I used to believe that moderates didn't condemn the crazies because they didn't want to alienate themselves within the group, now I wonder if just because they are afraid of them. With Islam there's the threat of decapitation... with feminism, there's really no excuse.
-
I watched the first 3 episodes or so before giving up. It wasn't bad, just not really memorable.
-
Feminism is like Islam in that the whackjob extremists go on their whackjob tirades, and there is little to no condemnation by the average moderates, so the whackjob extremists are perceived as the norm.

The contribution women make towards gaming development
Oerwinde replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
Well, I can't say I've heard of those, I only started playing after the 90's, console games at first and then switched to PC Mostly Adventure Games, Sierra and Lucasarts were the top of PC adventure gaming in the 80s and early 90s, and these were the people who drove the genre. The Quest for Glory games are still thought of with reverence by many people on these boards. GoG has the collection, definitely worth checkig out if you can look passed the graphics. -
My understanding was the video used one of the steam screenshots rather than footage from the "game"

Adult females overthrown teen males as largest gaming demographic
Oerwinde replied to Bryy's topic in Computer and Console
I'm 32 and the only female gamer I know is my ex. My daughter will be due to my influence, but at least half the men I know are gamers, and almost none of the women Take mobile gaming into account though, and nearly 3/4 of the women I know are gamers. -
Peter Capaldi is going to be an interesting Doctor.

Davin Faraci is a film critic. He was a big guy at CHUD.com then Nick Nunziata essentially handed editorial control over to him and the site stopped being about movies and became the movie equivalent if a video game site, nothing but SJW editorials and such. Became unreadable. He has since left and no idea what he does now

I tried the PoE beta, did what I could in town and headed out to find the ogre, and was wiped out by the first beetles I saw. don't even think I was ablebto kill one either.

With the effects work on the Death, Fire, and Moon Godlike, I kinda understand the lack of skin tinting and such, but the Nature Godlike are pretty static, I was disappointed I couldn't change skin/hair colour.

Infinity Stones and stuff from Thanos is what I chalk it up to. Well the net holds the Dark Astor until Ronan uses his Universal Weapon to break it. The big gaffe on the Xandarian side was not really having a counterplan against the smaller ships since their smaller ships were caught up using the net. Hopefully Xandar's pitiful defence leads them to the creation of the worldmind and the superpowered Nova Corps.

A single player heroes-esque real-world with powers game I would totally play. This, not so much.

Example of what is killing modern games
Oerwinde replied to Chilloutman's topic in Computer and Console
Am I the only one who noticed that 90% of those dlcs are the Collector Assault rifle? Which I believe comes with the collectors edition. Everything on there pretty much you got for preorderig the collectors edition. So it doesn't cost over $800, it cost $80 Although the post release DLC is silly expensive. that's another $45- 28 replies

My only beef now that its sunk in, is if the Xandarans have been at war with the Kree for hundreds of years, why did they have no capacity to defend their homeworld from a single Kree ship?

I had a whackjob theory one night staying up too late. God is future humanity. Humanity that has advanced so much technologically that we can create anf transverse space and time with a thought. With that in mind, worship isn't so important as the drive to become better, to unite humanity, work together to the point that that is possible

19 hours into Assassins Creed 3, Just fended off the attack on Concord. I'm really enjoying the game. I don't get all the hate. I like that my Assassin recruits are named characters with a unique appearance, but I wish I could do more with them. Like if they showed up on the homestead training or something.

In what order will you play the upcoming 3 rpgs
Oerwinde replied to Sammael7's topic in Computer and Console
Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, then Dragon Age Inquisition. Mostly because I kickstarted the first 2 so I'll play them I the order I get them, then DA:I because I have no money so I have to wait till it hits $20 or someone buys it for me. -
I figured anyone who wanted it grabbed it when they were giving it out for free

My biggest problem with Kinect is that its something that kids love, and pretty much just kids. Unfortunately, it has trouble detecting kids, making it pretty much useless for small kids. Got my kids Just Dance kids, and they spend more time trying to get the kinect to see them than actually playing. doesn't help that it recommends you stand 10 feet from the camera, and not a lot of people have that kind of space.

On to Assassins Creed 3, and other than the combat system overhall I don't get the hate. Better than Revelations
-
Been playing Assassin's Creed Revelations since about 6pm today, with a couple small breaks of a half hour or so, so around 4-5 hours worth of playing. Suddenly crashes, I boot it back up and my save is corrupted. Crashes every time I try to load it. I was in memory sequence 8 when it crashed. Someone suggested restoring a previous version of my save folder, which worked, but I lost everything I did today. Edit: Ok wierd. Restoring my saves from 8:30 am this morning has somehow just decorrupted my savegame from an hour ago, so I didn't actually lose anything. Awesome.

Guardians of the Galaxy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Both were good, but I liked Guardians a lot more. Probably my favorite movie in a long time. Drax was hilarious.

Steam gave me 3 coupons for 60% off Broken Sword 5 if anyone wants one
