  1. Any game where you can start playing at 5PM, say "I'll just play for a half hour" Then next thing you know its 6AM either has some sort of crazy hypnotic suggestions built in, or is super awesome.
  2. At least when they brought back Jason Todd and Bucky it wasn't lame. Winter Soldier is awesome, and Jason Todd beat the crap out of Joker with a crowbar. Nothing uncool about that.
  3. I'm about 2/3rds through Shadow Rising, and can't find my copies of Fires of Heaven or Lord of Chaos so I'll have to rebuy them... I think these books are actually better the 2nd time through.
  4. Yup, the quote I believe was that no one stays dead in comics except Bucky and Uncle Ben, then they brought back Bucky. More like Steve Rogers represents the ideal of America, a beacon of hope and honor. While Frank Castle represents doing whatever the hell he thinks is right, and the rules don't apply to him, which is what America is now.
  5. I thought it was mid-late 30s was the cap, I dunno, its been years since I played it, I also thought Elminster was like 24-25th level. Which is supposed to be INSANE in 2e. And after looking it up, he's 26th, and the cap is 31st level. So I was a bit off, but 5 levels is still a lot, but likely offset by Elminster's chosen status. Still I think at that point it would be a battle between equals rather than Elminster whupping Edwin.
  6. I just checked out the PS2 one... also disappointing. FFXII is better than FFX, yet FFX is on the list, Suikoden V is better than Suikoden III, but Suikoden III is on the list. Suikoden III is considered by many to be the second worst game of the series. II and V being the best. I'd comment on FFX, but I appear to be often in the minority in expressing just how bad the story in that game was. Well its better than Suikoden and Suikoden IV, but II and V were way better. Suikoden IV was just bad.

I thought Gerard Butler was scottish...
  9. Yeah, Punisher has mad respect for Cap, and I don't think he'll actually call himself captain america, just wear the costume to honor a man he respected. A lot of people have been saying that it makes sense for Frank to don the mask though, since in Frontline they point out that Steve has lost touch with america and represents the ideal of America, while Punisher represents the US of today. Not necessarily what the US wants to be, but what it is.
  10. Caprica, its about two families of scientists who create the Cylons. Originally it was sposed to just be about two families of scientists who have a huge AI breakthrough, and Sci-Fi told them to talk to the BG people because they thought it would be perfect for that universe, and the rest is history. It sounds like it could be neat, especially if they eventually move towards the first Cylon/Colonial war.
  11. I like that they custom paint each rig. Though it seems like an unnecessary expense
  12. D&D's mechanics don't really support this sort of stuff. Unless the enemies are equipped with items that are way out of line with what characters of that level have, they stand next to no chance of defeating an individual 20th+ level character, much less a party of 20th level characters. A party of six 10th level characters against a properly-equipped 20th level character is going to get annihilated, especially in a computer environment where the player can reload and adjust to whatever "dirty tricks" the 10th level party has. 10th level characters simply don't have the numbers to get the job done unless they are dramatically inflated. They will fail saving throws, rarely connect with attacks, take far more damage than they receive, etc. And you'd be lucky if a hundred 5th level fighters surrounding a 20th level fighter would put more than a slight dent in the latter's heath. I guess you could give them all bows on an open plain so they could all fire at him every round, with five actually landing shots. Or they could rapid fire and land ten shots. Of course if the fighter's 20th level wizard pal is nearby, they'll all be dead in a round or two anyway. You can pump up an army of 5th level guys to make them have the stats of 10th level guys, but if that's what's required -- why not just start with higher level characters? Hence why some people don't like epic levels, because combat encounters don't make sense anymore. I remember playing Throne of Bhaal and wondering where the hell all these level 30 monks were coming from, since some of the most powerful people in the realms were like level 22. Reading the ending text about Edwin challenging Elminster and losing horribly. Unlikely when Edwin is 16 levels higher than Elminster. Epic levels are stupid unless the story and such is based around leadership roles, and the combat encounters are with small parties of similar leveled highly equipped adventurers... and are rare. Epic levels shouldn't be about combat, because at that point, everything that will make sense is just going to be too easy. Unfortunately in computer games, all the masses want is combat.
  13. Last I heard a tv movie would be bridging the gap between season 3 and 4. As for season 4 only having 13 episodes, I don't mind at all. Season 1 only had 13. Less filler. I prefer filler to repeats.
  14. http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.88...omicstories.889 Hrmm... looks like I might have been right.
  15. Where did you hear that? I don't think its official, but it was only picked up for another 13 episodes, so people are assuming its the last one.
  16. Baltar's lawyer is Badger! :D It would be nice if the last season was at least a full season instead of a half season. But at least they had warning and are able to wrap it up, unlike certain other awesome sci-fi tv shows. Apparently they're working on some TV movies too, I think thats how they should end the series. The season finale of next season should just be the beginning of a trilogy of TV movies to wrap it all up.
  17. I love those beards. This is just personal preference, but every dwarf I made (50+) made me smile, mainly due to the awesome beards. The multi-braid was my favorite. It would have been nice to have a choice of more than 3 different beards though. I don't mind braided beards, as long as they're big full dwarf beards, not little tiny NWN1 gnome beards.
  18. Ahh, the good ol days. It was odd, on the old boards I'd hang out in the politics board about half the time I hung out in the rest of it, yet when it got shut down and moved to missy's I just never got used to posting there and eventually just stopped.
  19. I didn't mind the models so much, except half-elves. Now those were hideous. And the crazy circus beards for dwarves.
  20. That sounds awesome. Medieval Times was a lot of fun when I went. You get a meal of meat and broth and you're not allowed utensils. Get to watch some jousting and melee, then they start killing each other.

What? Am I the only one that liked Pluto Nash? If you're serious, I liked it too, but we're the only ones. Its one of those movies that I'm ashamed of liking. Like Mean Girls. Also:
  22. I couldn't stand the great gatsby. Theres a chapter that does nothing but list who he invites to a party. Not my opinion of quality writing. I gave up halfway through because it was so bad. Which considering how short the book is, is pretty bad.
  23. TRON! I'm still using the Optimus Prime pic. Though someone did a wicked fan movie design for Soundwave that I might try next. EDIT: Not in big enough resolution for a decent background image, but this is what it was if you're curious: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/50216886/
  24. Incorrect. Lots of people use the word liberal. Only Republicans use it as an insult. Not realizing that only other Republicans actually take offense at being labelled a liberal.
