  1. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Bioware is now the Squaresoft of the west.
  2. I miss an interface on a PC game that is designed for a mouse and keyboard setup.
  3. The interface is atrociously designed, too.
  4. I like how the intro to Fallout 3 sticks very closely to the format of F1 and 2's intros while completely missing the point at the same time.
  5. I had a rather weird end to my day, today, where a bunch of stuff happened to me for the first time. I bought Fallout 3 for the PC, today. This, in itself, isn't that weird, even if a bit unexpected. However, not only did I buy Fallout 3, but I bought it used, in a Portuguese Game, from a fairly hot female Portuguese gamer(WAT???), who proceeded to offer me noob advice on how to play F3. Her advice was in the form of a question, when she asked whether I was going to cheat. At first I thought she meant VATS, but I just pointed out that it's a pretty easy game, which prompted her to explain that F3 takes 300 hours to finish. I told her that that was a load of marketing bollocks, although not in so many words. I left the store wondering if I was having some sort of drug induced dream, or if this chain of events was one of the signs of the apocalypse. I'm guessing her reaction to me buying F3 means either that: a)I don't look like a gamer; b)I look old or; c)both.
  6. The ones who insert the "tapping a few keys on the keyboard turns a grainy low-res image into a super sharp high-res image" thing, into their plots, of course.
  7. Queens Of The Stone Age - White Wedding Pretty awesome cover.
  8. That's what you say now. The idiot Hollywood writers of today are the visionaries of tomorrow.
  9. Which reasons are these? Well, the moves are all mocapped, so with the amount of time spent in the studio it seems unlikely that they would have a plethora of different strikes and only one takedown for each situation (armed/unarmed front/back). Martial Artists also tend to know a variety of takedowns, and many like to show them off. Add to that that the CQC is it's own skill and level progression is supposed to grant new combos etc., and it seems like too significant a portion of the game to skimp on visually. Ao2 and K&L didn't even have much in the way of mechanics governing CQC, it was just something you used when you ended up too close. In the case of AP it's a "weapon" skill with its own progression like pistols and assault rifles. That's just my edumacated guesswork though, Sawyer might step in at any moment to tell us (hint hint). The game currently features multiple takedowns. I even did the mocap for one of them. Nice. Do we win anything if we can figure out which one when the game releases? It's the one where Thorton takes a bad guy down by stabbing him with a pocket protector. It's, at the same time, geeky and awesome because it takes the "everything is a weapon" mantra to the next level.
  10. The graphics were rather nice. The gameplay seemed like Prince of Persia with guns.
  11. It's pretty hard, but I finished it. Because I'm awesome.
  12. KOTOR2 Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Super Star Wars Jedi Academy KOTOR1 X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter and Jedi Knight were awesome, but I never owned them.
  13. Formula 1 was awesome in the late 80s and early 90s. Now, it's awfully predictable and boring. Of course, it's still better than hillbillies turning left. Edit: Stuff like this just doesn't happen anymore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im70dqUQfUk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cegEkKId5-U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb8UFso1nyM
  14. That's, actually, an awesome gameplay feature.
  15. The only character she is able to play is the sultry, evil dumbass, and even that she isn't particularly good at. Soul Survivors and that horrid Tru Calling thing scarred me for life. It's really annoying too, because the casting of Dollhouse is generally spot on. As you mentioned, the chick who plays Sierra isn't bad, at all.
  16. She was made for the role in the sense that it's her project, I guess. She was the one who pushed for its production, I think.
  17. I jaw saw the 6th episode and it really was a cut above the previous ones. However, I still don't know how Dollhouse can survive Dushku. She really is godawful.
  18. In Daggerfall, you basically could get stuck in almost anything. Also, in The Elder Scrolls games, in general, falling through the ground was always a distinct possibility.
  19. Sands of Time is a truly awesome platformer.
  20. You think he was wearing a bulletproof vest or somehow the bullet didn't hit a vital part? What the bullet hit, exactly I don't know, but I'm sure that the Losties will be involved in saving his life. Jack, for example, would be a good bet at doing the saving. Ix-nay on the paradox. Hay.
  21. And there was much rejoicing.
  22. He's not, in any way, dead.
  23. Ben isn't dead because, well, he's always been alive. I actually thought they wouldn't have Sayid pretend-kill Ben because one, it was predictable, and two it would force them to have Sayid shoot Ben in a way that seems lethal but actually, isn't. If Sayid was such a cold blooded killer with a deep seated hatred towards Ben, he would have shot Ben in the face, or something.
  24. And why's that?
