  1. Sweet, what are you going to name the clan? Obsidian Society of Brutes? Et tu Brute? I'll take suggestions.
  2. DMC4 and SF4 also use it, and I think Dead Rising 2 will too. It's pretty gorgeous, and brilliantly optimized.
  3. My brute is really, really close to level 10, I think that even if I lose all fights tomorrow I may get a new level.
  4. Well, it's definitely a huge improvement over Oblivion and I'm enjoying it well enough. The vampire quest was great fun, for example. However, it still has huge issues that go a long way to mar my compliments of the game. The combat, the rules system and the shoddy writing really take a lot from the game's quality. And as I'm playing it on the PC, the GUI is really awful and it's shocking that Bethesda pulled the same stuff with the GUI that they did with Oblivion.
  5. You get 1 exp every time a pupil levels up.
  6. I'm getting close but 6 defeats in a row have slowed me down a fair bit. Two or three more days should get me there. Also it doesn't help that of my 44 pupils only half a dozen are actually active...
  7. Two dogs and a hammer at level 6? Oh, c'mon!
  8. There are a few of us here too. I have the same wants as you do and funnily enough I've been lowering myself to playing with the animals on here too. But there's no point, apes enjoy slinging **** around. I don't. I'm a fan of the open exploration type RPGs as well, and my problem with Bethesda is how poorly I feel it does the open, sandbox, freeform exploration style of RPGs Kjarista mentions. Honestly, as far the open world building goes, I think Bethesda has been on backwards track after Daggerfall was released. As I've stated before, the problem with Bethesda's games is how their worlds always feel dead, shallow and repetitive with too little world exploration to make me go back to them. Their game worlds are like overgrown versions of Mass Effect's uncharted planets. In that respect, Gothic 2 is infinitely better than any Elder scrolls game.

I'll have to buy it first. I'm kinda hoping valve will do a promo on it next weekend.
  10. Kagemusha would like to have a word with you.

    Stupid timezones...
  12. That and an intro of gray skies, mutant birds and destroyed suburbia could be quite awesome. And on the subject of mutations and deformities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVm9q5ZRG1s
  13. What with mutations and such running rampant, I thought the choice would be obvious.
  14. Feargus is directing a basketball game, obviously. Guess what the name of the game will be.
  15. Do a search for VATS of Sawyer's posts. Basically, he doesn't like VATS because of its potential for exploits. VATS is game breaking because of its disruption of F3's basic real time mechanics.

At what time do you peoplz usually play?
  17. Three words: Story, story, and story. ANd one more word: characters. Actually, I'd kinda disagree here. The main problem with Fallout 3 isn't the story, but rather how bloody unreactive the whole game world is. Nothing you do has any effect around you, and the world never ever pushes back. The problem is that Fallout 3 is deader than a wasteland, and personally I think that has to be the starting point for New Vegas if Obsidian wants to take the game anywhere.
  18. It isn't about the crashes it's about the gameplay bugs, which sour the experience quite a bit, especially if you're playing the campaign.
  19. The problem with M2TW is that the AI just can't keep up with the more complex campaign map.
  20. All the devs hanging around without posting are unnerving.
  21. Well, to say FO3 was complete fail is to say Morrowind, Oblivion, etc. were complete fail as RPGs. I think that's kind of a ridiculous statement since all of the above were very successful. IMO, it's just a different kind of WRPG, not inherently better or worse. I don't think he was talking about commercial success.
  22. Please, please, please, please include melee and unarmed combat that doesn't completely suck. Please.
  23. For me, the main problem with Fallout 3's engine is that it probably comes with VATS attached. Also, combat in Fallout 3 was mostly unimpressive and bloody awful on the melee side of things. And then of course, there's the atrocious animations and faces.
