Dante's Inferno
12th century? Someone should turn The Old Man And The Sea into a strategy game using the new Total War engine. Epic fishing struggles are the future of gaming.

Maybe D'anna was a lesbian apostle found only in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Or something.

LOST
I don't know, the whole plot is starting to sound more and more like a big self fulfilling prophecy, so that makes perfect sense. Perhaps the Island is a device that keeps the timeline intact?

Dollhouse
I think he's implying she "works hard" to get her roles. I've never seen her being even a barely competent actress. She always acts as if she's playing the same character, and even that, she doesn't do particularly well. Considering Dollhouse seems to hinge on a character who is supposed to change her personality constantly, this really doesn't bode well for the show. I didn't believe for a second that she was some sort of miracle hostage negotiator.

AS far as the action is concerned, the difference between the Bourne movies and Taken is that Bourne is shown as a badass by how he gets through things beaten up and sometimes seriously injured, while in Taken, the main character just plows through everyone without breaking a sweat. This, not only takes away the thrill of the fights, but also makes an already too old character more unbelievable and hard to empathize with. Furthermore, the poor script really doesn't compensate in the empathy department. He was a government sanctioned serial killer, who ignored his daughter all his life, but it's ok because it allowed him to magically save her life when she got kidnapped, just like his overbearing paranoia predicted. It's not bad parenting if everyone is evil and out to get your daughter.

It would also explain Kara's ugly mannishness.

I'd say that taking the viewer out of Taken's idiotic plot would be a good thing. Idiotic? You mean to say that the premise is implausible, or that one guy could do anything about it is implausible? I wasn't really thinking of implausibility, although it is implausible. I was actually thinking about how hamfisted the script is and about the stupid notion that Neeson's quest magically redeems him as a father.

The Grom is absolutely right.

Names names...
It was totally hilarious how the Normans' names in Asterix, which ended in -af, completely left the Gauls in stitches.

Any awesome animations when using Gun feats?
There are two big items that differentiate AP from ME, though. One is that conversations are timed, one attempt only affairs, and the other is that AP will have proper melee and a stealth option. Furthermore, I'm hoping/expecting that the combat in AP will be a lot better than in ME, as ME's combat was mostly crap. If you add the things that Obsidian usually does better than Bioware, at the very least will be getting a vastly improved upon ME from Obsidian. If I worked in Obsidian's marketing departments, I'd try to distance AP form ME, though.

Assassin's Creed
Because AC's writers didn't think their own writing was good enough to create empathy between a medieval Muslim and the player, without artificially turning Altair into generic present day bloke #37. Or maybe I'm just guessing.

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
Actually, I feel that BSG improved over the seasons, and that improvement has been directly related to a decrease in the importance of space towards the happenings on the fleet. The appeal of BSG is that, while it is set in space, it isn't really about the space faring and fighting.

Yahtzee reviews
I actually think he's better when reviewing older games, perhaps because points of view on older games are a bit more settled. I'd like it if he went on a revisionist spree, and started reviewing all the hailed games of yore.

So, uh. EA/Starbreeze working on a new Bourne game
I've hated him ever since I first saw him in Fast and Furious. I think he doesn't any charisma, he always comes across as a big lummox trying to be smart, and he has yet to appear in a movie I've enjoyed.

I'm playing Riddick right now, and it's quite great fun, despite my hatred of the movie and the actor.
