  1. That's a worm, not a bacteria. Not even close.
  2. Eww...
  3. C code: #define Alternate(t) (!t)
  4. Gather game resources, raise your character's crafting skill, build your own romancable bot, then romance the cyber-crap out of her for extra XP. It amounts to the same thing really.
  5. It looks fine in Chrome. Perhaps it's your browser?
  6. Making the rounds: "Don't forget to set your clocks back 300 years tonight."
  7. Perhaps not surprisingly, some people consider Americans to be too WEIRD. Apparently it's an abbreviation employed in studies of behavioral science, meaning: Western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic.
  8. I like a cRPG that can hold my interest. Otherwise it doesn't really matter how long it is.
  9. I prefer my Romans in a more classic setting.
  10. In my mind, he may well prove to be the last of the classy presidents. I'll remember him and his spouse in a positive light.
  11. I can feel sympathy for Manning because of the bullying, messed up family, and psychological issues. Not sure I agree with commuting the sentence though. There's plenty of other messed up individuals in prison.
  12. "You know, there's going to be sex, drugs, rock-n-roll... chips, dips, chains, whips... You know, your basic high school orgy type of thing. I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals." -- Weird Science
  13. Very plausible? Only in so far as one believes the classical Hollywood portrayal of mental illness. I've worked for years in psychiatry and I've never heard of or seen anything that even closely resembled the family or protagonist. Also, in what way did the narrative hold together? Even when 'adjusting' for the 'unreliable narrator', it was painfully obvious that the writers had gone to the 'Lost' school of plotline coherence.. Why does that matter in the slightest? It doesn't have to be plausible to a profession psychiatrist, only to a TV viewer with a lay persons knowledge of psychiatry. It held together for myself and others I discussed it with. Sorry, I can't explain why it didn't for you.
  14. It completly falls apart in the next episodes. I was pretty dissapointed and wish I'd ditched it around episode 6. I've quite enjoyed the series, primarily for the character development and the plot twists. It's a very plausible portrayal of a mentally ill protagonist, which is a big part of what makes it confusing to follow at times. For me the story held together well, even if the main scenario is unlikely. Obviously it isn't for everybody.
