  1. I wonder if flight schools ever use flight simulators to get their students accustomed for basic prep, takeoff and landing procedures.
  2. Yes, that is true. My main concern is that as the world becomes bigger, the game will be less driven by story and narrative and more by meaningless sidequests. I liked the sidequests in AC, because they played into some kind of storyline. I usually abhor collecting quests, but the Riddler quests kept my interest because they lead into a storyline of rescuing hostages and portrayed the dynamic between the two pretty well.
  3. Blood Dragon almost makes me want to buy an FPS again. I'll see how it comes along. Great to hear that there will be another Batman game. I'm disappointed that Rocksteady isn't involved, but hopefully they are working on other exciting projects. The premise sounds good and it could be fun playing as Batman with less experience.
  4. I was trying to select the characters on screen to make them go explore that temple the entire video. I want to play this game now!
  5. I'm level 44 for vanguard trooper, mostly due to the double xp weekends that have been going on. The story is pretty boring and the companions are not very interesting. I've started other characters, but the completionist in me keeps me trudging towards level 50 and the class story ending. I heard some stories are better than others though, so I'll try Imperial Agent next. I heard it has the best story, but I'm game for suggestions from my fellow Obsidianites. The story modes are what I'm most interested in. I've enjoyed playing with my friends on flashpoints and those warzones. I also like the space battle missions. Its on rails, but its relaxing and the environments are pretty. The gameplay is passable. I guess the strategy is knowing when to use certain skills and finding a good cycle to use them in. Once you find a good pattern though, its all you're ever doing. It gets tedious facing enemies with HP bloat. There's got to be another way to make enemies challenging without putting millions of HP on them. I know certain areas are made for groups, but sometimes I want to try it alone. Overall I am enjoying it. Its fun to play with friends, and random groups have all been friendly. The single player aspects are engaging enough that I can play alone and still have fun. I guess I don't have any problems with the endgame because I'm not too concerned with collecting items and gear or PvP. I expect once I finish a class story, I'll just play another class for another story.
  6. Yes, a true Jedi Knight sequel please. With g_saberrealisticcombat and g_dismemberment codes in please. Force Unleashed was ok, but made lightsabers into wifflebats and Darth Vader into a pansy. Although the prequels pretty much destroyed any menace he previously had. Jedi Knight 2 is still the best lightsaber combat game. Can they even make Kotor 3 now? TOR pretty much shows how everything played out hundreds of years after KoTOR and though I haven't gotten there yet (no spoilers please) I heard Revan and the Exile's fates are revealed.
  7. Great memories of Divine Divinity. Didn't enjoy Beyond Divinity too much and have yet to play Divinity 3. Will look out for this one.
  8. Wow, over 20K raised. Personally I think the project may have started with good intentions, but she should take it down if the original purpose has been replaced. I think she's asking for more trouble that what 20k is worth with the backlash she will receive from the underbelly of the internet.
  9. Happy Belated Birthday Alan.
  10. I sadly never got into Might and Magic series. I tried going back and playing older RPGs after I enjoyed the IE games so much. Some I really got into, like Fallout but others no. The games always felt awkward for me, controlling 4 party members in one first person view just felt weird. I guess I was just used to the positioning that the IE games afforded me and got frustrated.
  11. A question to Alan. How in the world do you remember all the types of logical fallacies? I learned about them during some philosophy course in college, then promptly forgot their names and application after the final. Go college education! Also I'm surprised Justin Bieber doesn't have a video game out already.
  12. I'm with Gorth. Maybe its the games I play, but I honestly can't remember the last game I played where the game's plot revolved around saving a damsel in distress. There are a lot of memorable female game characters I really like. If they have failings, weaknesses or insecurities, its not because they are female, its because they're human. I didn't watch the video nor was I aware of this incident, but the whole thing seems like a non-issue that was blown out of proportion, like the Janet Jackson Superbowl thing.
  13. My favorite Kai Leng moment had to be during the final battle you have with him. I had spec'ed my Vanguard to do a ton of melee damage, so I would just basically charge and one hit melee kill a lot of enemies. I had Kai Leng down to minimal health pretty fast, and I think something glitched when my Shep hit him with a melee attack while simultaneously Garrus hit him with some explosive shot and the combined damage overrode whatever animation that was programmed in and Kai Leng just magnificently exploded. I saw his head rolling around on the ground before the cut scene started. Then he was whole again. I was disappointed. i've never been able to get that to happen again, but it was really satisfying.
  14. Thanks for another glimpse into the overall production process. Its very interesting to read about. Looking forward to more!
  15. I never was a huge Ultima fan, so I'll just wait and see with this one. I've backed too many projects already at this point.
  16. I've always planned to sit down one day when I have a long expanse of free time and play through the entire trilogy back to back. Perhaps there will be a DLC bundle for cheap then. Despite my disappointment in the ending, I really like the ME games. It has fun gameplay and the NPCs grow on you.
  17. I started a republic commando and she is currently level 24. I'm mistakenly did Nar Shadda first, so I'm overleveled for Taris. I did get a wave of nostalgia when the old KoTOR music started up on Taris and I was asked to go investigate the Endar Spire. Will I find the last holo-recording of Trask Ulgo hidden in the wreckage? The suspense!
  18. Good read. I'm getting excited for the coming years. Looks like I'll have a lot of cRPG goodness in my hands. I haven't actually felt this excited about gaming in a long time.
  19. Whoa, already funded! I guess I'll go add to the pot then.
  20. I can't believe I'm still alive. I thought the blades of the Shadowlord would have chunked me. Thanks Tigranes! I vote for Trademeet and siding with Bodhi
  21. The Leviathan guys seemed to have tech that could disable a huge reaper in one blow. Trying to learn how that works and potentially harnessing it seems like a better use of resources than building the crucible which no one really knows anything about. It seemed like a game changer to me.
  22. Nice. I liked the system in Witcher 2 where you had to read up on monsters. It looks like they're expanding on this by introducing options on monsters as you fight them and even unique monsters. Really looking forward to this game. I like the fact that the main source of income will be hunting down monsters.
  23. I watched a playthrough of Leviathan, and considering the major revelation at the end, I found it strange everyone is business as usual after. You get a few paltry military points and life goes on. I would have thought it would have been a game changer.
  24. Wow, those are really nice. Seasons of Skyrim? Might give it a try.
  25. Everytime I see single player ME3 DLC announced I get excited. Then I think about the red, green and blue endings and I just lose all interest. Why does Shep need to decorate his apt anyway? Will probably watch a Let's Play to see if the story goes anywhere.
