  1. While I would love information on the Collector's edition, the boxes themselves, the art book, and maybe even a hardcover of the novella, the only thing that could get me to pledge more at this point is official confirmation that they'll be accepting Paypal towards the reward tiers long after the Kickstarter is over. Otherwise, if I pledged more I might not be eating for the rest of the month. I might still do it anyway. Heaven help me.
  2. Ditto. Will you keep collecting Paypal donations after Kickstarter funding goes through? Thirding this question. I will double my pledge over the next year if I have a way to do it. I'm just tapped out for the month.
  3. I wouldn't mind a little power push in the beginning and have it build along with the story. I actually have the opposite problem as the one a lot of people who have already posted seem to have, I need some special trait to explain to me why I'm beating group after group of trained soldiers or what not. You'd think I would have caught a stray blade or something after ten or twenty tough battles. But I think Obsidian has already pointed out a mechanic to act as a compromise, the awakened souls. You could have 'the event' (don't think about the event) 'awaken' a bit of your soul/past lives thus granting you a power boost. The game could then give you further opportunities to increase your awakeness as part of the story. This would not be a route closed to normal people, just not an easy or often followed one. Thus you would be playing an average guy or gal that was forced into this weird circumstance and became stronger due to it.
  4. The devs are still stating that they will be changing the name for the game's release. There's even a thread about naming the game. http://forums.obsidi...name-this-game/
  5. Whoa, what? How does 2.4ish million translate into 8 hours of gameplay? What exactly are you saying here?
  6. I agree somewhat. I think making too many obstacles for female characters would really be sad. However, I'd like to see gender inequality being there, but not as a part of the story, just there as a backdrop to reinforce the setting. Also, I think it should be possible (very optionally) for female characters to really stick it to the worst misogynists. Most important of all, I'd like to societies with different perspectives on gender equality. Actually the different societies bit solves my issues with the misogyny implementation. If only one, smaller (in terms of game importance) society was extremely misogynistic, then you'd get all the wallop of misogyny without severely restricting female adventurer's games.
  7. I really hadn't given much thought about ecology. I think if they could reveal a bit more of that it would give us a better idea of where their collective head is at as far as the game world is concerned.
  8. I wonder a lot about how deities will work in PE - since we know there will be "real" deities, will they also have real power over the world? Or will their power over the world be limited to what their followers can do? With what little has been released so far I think the deities will wrap in with souls and be the focus of the game. As for content, I'm interested in anything that makes it a believable world. I would imagine they would have to go a little light on the misogyny just to avoid making a female adventurer's entire game revolve around it. That would get old quick.
  9. I would support this 100%. I might even pledge right up to the $250 mark if they let me take til the game was nearly released to do it.
  10. I saw someone suggest that a disused chainmail bikini or Cadegund's old boob plate be included in the game as a joke item. I'd favor that over crazy concept art. You are among friends. I would be living in a box if they went that crazy with the merch.
  11. Yes! So much yes! My little dilemma would be nearly completely solved if I knew I buy things from them after the fact. I want them to take my money, I just don't have any right now!
  12. What didn't you like about the current concept art? I'm a sucker for that sort of thing, so I know I'm not difficult to please.
  13. I don't want to call people out on pledge amount, but in the interest of full disclosure as OP, I'm stuck at $100. I can't really afford even the extra $40 it would take for the Collector's, but I don't think I could resist a hard box with a couple more fancy extras. More art and screenshots would be great too, but I would imagine I'd have to take them with so much salt (the game still being in predevelopment stages) that it would hardly be worth it.
  14. With only ten days left on the Kickstarter, there's still a lot up in the air. Obviously the game is still in the earliest of stages, but what little bit of information would you like to have before the Kickstarter ends? I'm talking mainly about the rewards because far too much could change with P:E by 2014. So what would change your pledge at this point? Personally, I'm most interested in the Collector's edition. If we could get details about that, I might not be able to resist upping my pledge. What kind of box is it coming in? (I don't know why this is so important to me, but it is) What is coming with it? Is it just the cloth map? I would also like to know if we'll get a second shot at some of these things. I'm pretty interested in the hardcover collector's book (I'd be interested in a hardcover of the novella as well if it ends up over 100 pages), but I just don't have $250 to spend right now. Come Christmas that might be a different story. So tell me, what would you like to know before all this fundraising's over?
  15. That made me quite happy. Content: I'm really liking this mobile campsite idea. Campsites would be set up by the devs and would be one (maybe two) use. You would use rest to regain spells and health. If they decide to go with an injury system (I really hope they do), the injuries could be quite punishing, assuming resting would heal them. Campsites would allow a checkpoint system to be organically implemented which means you'd have that nice 'miles to safe haven' desperation. Campsites could also (possibly) be turned off indivdually in different difficulties thus stretching supplies. Camping itself could be optional and to punish players for using it could require heavy-ish camping gear to be carried. Really loving the possiblities this idea presents. Bravo guys.
  16. That would be great! I want me one of those hardcover books, but $250 is more than I can get together in 10 days. Come Christmas however, I could up that $100 another $250. It would also give them a chance to explain the differences between the normal and collector's editions which I would love to know.
  17. For the pet, I think something like a cat would be great. Just something curious that would mess with things in the area, maybe point out something you wouldn't have noticed. I would also like to be able to name it. These are weird little things that increase my attachment to a game and a PC. Of course this is more than an aesthetic so I would prefer if they dropped the in game idea from the rewards and added it to the next stretch goal. I think it can add to the game which is why everyone should be able to have one.
  18. Huh. Didn't see that before. Looks like, as you said snakes, or perhaps plant shoots. So many snakes together makes one wonder, did Medusa's hair ever get tangled?
  19. I'm kind of hoping it is the Project: Eternity logo as opposed to the game logo. It reminds me a great deal of a lock and I find myself a bit entranced by the idea that all these classic designs will spin and unlock to reveal what has been done with all of the classic ideas and systems that went into the game. I may or may not be slightly insane.
  20. One of the best username post combinations I've seen. Oh... sorry about that. You know, now that I look, I don't see a link to the community rules anywhere. Not saying it's not there, but it isn't anywhere obvious. No need to apologize. I just mention it because finding the info is not at hand. Could you point me to a link? All of this is news to me too.
  21. Yes, that confused me also, every fantasy setting I have known they have had souls. I see no reason why they would be different in this case. I'm in the same boat. Other than maybe an affinity for magic, I wasn't aware elves were all the special in most settings. I know Tolkien's were very special, but other than that I would like some examples. Can someone help me out?
  22. Do we have any idea what the Collector's version will be like for P:E? I can imagine this being the last thing they're thinking about right now, but with only 12 days left to decide, it would be nice to have a vague idea of the difference between collector's and regular boxes. I'd love me a velvet lined game box.
  23. I'm trying to understand your point, so please bare with me. Assume that you, as a Witcher, came across this group of terroists. How would you handle the situation/ how should this situation have been presented to you? Or is your issue with the situation itself? If so, what was wrong about the way it was handled?
  24. I'm glad they have some experience with the idea because it sounds great. More than that, it sounds like the sort of thing that comes about after thinking through the setting. If there are gods and they are known meddlers, it is reasonable to assume some people would resent them. In the name of actual content, I would point out that the fact that we've been told the gods have purposely confused the nature of the soul which means they have something to lose.
