  1. Nah, man. The stuff in my garden tastes a hundred times better because there is no chemical waste sprayed on them. The game that literally ruined Curt Schilling. Burn it. I hear you and I am familiar with the story but I just thought what is $6? That's the price of Mcdonalds mealTypical rich people. For $6, I'd eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and an evening meal. For shame Brucie, for shame. where do you buy food? Buy food? What is this thing you speak of? I have food in my garden. My garden has a bean plant that hasn't produced, a tomato plant that is just starting to ripen and is in some sort of war with the bean plant, some peas that are mostly succumbing to mildew, a pepper plant that the tomato plant has engulfed, and a cucumber plant that is taking over the entire back yard. All together it produces enough food to feed one person for 2 days tops as long as you don't require protein.
  2. I used to be a big fan. Killer Instinct, Soul Calibur 2, Mace: The Dark Age, and Bushido Blade 1 and 2 were my favorites. Haven't played a lot since the fun part was playing with friends and passing the controller around whenever you lost, and I don't hang with friends so much since the kids were born. Hence all my favorites being 10 years old. I snagged Soul Calibur 4 when I first got my PS3, but it wasn't nearly as good as 2.
  3. Now is it the setting you're excited about? Because I found Champions Online was pretty much City of Heroes, with an additional sense of accomplishment due to the instanced maps reflecting whether you defeated bosses and such.
  4. I have been betatesting Pillars of Eternity now for about 28 hours and find it fantastic. Its slightly different from other D&D games, but all in all, it have most of the traditional features in it and absolutely all of their qualities. What I like with games going there own ways is they dont have to make the game absolutely streamlined to cater for every single person who might pick up the game. Not everyone likes for example the Baldurs Gate kind of games anymore, but I do, and lats face it: thats one of the reasons I did back that game in the first place; it fits me and my playstyle perfect! So yes, I hope they continue their own way, although I would not look negatively on it if they went for a franchise too, as long they have most of the control over the production part! I like the way Obsidian makes their games, so I hope they continue along that road! What I wonder though is, would it be possible for Obsidian to go for a Kickstarter MMO. Most MMOs these days have turned patetic. I miss games like Star Wars: Galaxies. That game was on a threshold period of time. It started out as an excellent game which was ruined with its New Game Enhanchments - which became popular among game producers but not neccesarily among the players.. I think the initial investment for an MMO are probably too large for Kickstarter, unless you get Star Citizen money. You have to put in enough to produce a game that is going to bring in subscribers, plus you need to have money for servers and a dedicated post-release team.
  5. CN had some sort of Teen Titans Go! Marathon on today. Wow is that a terrible show. I had to watch a few episodes of Green Lantern TAS on netflix to get the taste out.
  6. Video was equal parts crazy conspiracy theory, and probably right. Either way interestig watch.
  7. For something called "Journey to the West," the trailer dedicates astoundingly little camera time to the Monkey King. Being a Stephen Chow flick, I wasn't expecting it to be as scary as it was. Started watching with the kids around. Stopped at the people pig roast.

  9. My only problem, if you're going to have Mana, you can't have cooldowns too.
  10. Grabbed Banished for $6 from the Humble Store. Was doing well then suddenly everyone started dying of starvation.
  11. It was one of the things French Marvel fans voted into Cap's notebook in Winter Soldier.
  12. From what I understand is either they're setting it after his cancer was cured, or they are going to infer he smokes without showing it.
  13. haven't actually been reading it, but Original Sin sounds like its had some interesting developments for the Marvel universe.
  14. Supposedly they've already changed the direction of the show, writing out the original female lead and replacing her with someone from the comics with a completely different dynamic. From what I understand, most fans of the comic thought this was a good move.
  15. Its sad that they needed a disclaimer. There was nothing controversial, unless you count truth as controversial.
  16. If this turns out to be true... well. You can't take the moral high-ground and be a scam artist at the same time. Edit: That said I'd wait for more info on this before getting too riled up. This looks to me like more anti-feminist propaganda, are there other links that support this? Some journalist called her for a statement regarding it, she hung up on him, which isn't damning, she's been through a lot. But right after she removed references to iFred from the depression quest page.
  17. I only find it offensive that they misspelled Lara.
  18. Not bad. Says a lot that I agree with. I liked the bit about games diversifying. One of the issues I have with a lot of the social justice articles that get written (my primary game site is Kotaku, for disclosure) is the obsession with games needing to change because reasons. Games don't need to change. They need to grow. Assassins Creed doesn't need to change because millions of women play candy crush. There needs to be more games that do more to include women and people of colour and such, but the games I like are just fine as is and don't need to change to suit the desires of people who don't enjoy them. there's a similar debate in comics fandom, with movies and comics changing the race and such of established characters to increase diversity. Some fans are upset by this because they are characters they love, the "progressives" just label these people as racist and shut down debate, but the main argument on the side upset by it is that you shouldn't be changing the race of white characters, you should be creating new characters to fill the need for diversity. People dont have a problem with a black Flash, they have a problem with black Wally West.
  19. Feminists are fat, lazy, hate men, and are lesbians. Oh, but don't worry. When I say "feminists" I am referring to a certain types of feminists, not the majority who don't fit into my narrative. Can you understand why I take offense BruceVC? I wouldn't be offended if you said that is your opinion about a subset of feminists that have a certain perspective, I would be offended if you said this applies to all feminists Once again "gamers" doesn't apply to all gamers. This discussion boils down to semantics and I don't think we are going to agree on that despite links I have provided that highlight what gaming websites, like RPS, really mean when they say "gamers" But this is the underlying problem. When the journalists and you say gamers, you mean a very specific subset of gamers. When EVERYONE ELSE says gamers, they mean all gamers, because that is how the word was used in every circumstance ever until now. People got upset because people hijacked the term to serve their agenda. If they didn't know using it in that context would offend 99% of gamers, its because they are that out of touch with their readership. We understand that that's what they mean in this context. The issue is that they are dumb and corrupt and by using the term that way they pissed off the people who they make their money from. Maddox pretty much matches my opinion of representation in games
  20. I'm not up to date, if they separate, would Scotland remain a commonwealth realm? Keeping the queen as head of state and such?
  21. You've raised a good point and it is related to the definition of certain words and what we decide they mean. But we do need consistency, do we accept that certain words don't mean what the official dictionary says they mean based on the context and the discussion at the time? Or do we say that a words definition doesn't ever change irrespective of the context? The meaning of words changes over time. Sometimes the dictionary doesn't keep up. The problem in this situation is that you have 8 or 9 journalists using "gamer" to mean the unwashed basement dwelling mysoginist arseholes, and everyone else reading it and thinking "why are they being so hostile to me and my fellow gamers?" not realizing they have suddenly narrowed the definition. It wasn't a natural evolution of the word, it was a bunch of people writing nonsense.
  22. As I've said numerous times the word " gamer" doesn't mean all gamers, in this discussion it has never meant that. Its just become a convenient way for people like you to vent and show outrage at "the terrible way you have been treated by gaming journalists and the industry " The irony being you have never respected and liked gaming journalists anyway, so its just double standards and false indignation The problem here is how upset you get when it seems like the majority of people have a negative view of the word feminist, but the negative interpretation for that comes from decades of misuse and negative association. Gamer has never meant anything but "people who play games" until the game bloggers decided to hijack the meaning for this discussion. This is why #GamerGate got so many supporters. Imagine how mad you would be if there wasn't any negative association with feminist and everyone widely accepted the term to mean someone who believed in equality, and suddenly all the feminist blogs suddenly started using it to exclusively describe the crazy "all sex is rape, men are the cause of evils, long live the matriarchy" feminists and decry the end of feminism.
  23. I liked the Desmond stuff, especially in 3. They could easiy do a modern day AssCreed using the ring you find as Connor doing the Captain Kidd stuff that deflects bullets and Precurser tech/googleglass type stuff to simulate mini maps and such.
  24. If 4chan knew she was in their chat channels, possibly screencapping the logs, why would they go through with it? Its almost like SHE set it up to get into the limelight again, and had this ready to make her look good
  25. If you don't have a next gen console but plan on buying one in the future.
