think Rocket Lake is the big comeback. On the one hand, it's based off the new Willow Cove architecture, which is exciting, if for no other reason than it's not Skylake yet again. However, Rocket Lake will be hamstrung by still being on 14nm (+++++++++++). Hopefully the successor to Rocket Lake is on 7nm (Intel should just skip 10nm on the desktop at this point) and that's where Intel comes back strong. AMD is showing no signs of slowing down, so maybe, just maybe, we can get a golden age where we have a strong Intel and a strong AMD simultaneously. That would be awesome.

Doing some research, it seems the LG C9 and CX already have full HDMI 2.1 support, though, while the C9 has the full 48 GB/s bandwith, it for some reason doesn't (officially) support freesync, only g-sync. The CX does officially support both freesync and g-sync, but only has 40 GB/s bandwith, which shouldn't make a difference but is still a weird design choice, given that the previous model has the full 48 GB/s. The Sony X900H recently rolled out the first of its firmware updates which adds most (but not all) of the HDMI 2.1 features. 48GB/s with 4K@120 Hz as well as eARC, VRR is coming in a later update. The biggest pros in favor of the LG CX are 4 HDMI 2.1 ports vs 2 for the Sony X900H and deeper blacks for the LG, since it's a OLED. On the flip side, the Sony X900H is $500 cheaper, meaning that with the difference in price I could buy a 5950X instead of a 5900X and still have enough left over for cocaine and hookers...

The 3090 is right there, it's got 2.4X the VRAM for only 2X the price. Think of the value!

The 3080 just came out and there's already panic that it's insufficient?

^ Victorian Era androids? Color me interested.

Hypothetically, I'm slightly disappointed by the alleged cancellation of these theoretical cards.

Well, for one thing, it's $500 more than the Sony X9000H. I'm probably going to be doing my monitor/TV shopping around Black Friday/Cyber Monday Week, so there's still plenty of time for the landscape to change, I just like to monitor (pun intended) the situation.

I'm still waiting for these mythical HDMI 2.1 monitors to hit the market. I think there are 1 or 2 out in the wild, but not the size and specs I'm looking for. ASUS is supposedly going to put out a 43" 4K HDMI 2.1 monitor at some point. No word on price yet. I'm also considering a Sony X9000H 4K TV. I'm not sure if they've put out their promised firmware update with HDMI 2.1, VRR, etc. but you figure they'd do it around the time PS5 launches so they can cross promote the 2 products.

Interesting. Not my type of game (I SUPER DUPER suck at real-time micro-heavy gaming), but I know we have some RTS fans here and this is a SEVERELY underserved genre. On the other hand, it's also a genre that has been shown to sell poorly recently, which I'm sure is no small part of the reason no one makes these games any more. Best of luck to them.

Amnesia: Rebirth. In a related story, I just did laundry to make sure I have plenty of clean underwear on hand. -
What if the video game news was never random? Anyway, here's a trailer:

Which QFG had the Arabian Nights setting? (2 or 3 I think) That was my favorite one. As an aside, where are the Arabian Nights games? Since Prince of Persia we've had... ... ... ...

Scalebound is the first one that comes to mind, mainly because it was being developed by Platinum Games, and I'm a big fan of theirs. I concur about Prey 2. Sure, we got a "reboot" instead that has nothing whatsoever to do with the original, but is a good game, however I still really wanted to play Prey 2. I'll also throw Star Wars 1313 out there. I personally didn't care since my inner Star Wars fan died a long time ago (in a galaxy far away), but it was a high profile cancellation a lot of people were devastated about. P.S. When can we put BG&E2 and Star Citizen on this list? /hides

The name was chaged because there already existed a board game called Hero Quest.

I've never seen @Guard Dogand @the_dog_daystogether at the same time in Naughty Dog studios. Something to think about.

It's more comparable to the escape sequence from Metroid, though it's not timed (perhaps on hard mode?)
