  1. My wish would be open world-ishness. You know, just let the player roam free and discover new areas like in Baldurs Gate.
  2. Common! They must add another stretch-goal! With paypal accounted for they must be very near 3,6 milion!
  3. We discussed the role of money a bit in the thread about class struggle. If you have a currency system a few people will have a hell of a lot of money whilst the rest got nothing. And this leads to conflicts. And it would be great if the game could feature the conflict that the currency system gives rise to. But also other conflicts that have with property and landowning to do.
  4. Just back the project! It's awesome! And you gotta have some faith in the developers! They're the best in hte industry!
  5. went from 45$ to 130$ just now. we must get that second big city!
  6. What excactly is included in the 250$ reward tier? Is the expansion included? Will you get an extra digital copy of the game apart from the boxed version?
  7. Make it work more like the castles in the Stronghold game series. Then you can choose to be either a good or an evil lord depending on your preference. I think it's important that evil characters have the possbility to be cruel to their people.
  8. I havn't pledged yet. But I will, I havn't decided how much yet. But does this mean that I wont get access to the new dungeon? Because the update states: And since I havn't pledged yet I havn't helped Obsidian to come this far and thus I wont get the reward? I will be missing out on game content despite the fact that I will pledge?
  9. Yeah enough with the off topic! Let's us start talking about class struggle again
  10. As discussed in other threads Obsidan might be stressed by the fact that they plan a spring 2014 release. That's a very short development time. And that might hinder them to add bigger stretch goals with more content. So I was wondering how people would feel about waiting a bit longer for the game but in return get more content. I for one woul gladly wait until december 2014 or something to get more content. This is a good post on the topic:
  11. We've all been waiting a very long time for this; I, for one, would be fine with waiting just a bit longer Yeah! Who wouldn't?! I for one thought that a spring 2014 release was a bit to soon.
  12. Maybe that's the perfect idea to adress the problems brought up in agewisdoms post! If they wanna keep their initial release date then maybe they should include everthing else that is achieved by this kickstarter campaign in an expension pack. So that all stretch goals after 2,3 million have their content intended for the expension.
  13. Perhaps as a result, coins are made of materials that a wizard is unable to replicate for some reason, such as cold iron, or tapping a coin with cold iron causes it to lose the magical charge. Alternatively, a wizard's guild controls the money supply and guarantees the monetary value through some type of arcane binding. Yeah but why would a Wizard need currency? Why couldn't he/she just conjure up everything that he/she needs? If you are a wizard and need to eat, why don't just conjure up some food? And then they could conjure up food for the poor and that would ruin the economy. So they have to adress the relation between magic and currency somehow.
  14. I would like: *Modsupport *Being able to choose between real time and turnbased combat *Bigger gameworld *Being able to run you own stronghold (the mechanics for this would work as in the Stronghold games) *RPG/RTS-hybrid. (that you eventually can become so powerfull that you have your own armies and do warfare on a macro level (this would be optional of course)
  15. The problem with this campaign as I see it is the lack of far reaching and visionary stretch goals. The 2.2 million stretch goal is slowly coming about and then there is one at 2.3 million but what happens after that? To increase the amount of backers I think you need to have some more daring stretch goals at higher amounts of money to appeal to us to give more. Look at how Wasteland 2 did it. They had some stretch goals pretty far away (right from the begining) that they finally reached. For exemple, "if we make 3 million dollars the game world will be bigger than Wasteland 1". And if we make more than [insert huge amount here] we will include mod support on release. That was promises that really triggered people. Those goals made me dubbel my pledge. As it is now you get the feeling that all the goals are fullfilled or almost fullfilled and that there is no reason to increse your pledge or to nag on your buddies to also pledge. But if there was a bigger goal more far off for exemple, "if we reach 3 million we will make the gameworld bigger than Baldurs Gate 2", that is something that would really get people excited and increase their pledge. I know how a backer thinks. With Wasteland 2 I started with a pledge at 15$ but kept increasing it all the time because InExile kept adding cool and far away stretch goals so that I saw the necessity of me pledging more. I ended up pleding a hell of lot more than 15$ and I think that is something that could happen with this campaign as well if you start to talk about how the game could be if you reched 3 million, or 3,5 million or whatever. But as it is now when the highest stretchgoal is always just 100k away which gives you the impression that the game as you want it is almost fully financed and that there is now reason to pledge more. So please, be visionary and talk about what you wanna do with Project Eternity if you reach 3 million dollars or more! I have some suggestions for future stretch goals that would help getting people excited and to increase their pledges: *If we reach so and so you will be able to choose between turn based and real time combat *If we reach so and so the game will include more dialog than PlanescapeTorment *If we reach so and so we will add modsupport etc.
  16. Regarding RTwP vs. TB. Why don't you just add a stretch goal with the purpose of allowing the player to choose between RTwP and TB? So that each player can have his/her prefered game gameplay style.
  17. They also have to explain the relation betweeen magic and the currency. If there is magic, wouldn't a wizard then be able to conjure up as much gold as possible? They have to explain that. And if you can conjure animals and rise skeletons and stuff, how come you can't conjure up your own house with furniture etc. So they have to explain the relation between the existence of magic and currency. Why would a magican need money? They would also have to explore how the existence of money relates to the ingame societies class structure as discussed in this thread. The existence of money would make some people rich and others poor. And the rich would, by being rich, gain power over the poor and this fact makes the society a class society. And where you have class you have conflict (a great theme to be explored in the game). But that's the topic for another thread (this one).
