  1. I agree with this, double clicking also should center when you double click a character. I haven't checked whether it does that, but it does when you double click the portrait.
  2. It's an extreme edge case for games to center on the cursor Warcraft 3 certainly doesn't. DotA 2 doesn't, Aarklash Legacy doesn't ... etc etc I would say no to this. You control the zoom by moving the screen to the position you want.
  3. The combat state is a bit buggy atm. You can cheat yourself out of a buff if you target an enemy and then cancel the targeting on the character that triggered the combat state, as the buff doesn't apply if the combat state ends.
  4. Nothing is stopping you from entering the discussion on other forums you know, or asking him questions on tumblr. I bought a Something Awful account to take part in the discussion there, just as I joined the RPGCodex and NeoGAF to join the discussion there.
  5. Hardly, because the Attack Resolution system normalizes the hits. It would just make the system more banal. If you're going to have flat damage, you may as well take out miss altogether and just turn it into Starcraft without the other RTS bits. But that would be boring, without a complete re-design of the game.
  6. Randomness / luck is exciting. Not an RPG example but the Call of Duty games use math.random(x, y) to determine the pixel in the crosshair that bullets land when firing from the hip. It's not as fun anymore in the later titles because of the normalized damage, no 1b hs on most guns and railgun accuracy but in Call of Duty 1 and 2, getting a 1b hs with a thompson or something from a great distance never failed to produce a scream of excitement from anybody. In one of my videos I got a 97 crit with the Arbalest and you can hear the excitement in my voice on that hit in the video, it was just natural.
  7. Do DoTs even challenge your defenses? or are they just automatically applied on rolls
  8. Doesn't work for me, a-clicking and control a-click just selects the character with the attack cursor still present, and yeah you can't select your weapon and attack either.
  9. Please bring back being able to attack your own party members. You can still cast spells on them. I think this was taken out to fix charmed enemies attacking themselves, but being able to attack your own party members is _REALLY_ useful for testing purposes if nothing else. I think it should be a priority to fix that issue so it can be added back in, because it saves us a lot of time having to constantly attack neutral characters and constantly reload the game to perform tests. Thanks in advance.
  10. We have charts & graphs. You can't get any visuals for like how much extra damage Might does because damage is a roll, and Might adds is a percentage based on the type of attack.
  11. Yeah it's either faster attacks, or reduce HP bloat. DT above 10 really amplifies HP bloat.
  12. Would be too good then probably, but from a Simulationist point of view it makes sense.
  13. No worries. If you disagree with something always feel free to combat my points of view - argument is healthy and if there's flaws in my logic about something then I'd rather have them pointed out so they can be corrected. However many things are simply differing opinions such as how the UI should look and stuff like that.
  14. It doesn't really have anything to do with the ruleset. It's everything else. Controls. UI Functions. Feedback. Responsiveness. Implementations of specific mechanics. Speed of combat. Speed of exploration ... all that stuff.
  15. I don't think the Savegame editor has inventory editing yet, just stats.
  16. Talked with Matt and I'm gonna split it into multiple threads so the discussion is more focused. Attributes will come first.
  17. Yeah tbh getting a bit sick of those Tartyanco, doesn't add anything to the discussion acting like that.
  18. Current attribute system actually really works for role-playing in and outside of combat. Especially outside of combat. What's gimping the system is Perception and Resolve. Hopefully that will change soon I have an idea to solve it.
  19. People generally only abuse stuff in games if they can't win otherwise, I've found. Sure, there's people that cheese the curd out of everything though.
  20. I have to agree with Sarex tbh. There are a few threads where stuff gets a bit out of control and there are arguments, but it's usually always started by the same 10 or so people. Pretty much everyone else has been pretty good regarding feedback about the game in this section of the forum. Perhaps you simply just disagree with the majority of opinions or something.
  21. That type of play is not necessary in the IE games unless you are bad at the game IMO.
