  1. It matters when you say that it is part of official version of world of PoE, which it isn't actually as it is just fan made additional content. If we took this as part of official version of world of PoE then we should also count those lesbian romances, stories of lonely PC (as computer) users and etc. content that you can find within backer supplemented content as part of official version of world of PoE. It's in the game so I consider it a part of the game world. Obsidian included those memorials and NPC's so they made them a part of the game world no matter how subpar those content are. Still having those in the game doesn't mean that the game or the creators views are consistent with this content. I would argue that is not the case even if it is superior to content that Obsidian produces, but that it is content that they don't see as part of game world, but instead of content that breaches forth wall to give homage to their backers. It may or may not align with views of content creator, only thing that really matters is do content portray such view that is consistent of vision that Obsidian wants their game to portray about them and about game itself to people that play it. If they feel that game don't portray message that they want it do, then they probably should edit it.

  3. Memorials aren't content that Obsidian produced themselves, but content that was produced backers on backer tiers $500+. I think that part of Obsidian's instructions for memorials was that they should not have foul language, slurs or otherwise offensive content. In this particular case, I would say that Obsidian should remove or edit message if they find it to be offensive (people's opinions, including mine, on how offensive or inoffensive memorial is shouldn't carry much of weight in this decision), as it is their game and it would be quite unfair for one backer get special privileges that others with same reward didn't get. In general I don't like see content, even offensive, removed from game or any other piece of art, but creator(s) of should always have right to edit their work if they find that something don't produce image that they wanted.
  4. Itemization, consumables and rest (+ night pleasure for main character) bonuses are the key to any successful build. Starting attribute values play quite minor role in character's combat efficiency and most part in my experience one should probably focus on their character's roleplay aspects when they select them if they don't necessary want to try do min/max build. What I have seen Perception and Resolve are probably most important stats to open new conversation options and get additional information about game world and its characters (which probably is not that surprising in Obsidian's RPG). Con/Per/Res are fully defensive attributes that in my opinion work fine (although they differ from three other attributes that give both defensive and aggressive bonuses). Interesting note if you do full tank build you usually don't need con as they don't take that much damage as enemies (and your own aoe's) will mostly miss or graze them. Con is actually useful stat for front line damage dealing builds as you need to sacrifice some of that defensive abilities that tanks have to make them efficient damage dealers.
  5. You will find lots of items that have special enchantments that you can do yourself.
  6. They did this, although they did it as form of Kickstarter update where they reminded people to fill their surveys.
  7. To me it feels that there is infinity resting in the game already. As you can find from every longer dungeon 1-4 camping supplies and I constantly need to leave them behind as my supply limit is full. And even worst case I have had to use only 3 rest supplies to clear dungeon (Temple in Gilded Vale with Aloth, Edér and hired adventurer), currently I am Defiance Bay in act 2 (so quite beginning still). And I am playing on hard difficulty. If you feel that you need to rest more and fights eat too much your resources you probably should test easier difficulty level (if you aren't already playing on easy), as there is no shame to learn new rule set in easy difficulty, especially in game that is designed to be challenging. But I would not for first thing that I do go and remove one of those factors that make game bit more challenging. But that is just me in these days.
  8. It seems that some where in their copy paste process, non-ascii character in your name has changed to numeric character reference of it. And nobody has noticed it as they have used automated system which results nobody has probably checked thoroughly. You have my sympathies.
  9. Did you back game on level that had name in credits reward (Special Thanks in-game credits. It was included in $100+ reward levels [you also should then have silver VIP, Gold, or Watcher forum badge])
  10. I have same issue that Steam don't add game to my profile, but I get achievements and I can see them in game library, but not in Steam profile
  11. Enemy fighters have constant recovery, which can make them quite hard to kill with single character that don't have high DPS, as they don't have in my understanding have health and therefore don't die for just doing damage for long period of time, although I am not sure, as my tank chanter was able to kill Outlaw fighter in that second area, even though it took quite lot time to do so, they may have health stat but it is just so high that it causes make it feel that you can't wear them out.
  12. That reaction is quite late addition in the game, but they have gone through multiple different inventory system during development, but they have kept in their original high level concept, which was three tier inventory - equipped+quick slots - top of bag/character's personal inventory space and stash. Although system is not as complex as they originally visioned as they made stash much more accessible and lessened role that personal inventory space plays in the game.
  13. It is hard to say before I get those physical rewards, if it was just Kickstarter euphoria or did I actually pledged something worthwhile Game itself is beyond my expectations, but as I would had gotten it with 20 dollar pledge, it is hard to say if rest $338 were actually worth of it, although digital additions seem mostly be quality stuff, so those at least have some worth in them. But as I have accounted all the money that I put in Kickstarters as lost and it has now been over two years from that date when I lost that money, so it don't really have any value for me anymore, which make everything product that I like feel like worthwhile investment in my head, which is probably only thing that should matter at the end.
  14. In-game credits was thing that was offered people on $100 rewad level or higher (so in other words for V.I.P, Gold and Watcher level backers)
  15. This is indeed the "day one" patch. There is no new patch coming today (unless there's a crazy hotfix issue.) We are working on 1.03, but that's not locking down until next week. We'd like to collect issues reported here and elsewhere to make sure any immediate stuff gets resolved. Generally, that number at the end (508) is the daily build number. We don't fire off lots and lots of builds - it would take way too much time too do that. They usually only occur once daily, sometimes 2-3 times a day depending on the situation. Ok well I fail to see the difference with this and the pre-release build. Can we get the patch notes or something? I thought the UI was getting an overhaul.... Item Enchant UI has gotten polish, which was only UI overhaul that I know they have spoken.
  16. IGN Finland praises game and gives it 9.2/10 http://fi.ign.com/pillars-of-eternity-pc/68800/review/arvostelussa-pillars-of-eternity

  18. It is legit review, reviewer seems to overall liking game quite much even though he finds some aspects of game bit lacking or would have hoped different kind of implementation. He also seems to be quite knowledge able about game, its mechanics and kickstarter aspects of it.
  19. Steam only counts revenue from Steam store itself when they sort their best selling list, so redeemed backer codes don't influence it.
  20. Beta players can easily comment on this. There are tons of people who played more than 20 hours, they may have a say on this too. But you, as I see, have nothing valuable to say about this, yet you still comment. I wonder how many of those 689 posts of yours are contributing. Beta players can give definite answer for this question because we were restricted to only small part of the game, which makes it impossible to tell for certain what you need in full playthrough. But you get minor (not even close to boost that you get in IE games) xp boost per open slot in your party. There are build that allow you to solo beta, but by nature of mechanics support bigger parties, but most of my playthroughs of beta area I did with party of five because it was default set up and missing one party member don't hinder you too much.
  21. It depends on day. D:OS was about month Steam best seller and sold 500k copies on that period producing about $22 million (~$0.73M/d) worth of revenue (which is factor that Steam uses to sort their best seller list). But some times they have games that sell over million copies during one week, which usually means that their daily revenue is much bigger than what D:OS for example had.
  22. How do you know GOG doesn't get that many people a day? I think a lot of people underestimate just how many gamers have permanently said "no more, never again" to any and all forms of DRM. Witcher 2 has been one of the biggest sellers in GOG's history and GOG's version had cheapest price (shared with other stores) of all the legitimate stores and it had most additional goods and it was created and published by their sister company and still Steam managed to sell 5 times more copies. Of course GOG has grown from those days and maybe with Witcher 3 we will finally see Steam to lose little bit of its dominance of PC market. http://www.pcgamer.com/gog-release-witcher-2-sales-stats-steam-dominates-all-competitors-combined/ "Direct2Drive, Impulse and Gamersgate's combined sales combined hit only 10,000 sales of CD Projekt's RPG, whereas GOG managed to shift a cool 40,000 copies. Then there's Steam. Valve's digital distribution service managed to shift 200,000 copies in the same time period."
