  1. In fairness to Morrigan she was raised by a female version of Emporer Palpatine to specifically be weak-willed and undecisive when it comes to her own personal wants. That was the entire base of her character arc.
  2. Cetacean-humanoids. Which means utterly irreverant, playful, yet still fully capable of things like rape and murder.
  3. Obsidian has stated that they are trying to keep the abilities of common objects like firearms relatively realistic. The only way to get a breastplate like that with period technologies would be to weld the upper and lower half together, creating a perfect weak point of a sword to slid in. This would go under the category of bad.
  4. I love comedy in general, but what you described trivialised the issue of consent when drunk and reinforced a gender double standard that says that guys don't really mind "surprise sex." Unless one gets surprise-intoxicated, then as long as Party A is capable of response when teh secks is initiated by Party B, there is no issue of consent while intoxicated.Obviously that assumes Party A doesn't respond in the negative.
  5. I want a game with David Warner and Wayne Pygram voicing the main villians of two separate factions. There must be at least one scene where they monologue at one another.
  6. In fairness her character was rather consistent with a lonely girl who was raised by a female version of Emperor Palpatine(From the prequel trilogy. Oddly enough he was the one character who was better written in the prequels vs the originals.).
  7. I think there was something with Haer'Dalis. I can't be sure as Aerie always mysteriously died in every single one of my playthroughs.
  8. Problem is that the two Black Isle/Obsidian games with famously deep characterizations had romance, although the form and style differed from Bioware's. The reason being because romance can add another layer of depth to a relationship. What games? Probably MotB and PS:T. They're Avellone "romances" though. So they're really tragedies that aren't offensive. They were written to pretty much punish those looking for virtual love/sex because our good Lord and savior Avellone famously hates the romances we all loathe. No, I meant Kotor 2. MotB isn't tragic if you play it correctly. Its also the only good straightforward romance in an Obsidian game. Well, Kaelyn is tragic, even her good ending, but that has more to do with the nature of FR than anything inherent in the romances. Somehow I doubt WOTC was prepared to let them destroy the Wall of the Faithless.
  9. They have not. The printing press hasn't been invented yet in the world of eternity. Books existed before the printed press was invented. Copies were made by clerks and monks in monasteries. This mean books were very expensive and rare, but it didn't matter because the majority couldn't read anyway... I was talking about newspapers. You could have woodcut broadsheets. Expensive, and crude, but for things like wanted posters or really important information, they would be available.
  10. So, Ryan and Romney are the smarmy jerks? Did we watch the same debate? Not to mention Biden outright LIED about his votes on Afghanistan and Iraq. Not to mention that he outright lied about the Libya situation. Not to mention that he failed to say that his wife was the one responsible for her car crash but that the Bidens and their lawyers ruined a man's life by claiming he was drunk and he had to take them to court over it. But yeah, Ryan and Romney are the smarmy arrogant ones.
  11. The one thing we do know is that crafting inventory will be separate from normal inventory, at least for mundane ingredients . Which is good.
  12. That actually make me laugh (Remembering the old 80?) song with the same name. I remember one (by Warlock) but not sure if that's the one you had in mind. German heavy metal wasn't that well known outside Germany (and my native Denmark). The funny part is that I was actually listening to a Warlock song when I read your post. Three Minute Warning not All We Are, but still.
  13. How? His predecessor had significantly more insane security lapses (you know, the original 9/11 where his director of national security said that she had recieved a brief on plots by al queda to attack the USA, and there were serious breeches conserning how they got pilot training etc. And he's running against somebody for whom wood looks softer, and is known to consider most of the citizenry to be slackers who mooch off the system. None of the briefs were at all specific(AQ is planning a major attack cannot be considered specific, and none of the security in place, even beefed up, would have stopped them from getting on the plane, especially with the complete lack of interagency cooperation at the time.) whereas 16 special forces with weapons heavier than PISTOLS sitting on the consulate could very well have dissuaded the attackers.
  14. Healing surges are the second stupidest mechanic I've ever come across in a PnP RPG. The stupidest being the wealth mechanic of d20 modern.
  15. Aaaand Obama just lost the election. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/10/bombshell-obama-state-dept-withdrew-16-member-special-forces-security-team-from-libya-one-month-before-attack-video/ http://www.ktvq.com/news/congress-to-probe-security-flaws-for-libya-diplomats/
  16. Complete control within their class. So unless a Khelgar Fighter to Monk situation comes up, or they are already multiclassed, no multilclassing
  17. Holy ****ing ****. Metiman and I agree on something. Quick, someone look outside, is there a 2km asteroid about to hit earth?
  18. Sorry, but Pathfinder has been kicking the crap out of 4th ed for the past year and a half or so and shows little signs of flagging. Considering it only took 2 and a half years to go from zero to that point and took virtually all it's marketshare(There have been some diehards actually switching over from 2nd ed, but that's a minority of a minority) from 3.X and 4th ed players that's pretty damned impressive. Part of it is book design. 4th ed hardcover books are a small amount of crunch and a medium amount of exposition in virtually every book outside of the player handbooks, and even the player handbooks are only a medium amount of crunch. Pathfinder hardcover books on the other hand come in either crunch or exposition outside of the first book, which is both the basic DM guide and player handbook all in one. So you only need buy the exposition books for the settings you want, and all your other purchases will be pure crunch. Obviously the above doesn't apply to adventure paths.
  19. Not yet. They're doing a partially in-house MMO with a guy who worked with CCP on EvE and someone who worked on CoH. No idea how that's going to turn out. Tried looking for the tech demo they kickstarted, but either they haven't finished it or nobody leaked it. Supposedly going to be based on EvE model of actions beget skills instead of standard xp model. Been virtually no info on the subject since May. The OGL only applies to non-mechanics based material released by WOTC. Standard xp tables, spell descriptions(but not mechanics) etc.. etc... Special creatures originated by WOTC cannot be copied at all outside of OGL, so no Illithids. That being said, if Hasbro actually took someone to court over the mechanics whatever the OGL claims, they would get bitchslapped pretty hard. So Paizo could make a computer game. They'd just have to be VERY careful as to design.
  20. My group tried it for about 10 minutes when it came out. Then we went "Hey look, Pathfinder" and haven't looked back since.
  21. Most of the stuff from Obamacare hasn't actually been enacted yet. Yes, because when a business owner is thinking about hiring someone on part or full time they only think about the immediate costs. They never look 6 months to a few years down the road and figure their costs. Oh wait, that's EXACTLY what they do.
  22. Ah, the smell of Neo-Keynesianism. That bastard Bernanke has started pumping 40 billion a month of quantitative easing into the economy, all just to cover his ass over the election period since Romney specifically called his ass out on the carpet. The Fed has been wrong about every major economic development over the past 20 years. The government cannot FIX the economy, and even Keynes assumed that the deficit spending on things like infrastructure envisioned in his plan would be a marked change from the status quo, instead of a merely amping up of the status quo.
  23. It would make sense for them to have steam workshop support as well, but I imagine you have to pay Gaben and Valve a fair sum to use that for your game. The problem with SW support is that it's...picky. Sometimes it runs smooth as butter, sometimes it gets funky. Then there's the fact that it really doesn't work well with very extensive mods, and doesn't really crosscheck mod support at all. This is a problem since it automatically installs mods. Whereas generally one of the modders on Nexus will create some sort of mod manager like FOMM which can check general compatibility and change mod priority, and FO3Edit which can actually fix mod compatibility. Now, whether those types of tools will be able to be created with the Unity engine is unknown, but they don't really work with SW at all.
  24. Yeah see, the commercial I got was much more annoying than the gangnam song.
