    Generally, I've found you just get a shot at better items. "Intelligence Options" are rather non-existent in this game. All the attribute-specific dialogue options are just for flavor or for peaceful resolutions. The way the stat system is set up, option-based XP would completely unbalance the game and ruin RP chances.

    Those games released mod tools because they created and owned the engine. Obsidian did not make an engine for PoE. As for modding currently being "too hard"... welcome to software development.

    On Madhmar Bridge, the backer NPC, Aerthuris, has an extra long backstory because it was copied and pasted twice.

    Almost everything you are complaining about was a stretch goal in the Kickstarter that people paid for, or a feature that was tweaked during the closed beta due to player feedback. But judging by your language, you seem to have a problem with how others play games anyway.

    I honestly forget how this was done for Sword Coast and BG2, but wasn't there some sort of import feature from BG1? I'd hate to have to remake my character. Ideally, it would be nice to import your customs as well, but I doubt that would happen.

    I'm going to experiment with leaving out the INT, even though it goes against every grain for me as a player. I could always go for chanter. How does this look for a fighter PC build: M: 16 C: 11 D: 11 P: 14 I: 11 R: 15
