  1. I don't know if this helps any of you guys, but when the enemies are disappearing, how are you loading? Is it a death and "Reload Last Checkpoint", or are you selecting the save manually from the "Load Checkpoint" screen? When I ran into this issue, it was always when reloading with the first method. Reloading the save manually brought the enemies back again. Every checkpoint this happened with, it would have the same behaviour 100% of the time for me. Would be interested to see if it is the same for other people.
  2. I've just finished my first run on the PC version. There are bugs in the game, but I honestly haven't run into anything game breaking. The mouse acceleration and stuttering issues I had were fixed with a couple ini tweaks. I've also run into some issues with enemies not reappearing when clicking "Reload Last Checkpoint" after a death, but everything appears normally if I manually select the save from the "Load Checkpoint" menu. All that said, there have been other people that have more serious issues, but they do seem to be the minority so far. I'll say that the biggest concern I'd have about your level of enjoyment from AP is likely not going to be technical issues, but your response to the combat mechanics. Although it may look like a third person shooter, it really does have RPG combat. Trying to shot someone 2 feet away can and will fail spectacularly unless you take the time to let your targeting reticule zero in on the enemy. I think this issue is quite possibly the single biggest hurdle that most people will face when playing the game. If you can get over that, I suspect you'll enjoy it. If not, then AP probably isn't the game for you. Ideally you could rent the game first, or sneak in a session with a friend's copy to see how you respond to the combat mechanics. If you enjoy it, go ahead and purchase it! Part of the draw to the game is all the different ways that situations can play out in how the game world reacts to your actions and that requires multiple playthroughs to get the full effect. Hopefully this is helpful.
  3. The concept of the minigames are pretty easy to get my head around, but I'm going to disagree with your statement that none of them are hard. There seems to be a fairly large split on the issue in this thread. I'd be curious to know just what the division is in terms of console/PC users. A fastest hack time of 5 seconds tells me nothing though. My current fastest hack is nearly 3 seconds. I just managed to get extremely lucky in code placement. Both codes were in the top three rows and didn't require crossing the grid. EDIT: Thorton: Oddly enough, I had no problem hacking all those systems in the CIA safehouse. I bought the intel to help with that and the reset timer was pretty quick, but I think I still had at least 6 letter combos so it wasn't nearly as bad as the 4 letter bomb combos.
  4. Not sure. I didn't have any at that point in the level.
  5. I had level 13 in the skill. The final mission in Rome was a nightmare with the hacking there. 15 seconds to hack, 4 letter combinations and resets every 4 seconds? Screw you hacking minigame!

Two outdoor games next year? Montreal@Calgary in February and Washington@Pittsburgh on January 1st. No Bettman, no. Montreal really doesn't need to play in another outdoor game yet and definitely not one against Calgary. And why is Pittsburgh playing again? If you want Calgary to play, bring in Vancouver or Edmonton, hell Colorado would do as well! Dunno who else I'd match up with Washington, but why not give Chicago or New York an outdoor game? Too much focus on Crosby and Ovechkin. :/
  7. Hacking minigame. You have 60 seconds to get the install playing, but if you fail armed guards burst through your windows and attack you. You might just want to wait for the unlock...
  8. Patrick issued a challenge to define RPGs that encompassed a number of specific titles and exclude a number of others. Right here. Prize was 3 months MMO time or one new release video game.
  9. Nooo! Why did I click the link?! Damn you spoilers!
  10. More importantly, why aren't they breaking it here?
  11. Because Chris Avellone hates you.
  12. Glad to see so many people enjoying the game. You guys are making my day. I like how you decided to quote the one guy who doesn't have the game yet. Almost like driving that screw in just a little bit tighter for those of us that live in NA and have to wait till the 1st.

I'm sorry Hurlshot. I didn't know my powers of suck were so strong. I mean, a series sweep by the Blackhawks? Montreal shut out 3 times so far? WTF is happening?!

What Deraldin is trying to say is his predictions are the kiss of death. 0-4 in the second round and looks like 0-2 in the third round.

If Philly wins the cup I will murder Scott Hartnell I'm predicting Philly wins the cup in the next round, so we should be pretty safe.
  18. His last post was May 6th but his profile says that he was last on yesterday. Even if he hasn't been posting, it looks like he's still logging in on occasion.

Game 2 wasn't nearly as bad, but yes, that would be nice.

There's 5 of them! Woo! That almost makes up for the crappy performance in Philly for game 1.
  21. why would anyone do that it was a good game IMO Because some people don't think it is a good game? Because some people think that it's merely okay rather than 90+ best ever material? Because Bethesda Fallout is Fallout in name only?

I have two things to say. 1. *headdesk* 2. Hurlshot, it's all on you man. Go San Jose.
  23. $69.99 consoles games + tax. It's been awhile since I've seen that price on something for sale and not just pre-order listings though. Bah, where I get my games they cost 59,99$, like they should. None of that silly FutureShop 10$ more BS. I get a fair number of my games from Future Shop, mainly because they seem to do better than any of the other stores in town at actually bringing in PC games. I haven't seen a $69.99 game in months though.

  25. They split them up by region?
