A dog companion?
A god companion, now that I could get behind. Or a demigod, at least.

How Immersive & Involved do you want Character Creation to be?
Crooked Bee replied to Industrial Scribe's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)A character sheet is all I need. I don't mind other styles of character creation too as long as they complement/lead up to and not replace it.

A dog companion?
Er no. Too banal.

Optional Full Party Creation, BG/IWD style
Crooked Bee replied to Saber-Scorpion's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)True, but didn't they say in one of the updates that companions won't be forced on you and you will even be able to solo the game if you want? If so, then companions can't be so crucial to the story as to preclude a custom party playthrough. It'd be like a solo playthrough but with 6 characters.

Optional Full Party Creation, BG/IWD style
Crooked Bee replied to Saber-Scorpion's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My favorite IE game is IWD so I really hope they include full party creation, even if optional. I don't see how else, given the limited number of recruitable companions, we could freely experiment with party builds, which is an important part of what CRPGs are about to me. An all wizard party anyone? I can only hope Josh Sawyer agrees with me on that.

Mega dungeon (didn't see anyone make it a poll and Obsidian said it'd be a good idea to do a poll...)
I'd love a good and long optional dungeon, with some tough encounters and puzzles. Would add a lot to the game, as far as I'm concerned.
- Mega-dungeons. I want one. With tunnels.

[Merged] George Ziets as as the 2.8 million stretch goal
Here's one of Feargus Urquhart's answers in the Kickstarter comments that might be relevant to this thread: I really hope he's talking about ZIets (and not David Gaider).

[Merged] George Ziets as as the 2.8 million stretch goal
I concur. Having George Ziets on board for this project would be super duper mega übercool.

(4) What do the words mean?
An RPG Codex poster has noticed that "Eir Glanfath" is an anagram of "The Fang Lair", so it's going to be a Vampire RPG. On a related note, The Fang Lair is also a location in The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge.

The Kickstarter Thread
Yeah, I think Jonas is evading the issue a bit. You criticized the game's combat and character development for being somewhat bland, and honestly I find it unlikely they're going to change the systems substantially at this point. That sounds like a significant flaw in a tactical game, so it's only natural Jonas wasn't 100% satisfied with your preview. (To be honest I was waiting for your preview to decide whether I should back the game or not, and after reading it I decided against it despite your recommendation. So there's that.)

Wasteland 2 Kickstarter
The important thing about this Kickstarter is to show that people are still willing to PAY for an oldschool turn- and party-based CRPG. So far, things are looking good. I've just upped my pledge to $250+shipping: a signed collector's edition, yay!

The Codex
The Codex is fun. To me it mostly means the Playground, with all its cool LPs, but overall, the love for old RPGs on the Codex combined with total freedom (of speech, love, hate, whatever) makes all other forums seem... lesser, somehow.
