We want a tarrasque type creature

Most good. -
To call them hostile is like calling Stalin, Ghandi. Although, if the game had a squid-like race I bet they would be all for tentacle rape sex. The Codex is like Ravel or Kreia or the witches from Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away. Yes, we hate and have a dark streak but in truth we work for good: good RPGs. We want the best for Obsidian. Maybe our best isn't always your best but we've played RPGs from the ancient ones to the modern ones and we know we haven't gotten one like we used to in decades. This is our ray of hope on the horizon. We're here to help, even if we may seem like enemies our intentions aren't wicked, even if our methods may be. This is your chance to do what you've always wanted to do, Obsidian. We're behind you, even if it means bruising a couple of egos along the path or collecting a few warning points here and there. ... Now don't **** this up!

Yes, Pixar is great if you like seeing the same movie over and over again because that's all they do. They have one formula and repeat it over and over. Their movies are designed by a spread-sheet in an industrial process, with no soul. The most condemning thing about them is that they put on a veneer of soul; an illusion of depth. But it's really all just a cold and calculated marketing ploy. There's no actual substance, no actual heart- it's all simulacrum. Up! should have ended after the first ten minutes.

I believe in Ziets and Avellone. -
But you couldn't have the romance part in MotB if the character hadn't already be designed with the entire concept in mind. Which means it flows organically from the characters conception. Which leads me to what I keep repeating over and over: if romantic love is part of a certain NPC we can maybe not trust Obsidian, but definitely can trust Avellone and Ziets to make it into something mature and respectful that isn't the immature ****fest or soppy happy hugging circlejerk that we don't want to see. Which basically means: there's 0 reason to ask for or demand romance or to even talk about it here. It'll be there if it makes sense for the characters to have it, but chances are if it does it'll be tragic in some way or at the very least extremely low-key, as Avellone and Ziets have demonstrated in the past. This whole endless debate is pointless which is why the "don't make romance threads" thing was one of the best directives that were in place. And it'll only flow from a character's conception if, and only if that particular expression of love is in line with the theme of the game and the world as, I can only repeat once more, we've seen Avellone and Ziets do before. I hate to say it, but just trust them and don't have these threads. It brings out the wrong kind of discussion.

Living world?

Gothic wasn't that great in this regard. Nothing ever topped Ultima 7. But of course it was better than nothing, which makes it better than most other games. -
Only MotB and PS:T had acceptable "romances". OC romances weren't good, but they were tolerable because they seemed to make fun of the player. Bishop pretty much rejects you, Casavir is a repressed piece of card-board, Elanee is a creepy mother-like stalker (horrifying) and so on. The only thing that should serve as a model is MotB or PS:T. But that's a given in the first place; there was no need for any of these threads.

I should add that you should be able to romance this creature. -
Because sexism only applies to women due to the oppressive patriarchy that we live in. It's sad, I know.

Don't worry, we can rely on Obsidian. They'd never end a game in an unsatisfying "rocks fall, everyone dies" manner. . . . -
You should choose your words more carefully you cis-gendered bigot. I bet you don't even raise your children gender neutrally.

Why do people have a thread like this when Obsidian gave us characters like Kreia, Ravel, Fall-From-Grace, Visas, etc., etc.?

Yes, that's fine but when you have that sort of discussion it'll attract the other kind as well. Believe me when I tell you the "haters" don't want ridiculous chainmail bikinis either.

I'd assume there's some wicked cool uber boss (entirely optional, hardest fight in the game) at the bottom of the 15-story dungeon. He may even change the ending slides. He should be so difficult that people complain about him being unbeatable and resort to cheating. (Because they're bad.) -
The gay furry romance option: a fuzzy friendly fellow who happens to be a Rogue and always wants to steal your pants.

Why should every game have romances? Does every film or book have romances? would film like The Treasure of Sierra Madre get any better if we would add romances into it? What about 2001: A Space Odyssey (both book and film), and what about The Thing by John Carpenter? Would it make games like Ultima 4-7 any better if companions of Avatar would be romanceable? Would it add anything to the story of Ultima 5 which is about oppression, moral absolutes and corruption of men (and women)? or Ultima 6 which is about racist prejudices and co-existance, and consequences of what you have done in the previous games? Does your whole life revolve around romantic relationships? if not, why should it in games? There are so many potential stories what are possible in Project Eternity without including romances. Did you read the lines: I'm not saying every relationshi[ in the game has to be romantic. What I am saying is that relationships drive the narrative and that romantic relationships have can drive the the narrative too. You mentioned 3 movies in your post - for those three, I gave you thousands that do include romantic relationships and are better for it - everything from Casablanca, the 39 steps (hitch**** original), to The Empire strikes back (... well,,, apart from the whole brother/sister kiss - ewww), The dark Knight (the dilema of bats chosing between his love and Harvey dent). I could list many more... My point still very much stands that NOT EVERY FILM, BOOK OR GAME HAVE ROMANCES SO WHY SHOULD THIS HAVE. We dont even know what the story will be, and I trust Obsidian's devs enough to let them make game they want, and not to include "Bioawre-romances", my problem is with the crowd who demands that they include romances no matter what. What if they make a story which doesn't support romance at all? should they just throw romances into it just because SOME people demands it even if it doesnt suit the main character? If it makes a more emersive, enjoyable experience, why shouldn't it? This is a role-playing game, emphasis on ROLE. The player 'lives' the life of their character. Life generally contains romance and realtionships, so we want our game character to experience those facets of life. Why should this game in particular? Because is a narrative driven game and narratives are driven by the relationships between people. Yes, not every game/book/movie, etc has romance, but it tends to be the exception rather than the norm, the reason being that romances usually enhance the narrative (see the examples I've already given). And WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? Because he's been repeating the same argument over and over without it ever being seriously challenged so he therefore correctly assumes you must be deaf. I read your post. You don't want a CRPG - you want a Japanese life sim. This isn't that kind of game. RPGs aren't about "experiencing facets of life". They are and have always been about killing ****, experiencing a cool story, exploring a new world and making numbers go up. They're about making meaningful choices, not petty life-simulation.
