I don't really have anything to compare it to since I've never played it any other way and I've never really played any other MMO ever. The only difference seems to be you have limited character creation options in what race you can choose. For me I could only choose human, cyborg or zabrak. All the classes were open to play though, both republic and empire. There is a sprint option that subscribers get at level 1, but it unlocks at level 15 for me. It allows you to move faster out of combat. Doesn't really bother me. I got a big message that says I will gain experience at a slower rate past level 10. There are items you can get from quests that temporarily accelerate your experience gain so I can offset that a bit. I think my inventory space is also limited, but it hasn't been a problem yet. I'm only level 11, so I'm not sure what else might be limited, but so far I've had a good experience overall. Minimal lag as far as I can tell and friendly players that grouped with me.

Some friends of mine pestered me to try out TOR since its free to play now. Made a Zabrak female bounty hunter. I'm having some fun running around and rocket punching enemies, at which point I shout TIGER UPPERCUT! Story or quests haven't wowed me, but I just got off the starter planet, so hopefully things will pick up. Gonna try a flashpoint with friends this weeked, see how that goes.

I usually play male characters my first time through, but I don't mind playing female characters. Now I really want to go back and play NOLF 1 and 2. I have the CDs somewhere. I wish Monolith would make NOLF3.

Good interviews. I liked how they were pretty candid about the criticisms directed at Witcher 2 and they seemed earnest and ambitious to make the best game possible. Though I really enjoyed Skyrim, their criticisms were fair. If they are successful at blending open world exploration with a tight story, this will be a very special game. The interview with the two writers were also good. I like the direction they are taking the story.

I don't know anything about CM, but the video linked seems to be 'pacifist mode' which I guess makes the xenomorphs non-violent? It seemed that way in the video. So maybe it was done intentionally for a laugh. I can't wait for the next Arkham game. I thought the overall story for Arkham Asylum was a little anti-climactic, but everything else was great. I hope the rumors about a silver age Batman are false as I'd rather see the story continue from the aftermath of AC.

Cool news. A game between episodes 3 and 4 would be fun. Hope this sees the light of day.

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)
Azure79 replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
Nice job. Good thing I never got level drained. I would have been a low level character without any armor fighting a dragon. I live to fight another day! -
Nice. I really enjoyed both Witcher games and trust CDP will deliver a greatly realized world and interesting characters. I really hope the combat is much improved over the 2nd installment though. Most of the time I was rolling on the ground or running in circles and just couldn't believe Geralt was one of the best swordsmans in the world. The parrying was unresponsive and I could never tell what kind of attack Geralt would do. Sometimes he did a quick thrust, other times he would spin around and get killed. I finally just started using magic and potions almost completely and had more fun. Most recently, I personally had the most fun with close quarters combat in Batman AA/AC and Ninja Gaiden. I want something that's fast and fluid with a lot of options but while also giving the player total control over Geralt. Ninja Gaiden style might be too fast and flashy for the Witcher world, but I can see Geralt, with this access to grenades, traps, bombs and magic, adopt a fighting style a lot like Batman in the AA and AC games.

Update #41: D&D: Dwarves and Doors
Azure79 replied to The Guildmaster's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Thank you for the continuing updates. It's really interesting to see what kind of problems game devs tackle and how games get made, although its just a glimpse.- 143 replies

Enoch: Yeah, I always thought the game would be more tense if the enemies had similar abilities as yours and used them in the same way. Enemy vanguards could charge you and knock you from cover, engineers could disable your shields etc. I think they could do it somewhat in ME1 as I remember being biotically disabled a few times. I always thought the biggest plot hole in ME3 was why the Reapers just didn't relay themselves to the Citadel and take control of the Mass Relay network once they reached the Milky Way.

I like the concept art for the Orlan a lot. I like that Woedica has a little horror aspect to her. You're walking down a street and when suddenly an old woman appears and begins to stalk you. That's nightmare fuel. I have been watching too many Japanese horror movies.

How'd you like the gameplay? I enjoy ME2 and ME3 gameplay a lot. It's a lot of fun pulling off combos and sending enemies flying/stumbling everywhere. A lot more fun than conventional 3rd person shooters for me.

Legally Obscene: Rape, Statutory Rape, and Child Support
Azure79 replied to lord of flies's topic in Way Off-Topic
My friends do call me hilarious. Like I said, its a difficult situation and I do blame the older woman completely for causing the whole mess. However, the child is now born. Wouldn't it be better if the baby had some relationship with the father and the father have some role in the upbringing of the child when he matures and becomes financially stable? I agree the woman should not keep the child. She obviously is not in a correct state of mind if she went around seducing kids. -
Legally Obscene: Rape, Statutory Rape, and Child Support

I had to look up cisgender. I didn't realize that was a thing. I learn new things on this board everyday. Seems like a very difficult issue regarding the link Calax posted. Overall I have to agree with what the courts decided. Yes, the woman did seduce a minor, but she was convicted for it. Though I feel bad for the boy, I don't think the court is being too unreasonable. They are not forcing the boy to get a job and start paying immediately. That will begin after he has matured and finished schooling. The fact is the baby is here. It needs support. The boy should shoulder part of this responsibility if/when he is able to. I guess what makes this so complicated is the number of accusations that can be thrown in either direction. What if the boy indeed did suffer some type of emotional or social trauma because of this? Where can he find restitution? From the mother? Does he still have to pay child support if so? and so on. -
If you aren't going to a gym or have equipment at home, look up convict conditioning. Its a body weight program that get progressively more difficult. For example, you'll start out with basic body squats, then work up to one leg pistol squats, or starting from a basic chin-up you'll move on to one arm pull ups. I remember seeing a basic program out there in the vastness of the internet. I also prefer the basic compound barbell exercises like Nonek. Squat, deadlift, bench press and overhead press are all great exercises. If you can find an affordable gym I suggest you do them. It'll do wonders for your basic strength. And of course always do some cardio.

Azure79 replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
I guess that settles it. This should be interesting. I remember tackling the Shadow Dragon pretty early in my playthroughs, so its definitely possible. Of course I had the option to reload until I got it right. Good luck man. Also I demand more TrueNeutral werewolf romance. He should hook up with Faldorn when the time comes. -

Fighting a dragon at this point seems like a bad idea. That level drain is scary and he is enhanced with SCS. -
@LadyCrimson, yes that is what I meant. I feel like most of the skills for Gunzerker are passive and I just wait around for gunzerk to be active again so I can rush out and shoot things in the face with two shotguns. That is pretty entertaining by itself though and I'm having a lot of fun.
-
I'm playing Borderlands 2 with 3 friends of mine, each using a different class. I'm around level 34 now as a Gunzerker. It's a fun game with lots of humor. I wish there were more active skills that each class could utilize though.

I played through the campaign twice. I could never get the camera to exactly where I wanted it even with the later camera options. The only other thing that bothered me was how you couldn't move party members independently across a map and how your main character would teleport to the front of any given dialog sequence. It was maddening when playing a less melee focused character or your stealth character was discovered and suddenly your entire party teleported to that location. Otherwise I enjoyed the OC overall and of course MotB was great. I also played with the AI off most of the time. I found certain spell effects too dazzling to the point I couldn't tell what was going on, on the screen sometimes.

I like Mark already. He looks like he can move some serious weight at the gym.

InXile is planning on making a game that will share some elements that made Planescape: Torment an excellent role-playing game. Sounds good to me. Not really concerned about the implementation of Torment into the title. I can appreciate Alan's points about potential self-limitation, but considering that a game like PS:T is pretty rare to begin with, I wouldn't mind seeing more of that kind of game.

Come on Tigranes. Stop being productive and play some more BG2. -
This was pretty much my thought process this sale. There are a lot games that I'm interested that I have no hope of playing any time soon, so I'll wait for later this year.
