  1. FOX has the rights, so unfortunately no. I don't think so. She doesn't have any connections to the X-Books except for the odd appearance in Deadpool and being a mutant. Marvel recently filed a bunch of trademarks regarding her, which many sites say they generally only do when a character is about to be used in a major way in cartoons, movies, etc, leading to speculation she's going to be in the upcoming Jessica Jones Netflix show. I think Marvel should just do a Great Lakes Avengers cartoon. You may be right, I'm under the assumption that all mutants are contained in FOX's film rights. I think Disney does have cartoon rights and live-action though. I believe they have the rights to all characters that appeared primarily or first appeared in the X-books, as well as exclusive use of the term mutant to describe people born with powers. Obviously this covers most mutant characters, but some like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are more complicated and can be used as long asthey aren't referred to as mutants. I'm assuming Squirrel Girl is in the boat with the twins because pretty much every site that reported on the trademarking assumed it meant she was going to appear in the MCU, and if she was with Fox I would hope they would have done enough investigating to figure that out. Though its not like that much faith in journalism is warranted nowadays.

  3. No Black Widow solo movie ... first they cancel She-Hulk in the comics, now Natasha is out in the cold, of Siberia, probably. No, actually she looks to have a big role in Age of Ultron. And it appears Scarlet Witch is gonna mess with some Avengers' hearts and minds, plus a big battle in South Africa, Bruce, looks like they're coming your way. Apparently Feige was asked about the widow solo flick anfd he said something about her working really well as part of the Avengers so its not a huge priority, same with Hulk. But not to rule it out. I'm happy with the slate. With the Captain Marvel movie being further down the line it gives the opportunity to introduce Carol Danvers first.
  4. The Black Panther costume is spot on
  5. I don't think its necessary to fire Luke Plunkett, have him issue the apology would be fine. I actually enjoy the majority of his articles. Patricia Hernandez needs to go though. Every time I read an article on Kotaku and find myself thinking "Who wrote this garbage" 9 times out of 10 it was her. Even without the ethical concerns she should just be fired for being terrible at her job.
  6. Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly signed on to play Doctor Strange. I hope he can rock a moustache better than the pictures google shows me. He has the presence and voice to pull it off definitely though.
  7. I think what has me the most angry lately is how the harrassers on GamerGate's side are anonymous troll with burner twitter accounts or nobodies with 3 followers that are condemned by everyone right away. The harrassers on the anti-gamergate side are executives at Dell, or people who run major media websites, or editors, or people with thousands of followers, and the response to their harrassment is "yeah, you tell those nerds" And we're the bad guys.
  8. What I got out of this: Let the crappy artsy games happen, it will end up like every other creative industry. The Gone Homes will come out, the critics will talk about how amazing and important and fantastic it is, and no one will play it because its not fun. Meanwhile Call of Duty and Assassins Creed and such will make millions because they are entertaining and thats what 99% of people play games for. Like how every year there are 5 movies nominated for best picture at the Oscars, but no one saw 4 of them, and nothing in the top 10 highest grossing movies of the year were even nominated.
  9. This. All of this. If GamerGate was to choose a leader, he'd get my vote
  10. Any sound coming out of the mouth of a child after 1pm on my days off. 5 hours with children is too much, but then I have to put up with another 6-7. If you are an introvert, do not have children.
  11. So Grayson is proof that if you don't feed the trolls, they don't bite? SHOCKING.
  12. I believe the actress that played the Star Labs scientist in that series has a role either recurrig later, or as a one off. Not sure.
  13. Organic refers more to not using lab manipulated species and growing without chemical pesticides as far as I know. With selective breeding its still 100% plant, GMOs have like fish DNA and such. Not saying that's necessarily bad, as far as I know the only real difference between GMOs and Organic foods nutritionally is the lack of pesticide residue on organic food, and some organic ffruits do taste better, but I think its more that larger fruits don't taste as good as smaller ones, and GMOs tend to be larger
  14. Bruce is right about one thing, leaderless rabble accomplish nothing but chaos. Its why the Tea Party has half of congress pushing laws through for them and the Occupy movement achieved pretty much nothing in the long run. The GG website is a place where clear goals of the movement can be posted, rather than relying on random people on twitter, and with guys like TotalBiscuit on board, maybe some clear reasonable leadership can emerge.
  15. 3rd episode they remark about how lucky they are all the evil metahumans have died since prison can't hold them, then start refitting the particle accellerator as a makeshift superprison.
  16. http://www.kitchendaily.ca/read/watch-food-experts-pranked-with-organic-mcdonalds/ The video is in dutch, but there is subtitles. A couple of guys get some McDonalds, take it to a food expo, and dress it up as all natural organic blah blah blah. People who talk smack about how gross McDonalds is proceed to gush about how awesome it is.
  17. Volo would be harsh, yet fair. Beat me to it.
  18. Salon article about Felicia Day getting doxxed titled "Actress Attacked by Internet Horde for Speaking Out on GamerGate" goes on to describe one person doxxing her. Since when is "Horde" used to describe a single individual? This isn't just about ethics in gaming journalism, all journalism is terrible.
  19. My first reaction to the Felicia Day post was the bit about her expecting the trolls to dissipate but they haven't. Duh. You don't feed the trolls, thats like rule #1. When trolls food of choice is negative reactions and attention, and the people they're going after write tweet after tweet, and articles for major websites, and major network media appearances, all about their negative reactions and how people need to pay attention, of course they aren't going away! Zoe, Anita, and Brianna got stung, and their reaction wasn't to avoid bees like a normal person, it was to kick hives.
  20. I've found two things about the media coverage lately 1) Anti gamergate articles are getting more hostile and ranty, which smells of desperation 2) there are a LOT more either balanced or full on pro gamergate articles as time goes on.
  21. I was wondering because it was on the shirt Daniel Vávra wad wearing in his video update that everyone thought was awesome too.
  22. can someone explain "based" to me? The googles say something about some rapper but its vague.
  23. The sheer magnitude of the sexism and racism on the anti-gamergate side is astounding
  24. When adapting things from comics or animation, design is an important factor when it comes to the characters. Fans of the the property want the actors cast to look like the characters they are fans of. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with nostalgia, as evidenced by once the movies come out and the actors do fine in the role no one cares anymore. Fans get pissed off when the hair colour of a character is wrong (especially when its something an $8 box of hair dye can fix.), so its not surprising that casting an actress that doesn't look remotely anything like the character would piss some people off. As I'm not a big fan of Jem, I don't really care, but I've experienced the feeling with quite a few comic adaptions.
  25. Huh, Volo spoke something that is actually a FACT. I totally agree, telling a mixed race woman that she's "not black enough" is horribly racist. To be fair, I didn't even realize she was part black until I found out her dad was Michael from lost. The pictures I had seen I had thought she was white.
