  1. Me, its simply a case of I knew I wanted higher tier, but I just couldn't afford it and so I had to settle for less... very less. If they allow us to up our pledge next year, I promise I'l throw in more money for the highest digital tier.
  2. its a video game, its not a torture tool. There's no reason to impose your view on how a person should struggle in a game onto everyone else. If you want sadistic challenges, go ahead and not use optional features. But don't for a second think you have the right to dictate how everyone should feel about it. Options are there to allow people have fun the way they see fit.
  3. True, but they are improving a game that PE is using as a reference, and if they are doing it, that's because there is a demand. I don't see why should be incompatible to have the option to choose. The argument of not using a multi-touch technology because it is not true "old-school" is comparable to arguing against the use of higher definitions or 3D character models because they were not there in the past. It takes time and money to implement additional feature, resources that could go into other areas of the game that will benefit everyone and not just a small group of people who are marching the tablet support thing in a juggernaut fashion.
  4. I hope there will be an option for backers to increase our pledge in the future. Many users including me could certainly afford more over a longer period of time and I would certainly love to get the highest digital tiers once I have a full time job, lol.
  5. Now that Kickstarter starts charging all the credit cards, I hope not too many pledges failed due to issues here. Anyone knows whats the typical failure rate here?
  6. Holy cow. Its like in a Twilight zone here. 4 million goal came up and you guys hit it in a few hours. What do you guys eat for breakfast. Congrats everyone
  7. Congratulations on the success of this Kickstarter project. I have absolute faith in everyone in Obsidian to make a great cRPG game. Now on to the long agony of waiting for the final product. I hope that Obsidian will be constantly updating the fans on the progress, maybe throw us a screen shot here or a concept art there, or just anything from time to time to "ease the wait" I'm excited, looking forward to it.
  8. I'm so excited I wished I could give everyone a hug Thank you everyone for making this happen. I'm really looking forward to this game.
  9. The time and money is certainly a concern. Lets be honest, it takes time to make stuff. And I don't think many backers wish to see the project being delay just to implement these additional feature which is a whole new thing for the reasons mentioned by others (balancing, the infrastructure to host servers, etc etc.) If they release this as an expansion pack, I have absolutely no problem with it. In fact I will be excited. But lets have the complete PE first which is what this project started out as. Extra stuff can always come later.
  10. Thank you everyone for making this happen. Obsidian, the backers, thank you all.
  11. WOOOOHOOOOO C'mon guys, brain storm for something cool. Time is running out
  12. I'm glad we've achieved it (will do very soon) Can't wait for the game
  13. By the way, I have a noob question here. Where did they get that software to display the map in the computer?
  14. 3.32mil, with Paypal it should be 3.4mil now We're about to hit it. Well done everyone
  15. I appreciate them doing this. But I guess a table top gaming session is not easy to live stream. Its hard to follow what's going on.
  16. Ah yes, the agony of import taxes. I'm thankful for digital only tiers. Wasteland 2 only offered up to $55 which was what I took, kind of wished they offered higher digital tiers. I'm glad PE offers higher digital tiers too. Future Kickstarter projects should take note.
  17. MMO is always quantity over quality. People spend lots of hours playing but often the amount of fun is not as much, most hours are spend grinding as a means to an end. And I agree, hopefully the gameplay hours in PE is more meaningful and not just boring grinding or chores.
  18. A very good point A game should not go to the point of being annoying. Nevertheless, if I recalled correctly, many of the game parameters would be editable by a simple text edit, so perhaps if we don't like the inventory system we could tweak around with its limits and so on.
  19. I backed this project (and Wasteland 2) because its been a very long time since anyone made a great isometric crpg. As for the details of the game, I honestly am not worry about them because I trust Obsidian will know what's best for this game. I can't judge the details based on past experiences because I don't know how Obsidian plans on implementing them. At the end of the day, when we back a project, its main reason has to be that we trust these guys in making another great isometric rpg game. Its hard to apply any science to it, we just have to go with our gut feeling.
  20. Paypal and Kickstarter is two different thing. They are just 2 different ways to donate to the project. If you have donated through Paypal, like I did, then we can forget about Kickstarter, its just a service. The backer status is on this forum, not on Kickstarter. Once the project is over, we will all get a backer status here, doesn't matter if we use Paypal or Kickstarter.
  21. Every dollar we pledge goes into the game we're all getting. It helps the team to create more contents for the game.
  22. With 3 days left to go, I fear the 3.5 million goal is looking less likely. I'm hoping that Obsidian would consider it still if we could get close like 2.2 or 2.3 million.
