  1. I've done some testing it seems all mechanics to me. What do the manuals say? Especially the one you pay for.
  2. There has been imo a large enough swelling of reports on this to the point I feel it stands out that it is more game related, than pc related. At first the loads were pretty good, the more I played the slower it got. This isn't the first time a game has had that issue, I think every time that has been reported it ends up being on the game and not a pc. So it's not "your pc sucks dude" type thing, if it ran good 2 days ago, nothing else has happened other than progressing further into the game, game. When enough report it, makes it a point of focus for devs. This is where you throw down the "blame it on Unity" card! They have addressed one bug in assocation to this issue, why not a fair chance there is more? My pc I keep it pretty lean and clean and when I read my performance vs others with other games, seems to be on par. Most games there isn't complaints of long saves or loads, sometimes though. So when you get more posts about load/save speed, probably game related. You say you can transition in 2-3 seconds max, that is a save and a load, yes that is very quick and I don't think you'd hear a word if that was happening for almost everyone, or even double that. The complaint part that pushes me towards software is "it gets slowers are you get deeper in the game" and they found 1 bug already that if you used X that caused a problem. So perhaps you haven't used X yet. History: DA:O had bad load times, people complained, someone threw down "your pc sucks dude" card. DA:2 comes out, fixed, because Bioware addressed loading in DA:2, it was on their end.
  3. This happened to me and would like a confirmation if correct. Early game, release version you could steal in front of ghosts, their ghost, so no big, they don't care. Now later in the game, latest version, I have stolen in front of recent ghosts and they go into red-ring battle mode and it's a fight. Was this always how it worked or something changed or bugged?
  4. Isn't is doing an autosave as well each load? I beleive someone has a mod that shuts that autosave off, however being in game option would be much better. (As mentioned not updated or compatible with the main mod) I agree with this if someone has suggested it... Being the year 2015 of our Lord, with the Ram we have, can we not keep the main map in memory when you enter things like buildings and caves. So when you exit back out into them, they are instant? I dunno...
  5. And correct me if I'm wrong, human types (name which they give them slippiing my mind...) don't give XP for killing because they aren't in the Bestiary.
  6. Right I modified zoom from 1 to .7 to get in even closer and that is not normal for me in other games, but when fighting inside I like it zoomed all the way in.
  7. Funny you say ddo, it does have the taunt power which has been there since I beleive 2006, but they more than doubled threat generation just yesterday to many builds. Don't know what you mean about you aren't allowed to die at all, there are rez's and shrines in dungeons. Yes you can wipe if you don't play well, that my friend is called a challenge. Even then you can rejuvinate at a tavern and renter the quest.
  8. I was a little disappointed with the OP's post. I think it would have read better like this... Alright Obsidian, there's really only ONE problem with this game... and that is... Everyone has their own one issue with it! Please fix.
  9. Yeah starting at level 9, something like pick one level 1 spell to become per encounter 2-3 times. Level 11, pick one additional level 1 or 2 spell to become per encounter 2-3 times. Level 13, pick one additional 1-3 spell to be per encounter. What they have now does seem like too much sugar. But I haven't made it there, one thing the Wizard being weak, well before level 9 is a fallacy as well. Slicken followed by Fan of Flames is pretty powerful, level 1's.
  10. I'm a big believer your second game in a series is a reflection of how well your first game in the end was received by the players. Meaning you could sell gobs for the first one, get great reviews up front, but in the end the total score per player is known and if that dwindles downward enough, people won't buy the 2nd as much. And vice versa, if the second one does better, people loved the first. In BGEE's case it was new to the scene, an enhanced version of the classic, hooray! If we frequent some forums, whenever EE is now brought up, people say go by the GOG version and mod it, cheaper and better. So what happened is people were not overly impressed with EE, in fact well underwhelmed. Hence less sales moving forward, fool me once.
  11. Some assumptions, if it doesn't fit you move past, it's for the other guy with a similar issue, that dude right there... Just look at it this way, your parents put around 15 minutes into you and let'r rip, flaws and all with a lot of pride. Sounds like some paranoia's going on. When all the cute girls jump in the lake naked, do you tell them give me a few hours to analyze? Perhaps the water is too cold.
  12. We were told the #'s would be easily modifiable prior to release? Is that true? If so, don't talk the talk OP, walk the walk and send me the download link!
  13. Honestly I really like the OP's idea. What would happen is the community would create voice mods for us and we could dabble with it. They build the facility, we take it from there. Sort of how a write as you read method vs wall o text, with a speed slider to fit all players preferences. I think the op's suggestion is a good RPG industry one.
  14. Dungeons seems to be fine with me. In town, you should only be able to go into Stealth if others can't see you, otherwise they call you out for suspicious behavior. So perhaps make it work as is but other friendly NPCs wont allow you. For D:OS I had to modify sneak so NPC's had 360 degrees of viewing, it was stupid being in a room, waiting from them to turn, steal, then sell their **** back to them or when they turn around the place is barren and they don't notice. Sort of related. No sneaky with friendly NPC's around. One of your players when attempting would say... "Can't do that here."
  15. Josh, whom I just saw for the first time in a Twitch stream a couple days before release said he also prefers options, however it is measured in how difficult it would be. So they must have weighed that. One can argue, it is simple, you have it so you can do it out of combat, bada-bing, bada-bang! BUT...Do you expect them to balance for pre-buffs or just for the players that don't use out of combat buffs? My guess this is where the difficulty came in, if we make the toggle how do we balance from there? So in regards to out of combat buffs, would we be ok that no tweaks made to the difficulty? If so, I think that is the argument you take to Obsidian. Be clear, because otherwise they see "how do we balance this? too hard? next suggestion...". Somewhere there are closet players that may say this games is too easy, but still want it easier with big time buffing. A hunch. I'm develpoer supportive when it comes to an option where there are solid reasons for either side that splits the audience. So whichever they choose, that is the game, that is their decision, like it or leave it. There are so many 50/50's is game design, that we rake our heroes over the coals when it isn't our side of the 50. No matter what they were screwed. But the heat was coming either way, pre-buffs or no pre-buffs, this thread was going to exist.
  16. Wow I've heard of rose colored glasses, these are deep musky brown. You could be right, but it is like you already feel betrayed. I look at it as Obsidian just rec'd some major cred points and is easily on the benefit of any doubt side of things. They went out and made a IE spirited game that many have been clamoring for years for and still no respect. In fact assuming deception from them, they just did us a huge and now we should be skeptical of them. Yeah that's well grounded. pfff Considering the state of game industry as a whole I think my course of action is way more probable than the rosy one. I've only read this line, plenty to work off of that. This is like reading Facebook posters, I have it figure out you might not, unless you like it. That everything is getting worse, kids these days, Obomber's fault. Nonsense. How about these facts, there has been a golden age resurgence of Iso RPG's, so when you say it is getting worse? Personally and honestly, as a whole it is way better than it ever has if resolution benefits alone, even vs the magical 90's. So many good TB games have been released the past two years. But we still show the scars of the dry years, I get that, but there is a point imo where you have to put the guns down Mr. Whales, the was is over. Caveman, preached doom and talked about kids these days, but someone we've advanced quite a bit. There is some innate need to be gloomy. EDIT: Read the rest, yeah lets wait and see, there is plenty of time to bitch and moan in the future. I don't agree with the state of the industry, I don't care what mobile or console games are doing, I'm talking right here in the TB/ISO world, it's blooming beautifully right now.
  17. If anyone can do that, it is a very small group. I can't do it. Since you talk big, can you make a video and link it for us? How about we learn from recent TB history. The game will be balanced much further over the next 6 months. I do find Hard like a Normal, but far from a total roll, unless you've found a super combo and if one did, why need buffs on top then? I'd say report it and see if they can nerf the power, but then are you really after that or wanting to prove that there are crazy powers, but also reap the benefit of those in the comfort of your own? Fantasy games need to adopt the rule of alcohol, do not mix. So here, have your buff, make it strong, make it long, but no mixing. At least it alleviates the chore of it and would be easier to balance a single state boosted vs every one. NWN's was ridiculous, imo. Nope anyone can do it. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72554-hard-mode-is-too-easy/page-16?do=findComment&comment=1637512. This is a link to the forum about hard being too easy. Just to clarify it doesn't start off too easy. Its the XP issue. If you are stupid enough to explore and do sidequests you get horribly over leveled. Its not some kind of skill thing or anything. Just get to defiance bay and make the mistake of doing all of the quests there. After that you will rarely if ever need to use abilities in combat. If you happen to go down into the Dungeon of the Endless or go and do some bounty quests because it sounds like fun .... you will seriously be in trouble. Yes some will find it very easy, really we don't know the percentages on this. But if it is that easy, then we don't need buffs at all, so using a Drew Rosenhaus line, next question. Thanks for the link though, I will review it. Happy to see there was a command line to bump up to PotD, when needed.
