  1. Class Guides are incoming. I did the High Intellect Fighter first, and included some errata from the last video at the beginning. I'll try and get around to answering everyone's questions. I'm taking votes on which class to do next, so if you have a preference, post a comment on youtube or the reddit page when it goes up.
  2. I've been pretty critical of the game over the course of development but I think it will beat the Fallout: New Vegas score. I'm not sure if I'd put money on a 90+ but it's not off the cards.
  3. Solution: Put your ranged characters a bit closer to the chanter. Give the Chanter a High Intellect Problem solved.
  4. I don't believe it adds any decisions. By default without engagement the same decisions exist, it's just that there is no penalty for disengaging. All disengagement attacks do is penalize you for one certain action (moving while engaged) which actually makes that option not very viable compared to the other options available. The IE mod removes the disengagement attacks but keeps the AI part of the system, and IMO it's a lot better because it doesn't punish movement in combat. Positioning is still important and you now have the option to re-configure your frontline without penalty. The things that break engagement (interrupts, disables, movement abilities) are all just as good as they were before, IMO. I deliberately tried to keep my opinion on the system in the video pretty muted so people could make up their own minds, and tried to clearly explain how to play with the system.
  5. stay away from 4chan, I just accidentally saw spoilers for character arcs and the endgame
  6. Missed this post sorry. The prologue is super easy. You can get into trouble if you're not careful after that though, much like BG1.
  7. Do you know if I can override my press version with the release version? (I'm going to use GOG for my Royal edition and hopefully Steam for my el cheapo key). BAdler wasn't sure.
  8. Bester found one crash bug with the last beta version. It's been fixed for the Day 1 patch and to for it to happen you had to try and reload combat while you had a summoned weapon equipped. Other than that I haven't seen one for a while. No, it will just break engagement.
  9. I'll show it off later in my guide, but I would focus on Intellect, Perception and Resolve. Use a Weapon and Shield and take defensive/shield-based talents. Chanting is passive, it doesn't require you to do anything and then every three chants you can cast an invocation. It's pretty passive, low micromanagement build that is very effective.
  10. Depends how much you enjoy combat. If you want to be forced to play quite optimally - play on Hard. That's my favourite difficulty.
  11. No, you can stack accuracy from a variety of sources but you can only have one from a particular source each or something. I really wish they didn't remove Accuracy from Perception because it would have been a great pick on everyone without being imbalanced due to the damage calculation changes. If you were going a crit build you'd probs go single wielded spear with accuracy enchantments, some crit damage mults, weapon focus ... etc I need to remember to look up the buff suppression rules and talk about them in my next video.
  12. IIRC, Priests have a x3 Multiplier unless they altered it. Chanters have x4.
  13. You'll be able to rest as often as you want, just not in the wilderness - you'll have to go back to town/stronghold etc haha. Tank Chanter or tank Paladin fits that attribute spread perfectly.
  14. Even the press package has some incorrect info. I watched quill's thingo and there was a few bits in there that were not correct. I might address those in my next video.
  15. I'll bet it's loud under load.
  16. Most of the tanking talents are universal, I'm just saying that their low health multiplier makes the time that they are able to tank for during an adventuring day limited. There are several creatures in the game with high per hit damage, as well.
  17. I reported a bug in the backer beta related to party members being dominated - Engagements are not deleted properly if they are engaging party members and then the dominate ends. Could be semi-related to that. Pet probably needs to be switched to immune to engagement though.
  18. Priests have a bad health multiplier, so fact remains if you make a Priest tank, they'll just run out of health real quick. They also have a crap deflection too. For tanks IMO Paladin, Chanter, Fighter, Ranger, Monk Barbarian has bad Deflection, which makes them worse than those five. I wouldn't tank with the other classes. Personally I think the way Health/Endurance works makes it a bit limiting.
  19. Should be fine. There is a companion for all of those classes that aren't your main. Should be pretty good for hard difficulty as long as you play to their strengths etc.
