  1. I thought Assassin's Creed was rather hit and miss. The plot was crap, it took itself way too seriously, and the combat was atrocious. Running across a city could be awesome, especially with soldiers chasing after you, but the controls were too hands off. Also, planning out and executing the assassinations could be awesome, but the death monologues completely knocked the goodness out of them. What ended undoing the game for me, however, was the repetitive and bland gameplay. If you've played one city, you've played them all and the side missions were completely uninspired collectathons. In a sentence, the game's core idea was great but the execution was lacking.
  2. I think the MGS4 bundle was designed to get rid of the last of the "old model" PS3's. Honestly it's probably more cost effective to pick up a PS2 right now. That's what I've been thinking of doing for a long time, now. I would probably connect it to my PC screen. So many PS2 games I'd like to give a try and can't.
  3. That's what they already do in the privacy of their bedroom.
  4. You might as well play RE4 on the PC with all the insane high res and Bloom mods, if you want an improved RE4.
  5. Mass Effect comes to mind. And KOTOR.
  6. It's better than getting no CRPGs or CRPGs with crappy stories IMO. Unfortunately, we're already getting CRPGs with crappy stories. And we still manage to hail those games for their plots.
  7. I have just started playing Chronicles of Riddick, a game I've heard well of, but which I've been avoiding due to the movie being crap, and not liking Vin Diesel. However, after playing through the tutorial mission and a bit of the first mission, I have to say I've enjoyed what I've seen. The only problem so far is the change to a third person perspective every time you grapple stairs, ledges and the like. It removes you from the game, it's bloody useless, and reminds me that I'm playing Vin Diesel. >_
  8. 20/20 hindsight? I wonder how it got all those high scores(Metacritic 96) and huge popularity then(6.5 million copies sold [Wikipedia])? If it wasn't a good game standing on it's own, what made it good? Broken Steam? Well managed hype, it was a sequel to an incredibly successful game and it used Source which is a great, moddable engine. Also, my opinion has nothing to do with hindsight. It has to do with me having played better FPSes than HL2 when I first played it.
  9. The problem is HL2 didn't have all the finesse of 2001 shooters. It wasn't a very good game, standing on its own, back when it was released.
  10. My mom watched me playing AVP once as an alien, going around, eating people's heads. She screamed "don't do that!" at me.
  11. So, it seems like Ben is the one sending the agents to kidnap the Oceanic 6, in case they don't want to go back to the island of their own free will. And the custody for Aaron is a similar deal. I really didn't expect Charlotte to get back up again.
  12. I guess my life is similar to yours, though. I blink and the women go off running.
  13. It's like Shryke lives inside a movie or something. It appears that he blinks and the women come running.
  14. Scrubs isn't half as good as it used to be, but it still can be so awesome.
  15. It seems to me that what you describe would be a lot more cumbersome, Llyr. You would spend most of the game scrolling and scrolling through infinite menus to get anything done.
  16. Isn't this supposed to be an infinity engine style game? How is that going to work on a console? The way I see it, they'll either beat the complexity out of the game with a stick to accommodate gamepads, or the game will be a nightmare to control on consoles.
  17. From what I've played of the demo, I have a hard time figuring out why someone who liked FEAR wouldn't like FEAR 2. It seems like the same game with upgraded graphics and toned down challenge level. It seems to get the same things right and the same things wrong as the first one.
  18. Rainbow Six used to be awesome when it had a brain.
  19. Or you can ask someone who already knows. Through the Internet, even! Anyway, all you have to do to upgrade a computer is check which motherboard you own, go to the mobo's company site, check which kind of processors, graphics cards and RAM it supports, and get the required components. And if you are not sure you can ask someone. Really, computer hardware savvy aren't exactly in short supply these days. Someone may not know much about the subject, but I'm sure everyone knows one or two people who do have the necessary knowledge.
  20. Yeah you are bro. OK sis, i will be your bro then. And no one is saying the PC is not more powerful than a console, I am for example saying that it is not an option for average gamer customer because it is still 200USD more expensive than Xbox 360... try to read whole my posts not only few paragraphs... Who doesn't already own a PC these days? Upgrading an office PC to run games should be cheaper than buying an Xbox 360.
