  1. Some stuff in 4E was good. It is good for video games. I did not enjoy playing it as much as I did 2E or 3E. The HP bloat was pretty bad as well, but I reduced HP to 75% for all creatures when I DM'd a few games in 2009.
  2. Infinitron has the beta, but on the Codex he takes part in the defense of the game systems of the Kickstarters without actually having played the game, or much of the game. Some of the stuff he says is pretty fair, but some of it lacks perspective due to that fact.
  3. Interrupt chance is modified whether the hit is a graze or a crit (halved or doubled), therefore it relies on Accuracy vs Defense. For every point of Accuracy you have, you are increasing your chance of scoring an Interrupt. The inverse applies with Concentration. Each point in a defense opposes the opponent's accuracy. That extra point could be the difference between a hit and a crit, thus reducing the chance of interrupt by 50% So? They are literally the reason why they're still in, if you had read any developer posts on the topic you'd know. The facts won't be changed. That would be fine in a game where you don't have too many items in the game, but this is a "pick up the kitchen sink" type of game, not as much as Ultima 7, but still. That would just be incredibly banal IMO. I think this inventory/stash system creates more inventory management than the IE games too. Also pay to use your stash (inn, or camping supplies worth 300gp) or go to your stronghold, but craft an item on the spot ... cool story bro Haha I was exaggerating. It's the same clicks, 5 clicks total to equip an item on another character. Click item, drag item and click item slot, click portrait to change characters, click item and drag into slot. Same as the IE games except horribly worse inventory. BG2 is the only IE game where you pause heaps. In the others it's not required anywhere near as much. I seriously doubt that. Not all design issues are systemic. Dunno how much of the forums you read but of the frequent posters it's pretty easy to identify who understands the IE mechanics better than others.
  4. There's quite a lot of people who have been putting in the hard yards as well. I haven't been reporting as many bugs as other people. Headbomb, mutonizer, PrimeJunta, IndiraLightfoot, Waywocket, Matt516, Dray Truoc, CatatonicMan, Hormalakh, Ink Blot, Ark Evensong ... many others Headbomb has like 5 times more bug reports than anyone else. Over the last few days mutonizer and Ink Blot have probably reported the most
  5. Btw I did this the other day after Osvir said I didn't show enough emotion in my videos:
  6. Most of the stuff I suggest is mostly grounded in what the Infinity Engine games did. I'm not sure if many at OE have the time to fire up Icewind Dale or an equivalent and have a look at how the old games did things, but that's mostly what I've been doing (I remember how most stuff works anyway).
  7. Welcome to Australia: will probably get censored by a mod, but it's worth watching hahah.
  8. I am from Australia, perhaps he's just not familiar with the accent. I should do an ochre video.
  9. Yeah DT as a Tank is *hugely* valuable.
  10. I'll have a treat for everyone soon. Me and Matt516 have been working on something for quite a few days now, it will be massive
  11. Haha i've seen you in the top 3 a few times. More than me some days too.
  12. Thanks bros I want this game to be the best it can be. Luckily I'm not employed at the moment (recently lost my job due to cuts) so I can afford to spend 15 hours a day testing the game v278 Day 1:
  13. Yeah it would be nice if you could still pixel hunt for hidden caches / detection would automatically be on when you stood still
  14. The encounter will actually be easier in the final game because you'll have good loot.
  15. It's not, but I think it's more intuitive. I personally enjoy the current system, but the ratios are out. Part of the goal is to make the system more intuitive, so that would be one way of doing it. It was listed in the "Known Issues" that Health is not intuitive until explained by someone else.
  16. Yeah the action speed is definitely slower than their target range (mid level IE games play)
  17. I've been doing videos of the same encounters with different classes, I have improved since my first video but the amount of Health lost after the first few beetle encounters on Hard doesn't vary all that much, due to the normalized damage output of the game. I can kill the beetles a little bit faster, but they're still dishing out roughly the same amount of damage every time. The only big difference appears to be when I get a Critical Hit with the Arbalest (which is the equivalent of two hits from the Morningstar, which is worth ~8 seconds of BB Fighter's time). I think I can get a little bit better once I become more familiar with the spells.
  18. It's the weekend. Apparently he can't access the forums from home or something.
  19. Paradox is working on it atm, there's a woman called Anna Strom or something (found on linkedin) that has tested PE for audio bugs and localization.
  20. Currently you cannot target AoE spells over patches of rocks and stuff that have no navmesh (pathable terrain) and these areas are stopping AoE spells from affecting units on the other side. I have seen some screenies of the Obsidian Level Design editor for PE where they have purple navmesh. I think they should have a special 'navmesh' that can be targeted by spells that they can put over patches of terrain where characters shouldn't be able to walk, but spells should affect. There may already be something like this currently, just that the rocky areas in the Dyrford Crossing don't have it. 21. Matt check your steam buddy
  22. Same as it is now. All healing would come from your health pool. Once you run out, that's when you're in danger of dying permanently.
  23. You can heal stamina during combat, it heals your stamina from your health pool
