Origin Sales
A game that practically brought down the state of Rhode Island (yes, worthless state that could fit 10x into a typical county west of the Mississippi, I know, that's a whole other can of worms,) and you thought there was DLC for it?* Scratch that, West of the Hudson River. RHODE ISLAND YOU ARE NOT EVEN A STATE, YOU'RE D.C. BUT WITH REPRESENTATION AND 1000% MORE POLITICAL CLOUT BECAUSE YOUR POPULATION IS ALMOST ENTIRELY WHITE INSTEAD OF ENTIRELY BLACK. I vote that Rhode Island be assimilated as a county of Connecticut. I've hiked distances larger than the diameter of Rhode Island without even leaving a county in Oregon. Ok, maybe I'm getting off track with the "Rhode Island doesn't deserve two ****ing senators" thing, but still... Rhode Island doesn't deserve two ****ing senators. That is infinitely more financially beneficial than games bought on Origin. I still want the DLC!

The Kickstarter Thread
And while credit card info seems to be safe (Kickstarter says only two user accounts showed evidence of unauthorized activity), usernames, email addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers were all exposed in the hack. And while Kickstarter passwords are encrypted, the company notes that skillful hackers may have the means to crack them.

Update #72: Death Godlike and Expected Ship Date
None of the kickstarter campaign stretch goals. They were asking our opinion on post-kickstarter stretch goals. They decided not to do that. Mega Dungeon and so on are still in.

Update #72: Death Godlike and Expected Ship Date
Really cool update. The environments look great and the Death Godlike look freaky enough. The cat looks so-so, and no further stretch goals is not a big deal for me. More stretch goals would have meant more delays, I would wager.

Petition for comprehensive modding tools
I thought this was common knowledge from the beginning of the KS campaign? As I said in the new stretch goals thread. I want one of the stretch goals to focus on robust modding tools. I wouldn't even mind if all funds went into that.

What you did today
Today I learned we can't show DVD/BD movies to the kids at work. Some copyright infringement BS law that has apparently been passed. That means no more movies in school! We can't even keep the ones we bought. Politicians...

No romances confirmed
If the devs feel like they don't want to write romances, it's better they don't. Look at Alpha Protocol, they were not very good and lo and behold, Chris Avellone didn't really want them in the first place. If developers feel motivated in writing romance options, then by all means, go ahead.

New videos from Josh
It's always great to get these videos because so much more can be said in them than in a single forum post. Kudos to Josh for taking his time.

What are you playing now
Odd considering there was little naval action in the Sengoku period. The ships were basically floating forts whose purpose was blockading supply lines. I found it strange that there would be naval battles to be honest. But I guess I have to learn what I will be doing during the actual campaigns.

What are you playing now

The Obsidian Order of Eternity (part 7)
Dr Jan Itór, per chance? I can't go into details. It's so secret that if I told you, I'd have to immediately kill you.

Race and gender affecting gameplay
They could do it, sure. I don't really care if there is no racism or not, but look at it this way: Racism is a subject that will never go away in the real world. This goes for other things as well, like slave labor or what have you. I like to see issues like these being tackled in video games. It's not about me feeling special. It's about having subjects in games that actually matter. I don't want a clear black and white, this race is good and this race is evil crap. It's interesting to see how the developers handle serious subjects and then make the player have to make difficult choices. I don't like wars or slavery either, but I still think they can be interesting subjects. I like history and if you read a lot of history, you will understand how many "great" leaders are actually ***holes who did everything it took to win. I'm not saying most video games need to tackle these subjects, but if a serious effort is done, I would appreciate it. Give the player a lot of background information in lore books and involved/neutral NPCs that educate the player on these matters. It's not like every single dwarf would hate every single elf (going by my example in my previous post).

Race and gender affecting gameplay
Let's say elves and dwarves hate each other in this world, I'd expect my dwarven character to get a lot of crap from elves. Especially if I enter an elvish town or establishment or w/e. Conflicts in the world should not only be there but have an effect on your character. Otherwise it feels pointless to have them in the first place. I don't find "enjoyment" in conflicts but they need to be there in my opinion. If someone of another race mistreats my character, I will probably not be nice to them either. I can differentiate between a made up world and the real world. I'm of the opinion that every human being is of the same worth, that doesn't mean I don't want to see racial conflicts in video games.
