  1. Expert excrement expeditor here I come.
  2. It is unlikely that the events in PE will regularly be as intense as patrolling in 105F weather under the blazing sun. As a general rule.
  3. Pepperoni, fresh pineapple, fresh spinach, fresh garlic, and mixed cheese(Mozz/romano or Mozz/goat depending on what I have on hand)
  4. Play the Hordes of the Underdark expansion pack for NWN1 and you'll be able to go up into Epic levels. Granted, you're up against Mephistopheles for the final showdown, but it's still the principle of a demi-human being able to become so overwhelmingly ascendent and superior that rubs me the wrong way. I simply prefer to keep things a little more down-to-earth when it comes to PCs and NPCs. Gandalf was a Maiar, but he still could've had his head taken off or bashed in by an orc while defending Minas Tirith. This is more in keeping with the level of realism I'm hoping for. Regardless of the actual numbers, I simply want to avoid Superman Syndrome in P:E. Gandalf was a little bitch compared to the character's you saw in the Silmarillion. Not to mention that Tolkein, especially in LOTR, is low fantasy and both D&D and PE will be high fantasy. In fact it was specifically mentioned that magic was leaving Middle Earth and that things were much less powerful than they had been. Then there's the fact that when you get right down to it, a game set in a world built solely to show off a made up language isn't particularly interesting. Keep LOTR out of PE.
  5. Um, unless you're maximizing Con and health feats, wich outside of very specific builds is rather subpar, the max hitpoints you'll reach by 20th level will on average be a bit under 200 as a fighter. Around 200 if you're a barbarian. This assumes you have no minimum health gain per level which some people houserule. My group tends to houserule 50% or better till level 5, but then all the DMs I play with know how to construct difficult encounters so it's useful if they roll luckier than normal to keep from TPKing and ending the session for the night. Even a barbarian rolling max HP every level would have a hard time breaking 350 unless he maxed CON as his primary stat.
  6. Make that five... in serious need of merging. Take it for what you will but Alpha protocol russian cougar chick is good example of point I'm trying to make. The infinity engine games have graphic limitations in character development. Hideo Kojima the developer of metal gear solid puts good use of cinematics, using the games graphic engine, in building his characters. Personally I'm hoping Obsidian make use of the technique with the game engine they are using that I believe shares flaws with the old infinity engine. Sie is in her early 40's. Thornton is between 28 and 38 years old.
  7. To be completly honset I think you are better off in the long run with both of those actions - it's time to seriously move towards renewable energy and coal is not a viable option. If the US wants to be the undeniable center of scientific progress and beacon of freedom and hope again, the left-wingers are imho much better equipped for taking you there. Republican policy will help you in the short run, but following their ideology you are basically competing on a commodity (the worlds premiere manufactures) that you have no hope of winning in the long run. So I'm happy for you, but I also hope that Obama realizes that he needs to make concessions and reach across the isle. The amount of doom and gloom in your media is seriously hurting your internal strength and the growing wedge between the political parties and their supporters is a serious problem. To put things in perspective, compared to a European political spectrum, your parties only really cover the right (and are actually very close). If we had the democrats and republicans in Denmark, they would've formed a government together as their ideologies are basically the same compared to opposition. Coal is a viable option for more than 400 years in the US given the current energy usage curve. That doesn't even begin to consider shale oil. Under Eisenhower, the 90% marginal rate applied only to people making more than 4 million current USD per year. Which is probably quite a bit less than 80,000 people/households in 2012. Going to an Eisenhower tax scheme would for the first couple years if not only solely the first year, net an additional 100 billion. This wouldn't even BEGIN to close the deficit gap, let alone start actually pay off the debt. At which point things would be reorganized and the people making that much would just be compensated someway else or quit entirely.
  8. But.. but... mannequin sex is the pinnacle of human graphics technology. Why, without mannequin sex you would be reduced to merely accepting an event occurred. The developers couldn't show you the depth of the character's emotion and connection. Not to mention it would put the guy they specifically hire to do the lingerie graphics out of work.
  9. Um. You do realize there will be SERIOUS economic effects if the debt is not serviced and entitlements are not distributed correct? Refusing to pay the interest on the debt would certainly make for an interesting game of chicken with our debtors, unless we wanted to default entirely I suppose. Or we could just inflate our way out of debt, but that NEVER ends well. As for entitlements well, I suppose old people rioting are amusing.
  10. Eh, pretty much everybody's ****ed. Even if Romney had been elected it would have at best slowed the collapse. http://www.zerohedge...t-doesnt-matter Most of the Eurozone is in a boat that just as leaky if not worse. China has so many internal problems that their collapse is coming within the decade unless they go back to the bad old days of the Great Leap Forward, in which case instead of splintering into a bunch of smaller polities they slaughter a bunch of their citizens and head back into full totalitarianism.
  11. I'm still waiting to hear the reason polls are weighting +11 Democrat and more. With exit polls at +7 Dem in the 2008 elections and the difference in enthusiasm levels, you would have to be INSANE to assume an even more lopsided vote. Yet all the polls are running higher registered Dem mixes.
  12. Where's the die in a thermite covered coffin fire option?
  13. If reality were leftist than scientific fraud wouldn't have been increasing exponentially since the mid-70's, which is when hard science academia started to take a hard left bent.
  14. Odds on Obama because of what the polls say. But the problem is that the bigger the sample size in the polls, the better Romney does. Which says something about the polls themselves. Mainly that they're weighted too far registered democrat. Time's recent Ohio poll was weighted 20 points Democrat, and still only had Obama with a 5 point lead. This is important, because even in 2008 registered Dems did not hold a 20 point lead over registered Reps.
  15. Apart from the first, in no particular order 1. Firefly Farscape Dexter South Park Mythbusters Addams Family - The 1960s series Lost Girl
  16. *Yawn* Let me know when the AGW weenies start pushing for major research funding into carbon sequestration. At that point I'll start taking their claims seriously.
  17. They were "weak" romances as you could not get your hand in their pixel panties. How does not being able to have sex with them make them "weak" romances? They were weak, but not because of the lack of consummation. Mainly because TNO couldn't given the events of the game have a strong romance. Which unless the plot is going to be VERY different than current events indicate, really isn't applicable to PE.
  18. All characters in D&D have a predetermined age. Assuming he died at that age, no matter from what, he could not be resurrected. Reincarnated, but not resurrected.
  19. Which makes no sense as an INT of 8 would be at worst an underperformng high school student. Sayyy, a bit smarter than Britney Spears. Remember, at INT 3 people can talk. Badly, but they can talk and people by and large understand them.
  20. Regarding pay disparity in the US, the difference is within 5% when extraneous variables are controlled for. Given that men are on average more aggressive about their wants, that 5% almost certainly comes from them attempting to put the extra effort into getting raises or promotions beyond the norm. As for the Lily Ledbetter FUD being pushed by the left, the SCOTUS decision had nothing to do with denying discovery after the 180 days when the discrimination occurred. They explicitly left that question open regarding Title VII suits. As they are supposed to do since it never came up in the trial. Ledbetter learned of the purported discrimination(There was never a finding of fact on it at all IIRC) within the initial 180 days. She then waited over 6 years to file the lawsuit, just before she decided to retire and wanted all her back pay and benefits updated to reflect that. The Supreme Court said that you cannot learn of the fact and then sit on it until it suits you to file a lawsuit under the old law(Under the new law you can). Which was perfectly correct. As for women being cold and self serving, no more than any other human. Of course, given my general view on humanity that doesn't say much, but still.
  21. They should have that toggle. Relatively easy to program. I'd say they should also have an arachnoawesome button, but that's what mods are for.
  22. Most, if not all of those games have cheevos. If you want them, you log into Steam before playing the game, otherwise, you don't. Not to mention that PE will probably have an internal cheevos list, which Steam may end up updating from anyway.
  23. The answer to the question of which will happen first, the end of this thread, the release of Half Life 3, or the heat death of the universe, is unknown.
  24. I find everyone throwing around the Avellone romance easy target quote as evidence that romances WON'T be in the game pretty amusing. All that quote says is that Avellone wants other relationships besides romance in the game. Not that he didn't want any romance in the game. In any case, their best bet is to neither confirm or deny ANYTHING on the subject of specific relationships until after 2014 rolls around and the options available are more or less set in stone. This way we don't have 18 months of neurotic posters trying to make sure their special brand of relationship, romance or not, gets in the game. Not that the threads will stop, but this way the people posting in them will have no solid expectations of which to base a temper tantrum on.
  25. Nobody likes my cetacean based concept. This saddens me. Especially as it would allow for a number of divergent subraces, from orcan to bottlenose.
