Update #52: Monk!
It all looks and sounds great. The Monk is a real departure from the old D&D class and it sounds much more like something I'd actually want to play: living damage capacitors. As for the culture concepts... I can see what was meant by a subdued palette. I like the clear differentiation in the styles, and the Vailian attire certainly has that Renaissance look; albeit with less modest dresses. Most of the hair styles and colors look very similar--are there going to be cultural differences there as well? Thank you for the update.

The Kickstarter Thread
Redwall is funded, although it had a pretty low bar. There are four updates with new stretch goals listed.

Expanded Journal Content: Bestiaries, Biographies and Big ol' Encyclopedias
The irritation I usually experience is in trying to find such-and-such a piece of information at a later date. Wouldn't it be nice if all the lore, codices, journal entries, and conversations were wikified and searchable so you can readily locate information. Or it could use pop-ups on mouse-overs.

EA Granted Star Wars License
EA, of course, would never, ever hose up a s/w license.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Once more my mind was set to wandering... ...how about a game about a poor animated skeleton who becomes self-aware as the result of a magical experiment by his master, then is cast adrift in a quest to find a body for itself? Naturally, every champion that comes along wants to whack him to bits and every wizard wants to enslave him, so he must learn to fend for himself. His only friends are among the animated dead, including a zombie maiden and a dwarven mummy with a burning thirst... Random noise for the day.

Eternity Artists: Dragons should not (all) be Dragons any more!
For every person who is bored of elves, dragons, or dungeon crawls, there is a new player who has a burgeoning interest in the same. I say keep them in.

Small suggestions. Easily implemented ideas, quickfire thoughts.
Hmm... Perhaps it is an magical armor of the "mind" that gains its power purely through allure? Hence, the skimpier the better. Indeed, it is powered by the very charisma of the wearer, gaining an attack avoidance bonus based on the physical appeal stat. The power of the outfit is maximized against members of the same race but the opposite sex. A form of "madness" is created by the utter sensual appeal of the wearer that deflects blows through distraction and inattention. Unfortunately, it is less effective against humanoids of different races, and almost completely ineffective against beasts and non-humanoid monsters.

^^^ Well the gaming community is certainly not known for over-reacting. To anything. Ever.

how many artists are working on PE?
Feargus Urquhart was quoted as saying, "we do have around 15 people working on Project Eternity...". Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine.

Haswell Countdown
Do we know how good that GPU capability will be? Is it intended to supplement a graphics board, or replace it? (Sorry, I'm not much of a hardware guy.)

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
By "after every login" do you mean every time you reboot your PC or every time your PC goes to sleep and you wake it up? The former should happen, the latter should not. The former.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Huh? You can very easily tell it not to start up when you log in to your PC. You can also tell it not to auto update. Well yeah, I did both but it didn't seem to help. The thing still prompted me to start up in offline mode after every login and it still hijacked my login to do an update. Maybe it's a bug? No matter. In the end it was just cleaner to remove it.

The Most Overlooked, and Most Important Elements of an RPG
One of the weakest elements of virtually every CRPG I've played, and to me one of the most important, is the creation of a sense that this is a living, breathing world with lived-in settlements, people going about their business, and an economy working around you. Sure, games like MotB and DA2 had cities, but they felt like empty shells inhabited by vacuous zombies.

Steam is just annoying. Having it pop up every time I log in, then just arbitrarily loading a new copy of itself whenever the owners feel like it. I finally removed it altogether.

I hadn't been keeping tabs on this one, but since their successful KS in December, the Forsaken Fortress team has posted nine more updates with plenty of interesting graphics: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1317934609/forsaken-fortress/posts
