  1. Completionist here. First playthrough. I read and listen to everything. I try to search and pry every nook and cranny there is. I passed level 3 with my main at like hour 11. Personally, I love this slow levelling pace.
  2. This is just a short write-up of my praise after ten hours in the game. So, I had been waiting for 2,5 years for PoE (and many more years at that for a game like this), and did Obsidian deliver? Yes, in spades! It's absolutely fantastic!! I'm a completionist and I play at the Path of the Damned difficulty. I've talked to all NPCs, I scour the areas, read all books and narrative, and the story is simply outstanding and truly fabulous! It's mature, complex and a nice level of semi-high fantasy. I really care about the intrigue and the story threads that I get to unravel (as opposed to WL2 and DA:I, where my care-cup isn't even half-full). Thank you, Obsidian! As for combat, I decided to go auto-x2 slow and I have never looked back since. It's exciting and sometimes frustrating and difficult. The monsters and encounters are varied and very cool, in spectacular areas. For a low level CRPG, it's the best CRPG in this regard, ever! As a whole, the gamet feels like an upgraded BG for the 2010s, and it's an improvement in so many ways. I feel like giving it 98/100. There, done! Superb!!

  3. @blindhamster: You're a good person. Btw, a few seconds ago, I got truly desperate and pressed "Play" on PoE in the download section of Steam after that little download today. And for like half a sec, it began unpacking, and then... "Can't play right now. The game is still encrypted"! It even recorded it as play time, hehe.
  4. During the KS, at the $50 tier and above, a Digital Fun Pack was part and parcel of most deals- and it didn't include either alamanac or strategy guide (nor the digital collector's book): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidian/project-eternity/description IIRC, it was never clarified what it contained in detail. Pictures of it shows digital world map, soundtracks, some app, wallpapers, and stuff.
  5. Isn't the Digital Fun Pack just some simple digital tidbits, like a dorky Tetris and a weird calculator and stuff? I never thought it meant those guides and almanacs bunched up.
  6. Excited doesn't even begin to cover what I feel right now! It's more of a religious magnitude, like an epiphany, with clarity and dignity shoved into my brain stem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBZ7AfZR9xs#t=11
  7. I see. I just asked about this in the key thread. I should have read this thread first.
  8. Oddly enough, I have only the game keys, but none of those guides, almanacs and other products. Are they put on hold, as they are potential spoilers and such?
  9. I'm preloading now. 35% finished already. Yay! EDIT: ...and done! Preload completed. It was only 18GB, so smaller than WL2. This feels good - sitting on the game of my dreams. Store page says: "Available in 1 day and 11 hours."
  10. I feel like being honest: I'd much rather get to download a few of the game documents, like that guide and that almanac right now than preloading (It's not that urgent). Getting the key is nice and all, but I'd like to get in the mood first, with some classy CRPG foreplay.
  11. I feared as much. I really hope that they can recreate what made those games great, and still make it relevant today. A pretty tall order.
  12. Another stellar part of this PoE KS documentary we're all craving to get our hands on! I loved it. Period.
  13. Henceforth, this thread will be known as the temple of spoiler evil.
  14. Hopes for today: -Key -Preload -Staying alive for a few days more
  15. "Sure. I can tell you that keys give you keygasms. Just hand it over, will you?"
  16. Good luck, folks! It took me over eight months to finally settle on my first.
  17. @Wespenfresser: What a lovely trio of portraits! Thank you for sharing them! I'll most humbly and merrily go ahead and peruse your Aumauan portrait for my first-playthrough character, because it fits perfectly for the role I want her to be filling. I've followed Karkarov's instructions on how to import portraits, so I've already tried it out in the beta. And by the way - *Ouch!* - your name suggests an appetite for some stingy buggers!
  18. Oh, it's going to be like that, is it? At the start of the game, you get to create your own character! Yes, your very own, and it's an important choice in itself... *Dark-clothed silent men with baklavas barge into my room and sweeps me away in a straight jacket, after having gagged me and blind-folded me. Apparently, I've said too much.*
  19. Perhaps this spoiler warning of Sensuki's was too spoilerish, and so it has begun...
  20. Yeah! I also feel it's high time for our great mods to step up and bring out the big bad broom and sweep this forum free from any spoilers.
