I've got a village I've been working on that can serve, just need to populate it and such... I might dabble and see what I can do.

I think the timer on the front page needs to be removed. I think its counted down to zero two or 3 times now, before being extended by like 2 months.

Well.. on the other hand, Morrowind has much better gameplay, storyline, and voice acting. It is also a couple of years younger than NWN2 and has much lower PC requirements. Morrowind had a storyline? The lack of a story and the crap gameplay kept me from getting further than a half hour into the game, which kept me from hearing most of the voice acting. Though 90% of the voice acting in NWN2 was ass so I'll accept that part as true.

Breaking news: NWN2 EXPANSION "Legacy of Gith" for pre-order!
Oerwinde replied to Tasaio's topic in Computer and Console
I agree that given what's been said, an official announcement on an expansion pack is likely to come soon, but this isn't it. Legacy of the Gith would be an interesting title, though - even if it was formerly used for NWN2 itself. I guess it refers to the silver sword, and the end of NWN2 did try to focus our attention on the fate of the sword. They did talk a lot about the fate of Gith near the end too, so if the expansion has planeswalking and such, likely Gith would be a part of it and the title would still fit. -
Breaking news: NWN2 EXPANSION "Legacy of Gith" for pre-order!

Well a couple weeks ago MCA said to look for news in a couple weeks. Its possible that EB knows something we don't. -
I tried the whole "Jump on the dragon's back to attack him" thing once in PnP. The dragon just rolled over and I died.

I bought a big batch of TV movies. Jason and the Argonauts, Hercules, Arabian Nights, Atilla, and Joan of Arc. Only watched the first 3 so far, but they were good. John Leguizamo as a badass genie was awesome.

Yeah, he could barely form a complete sentence in English, but still he just had to let everyone know his every thought. in every thread on the entire board.. for every second of his day. He kept that going for probably two or three months and gained over 3000+ posts in that short amount of time. It almost drove me mad. At least I know it drove me away from here because I just couldn't stand his gibberish. Then he suddenly turned into the pseudo-intellectual he is (trying to be) today. Not sure which version I prefer, to be honest. I was going to mention that. I miss old Baley. And I kinda miss the point where everyone had like 3 alts and they would argue with each other.

Watched the last Canucks game and the announcers were talking about how bad of a game it was the whole time. Memorable quotes: "Aren't you glad they didn't clinch the division title weeks ago?" "This game doesn't deserve overtime" "Looks like someone threw a stick, but no one cares because its game 82."

If you could make any game, what would it be like?
Oerwinde replied to Bokishi's topic in Computer and Console
I still like my mercenary game idea. You start as a single merc operating out of an apartment, and as you go on missions and gain money you can eventually recruit a team out of various skilled characters, including researchers/inventors. Your researchers can create new weapon/armor types which can then be used by you and your team, or you can patent and produce them making more money for you, but also allowing enemies to use it. Eventually you can end up with a large mercenary company, with research divisions, offworld shuttles, multiple teams which can handle other missions for you while you either manage the business or go on missions yourself. Missions would be squad based tactical combat stuff, with some RP thrown in to make it more fun, similar to the setup of Fallout Tactics. You can betray employers for more money, but that would lower your rating and lead to either less missions or less lucrative ones. There would likely be a story mode and a sandbox mode. More missions would be added through downloads, probably at a rate of one per month. Setting would be sci-fi. Not super far future, just enough for colonization of our solar system. -
Theres nothing wrong with people having fun like that. The problem is they videotaped it and put it on the internet. Of course its going to be made fun of.

Ooh, how did that work? (I never played Civ1 or Civ2 :blush10: ) You started with a cave, and if your people loved you you could add pieces to your palace. Mixing and matching pieces from different styles of buildings.

On the Bioboards, I suggested that they make a TOTSC-style expansion -- restore the cut content and add more quests to the current OC, before continuing with the sequel. I think a lot of people would love more content added to the OC. I'm one of them. I doubt they'd devote much if any resources to that though. It would be cool if they started adding small bits of content to the OC with patches though. Nothing huge, like maybe a quest or two per patch. Or maybe an OC expansion premium module. That would be super cool.
-
I think they should focus less on scenarios and more on adding upgradeable palaces back in.
-
Well, theres at least one upside. If something like team gizka wanted to restore cut content to NWN2 it would be a lot easier to script and such, what with the toolset and all. Won't take 3 years I was kinda disappointed with the size of Neverwinter. It didn't seem large enough to be a real city.
-
I wonder how many people play the scenarios. I think I dabbled with them but usually ended right back in the regular game. The only scenario I've ever thought was all that fun was the feudal japan one from Civ3 Conquests.
-
I figured with how poopular Civ 4 was that this would be more interesting to people. I guess since Warlords really wasn't worth the 30 bucks people are assuming so here as well.

Eddie Murphy is apparently getting another Beverly Hills Cop too. Oh God, why? I mean, I sat through the first one only because I have an undying love for alien. But then after watching that mess I wanted to barf. Now they're making a second one? Oh the humanity... When I saw it in theaters, listening to the audience reaction you would have thought it was a comedy.

1200 bucks and the reserve isn't met yet. Possibly set a high reserve so it doesn't sell and he can tell the girl he tried but no takers.

Went back a few pages and didn't see this anywhere, so here ya be: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=214080 Focusing on the late game, which I believe most people think is not as fun as the early game. Adding 10 new Civs, more units, wonders, etc. edit: Ooh... random events... thats something that should add a lot to the game if done right...

TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline
Oerwinde replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its all just a ruse to disguise the fact that it was already released a month ago. -
Bethesda is a publisher as well as a developer, so its not out of the question that Obsidian could do a fallout game in the future. Not just an expansion, but a full game.
-
The FreeSpace 2 engine was open sourced. All the music and art assets are still under copyright but since this is a total conversion I'm assuming it uses all its own assets. Ahh, okie doke.

From an American developer? HELL NOOO! Besides, I'm currently playing STALKER, that's the closest you can get. But I think a real Fallout sequel might be done. Ferg just has to ask the Bethesda people nicely. I mean they're all geeks, so it might turn out pretty well. Besides, allegedly Bethesda don't have the intention to name their Fallout "Fallout 3", but "Fallout: Oblivion with guns" or something like that.... If they actually called their fallout game "Oblivion with Guns" I'd applaud them. Then they could outsource F3 to Obsidian and publish it.
