Journalism and sexism in the games industry

What does misogynist mean now? I thought it meant someone who hates women but I haven't seen it used in that context for a while now. -
I still don't feel Jennifer Lawrence as mystique, but the rest of the cast is pretty spot on.

Salvation was my favorite Terminator. Though I prefer the script's original ending where John Connor died and they put his face on the Ter-Man-ator. Would yave been awesome for the leader of the rresistance to secretly be a robot.

They struggle in every country unless they get really lucky. Even the USA which supposedly has a big market has the overwhelming majority of its writers only doing it as a second job. Something they're passionate about sharing. I'd advise you to still try, though, if you're really interested in your concepts. There's always self-pub. I am not a writer, i just can make a frame work/story/concept...i can't make it into narrative. So what i want to do now is creating a set up, then share it here...if you guys interested then i am happy... If not, just archived it Well, i better start now...what i want is a game that everyone who love KotOR, KotOR2 and DA:O will love it. So yeah, suddenly i feel spirited...i will begin, slowly This is my problem too. I have ideas, and for the most part when I share them people think they are good ideas, but fleshing them out is hard for me. I had one idea for a game that I started out trying to do in RPG maker, about the main character not being the prophecized hero, but the prophecized hero's best friend and right hand man, the guy who he relied on and couldn't succeed without. You would do all the support work behind the quest, taking out threats to the hero, laying the groundwork for plans to succeed, being the distraction, etc. Basically I wanted to show that you don't need to save the world to be important. Sadly I went through the same thing you are going through. I didn't have the skills to actually produce, so I gave up. Now I have work and kids and an extrovert wife that demands a lot of my free time, and I doubt I'll ever be able to really flesh out any of my ideas. So I say do everything you can while you have time to do it if you're passionate about it, before you end up with more than a lack of ability keeping you back.

I haven't played it since the 7 days release, but the impression I'm getting is its still Early Access, without the Early Access banner. It released without key features such as character customization.

The only thing I didn't like about Jackman was his height, but finding a 5'4" Hugh Jackman is a tall order.

By that logic, a store that isn't wheelchair-accessible is also a hotbed of censorship - after all, they keep the limited public of wheelchair-bound would-be shoppers from ever seeing anything they're selling! No that has nothing at all to do with what I was saying, particularly since what Target-Australia has done isn't censorship and I even stated as much in my post. If a store wasn't wheelchair accessible they have defacto banned the wheelchair public from patronising the store even if accidentally, which was the whole point of the ADA in terms of requiring accomodations to allow access in the US to public spaces. I'd be okay with that statment as long as you can provide evidence the games weren't selling (which would be a factual component I have no way to confirm). I can confirm "Target Australia banned the game from sale in Target Australia stores".Who said it wasn't selling?I inferred it when you indicated the profitability, in the post I quoted. Again I can't speak to sales or profitablity and whether that played a role in the decision as I have no data with regard to that. My understanding was the biggest part was a 40,000 name petition to not stock it. I don't know if it was online or print. All this means is other retail shops and online stores will get more business from people who want to buy it. No big deal at the moment. -

A co-worker had to fight for nearly 2 years to get custody of his daughter. The mother kept missing court dates and had already had other kids taken from her due to neglect, she was also unemployed and was having her infant son taken from her afer throwing him at the father at a bar at one in the morning. (She had 4 children each from a different father, after the 2nd one was taken she reportedly told the judge "you keep taking them, I'll just keep having more". My co-worker's kid was her 3rd). It shouldn't have taken 2 years for that. -
Its a shame they weren't able to to recapture the magic of that first movie. I know they were limited with the budget, but what they did for the sequels just wasn't good. Nostalgia allows me to enjoy them, but the first one is the only actually good movie. The Imagi one from the 2000s was quite good though despite the wierd immortal monster storyline. The Raph vs Leo fight gives me chills whenever I watch it. Its so beautifully done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdtM66SxZeI

As a product of its time I'll disagree, the 2003 animated series retold the comic stories for a younger audience with updated references and such and was fantastic, and the current Nickelodeon series is like an updated version of the 80s cartoon and while not as good as the 2003 series from an adult perspective, is still way better than the 80s version and is a huge success with kids. It all depends on how the material is handled.

There's some controversy regarding the page and the moderators who are pro-corruption and Jimmy Wales doesn't seem to believe there's anything going on.The way I understand it Jimbo is pretty pro-gg, but he gave up most of his power long ago and can't do a lot about it besides chiming in on the debates. Its mostly a problem with wiki policy re: reliable sources. Essentially none of the pro-gg stuff has been posted by sites that are considerrd reliable sources, and the ones who have have all focused on the harassment angle because frankly, no one outside gaming really gives a crap about gaming journalism. -
Am I the only one who doesn't understand the appeal of watching other people play games?

Uplay has Tropico 5 for 14.99 and counts towards their buy one get one deal. Snagged that and got Watch Dogs free.

GoldBat got reportspammed and his twitter suspended. -
I'm not upset that ME4 might be console only, I've always considered the ME games a console franchise anyway. Just means it will take me a while to get it since I wont be able to afford a console for at least a year or more.

I grabbed Shadows of Mordor, but didn't pay attention to the direct x 11 requirement. So had to buy a new video card to play it. Didn't save me much

X-Men was decent, X-Men 2 was good, 3 was bleh. You can skip Origins, its just plain bad, but The Wolverine is probably almost on par with X2. First Class and Days of Future Past are the best ones.

snagged AssCreed Liberation, it has a lot of things going for it, the personas actually make a lot of sense, and change up the gameplay significantly, but the story needs a LOT of work. You just kinda do things with no context. I get that it was originally a Vita game, but throwing a couple text boxes around with some story bits would improve the game significantly.

How did a libertarian get a 0 on liberalism? Well, as Gorgon put it, there are a lot of questions where yes or no make poor answers. There is a lot of "It depends" in those questions. I like this survey better:http://www.isidewith.com/ if you click "choose another stance" they give you all the "it depends" options and does a fair job of tallying them. The only problem is it is very US centric so the folks in Europe might not find it that interesting. Parties you side with... 82% Green Party on foreign policy, social, environmental, and healthcare issues. 79% Democrats on environmental, healthcare, economic, and social issues. 69% Libertarians on immigration, foreign policy, and social issues. 59% Socialist on social, environmental, and foreign policy issues. 36% Republicans on immigration and environmental issues. 28% Constitution Party on immigration issues. 28% Conservative Party on immigration issues. I'm guessing me siding with the Republicans on environmental issues was when I voted that private enterprise should be incentivised to develop clean energy.

I have to be honest, when Boyega's face jumps into frame, all I was thinking was the combing of the desert from Spaceballs. I half expected him to go "WE AIN'T FOUND ****!" Beat you to it

If this is what the future looks like I'll be happy.

They asked him to come back, but he gave some sort of snooty ac-tor refusal about the character being finished and he couldn't add any more.
