The idea is that you would climb the legs to reach that heart. It never works well tho. And for the love of god don't try to do the expansion with a melee class. Hybrid classes are player-only for a reason.

You didn't already have it? Okay, that's it. Show of hands, who does not already own this game? We aren't allowed to be friends. Hrm. Friends with Tale... not driven insane by the torture that is Dark Souls... I think I'm good on that choice. Too frustrating for me. I also have my doubts around if I can handle Dark Souls, I don't have patience with games that force repetition on you or don't allow reasonable save progress so if you get killed you don't have to go back too far. But I need to at least try the game before I'll comment properly I suggest using a trainer then. The amount of grind and memorization the game expects is enormous otherwise.

Soren Johnson founds Mohawk games. Their first project is a multiplayer economy focused RTS. Not sure what to think of that one. Love Civ4 and tycoon games but Stardock involvement worries me.

UK Muslims targeted for speaking out about terror
pmp10 replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
A little off topic but that's most likely going to happen in the future. Whatever social tensions this new 'Greater Israel' will undergo it's the only way forward in the region. And this multiculturalism debate seems a bit pointless to me. You are wasting your time discussing the pretenses of tolerance when the real policies have always been about economics. -
Once you have played around a bit with it, give your opinion is it worth to get if you already own the original will you? Doesn't look that HD to me from the pictures, like they just have allowed the engine to render higher resolutions without any improvements to the graphics themselves. It's essentially a renamed expansion. Graphics look no better but the pirate expansion is bundled in.

Considering all of Fallout 3's other troubles, the transition from ISO to FPP is (relatively) one of the smaller problems. Cutting down the mechanics (as opposed to adopting and enhancing) and streamlining the **** out of everything is the real problem. Why do people praise X-Com remake to high heavens then? Appealing to wider audience is sadly a natural progression of the medium. The line should be drawn at preserving the experience.

I'd be careful with that argument on this forum. Obsidian is a developer with quite a few 'bad quality' games that have a pretty vocal fan-base.

If you take an unpaid internship where its clearly stated to be unpaid...how can you turn around and complain you got no pay? For example because you are forced into extra hours not covered by the agreement. To say nothing about different set of duties that consist mostly of manual labor.

To which locations? If you mean Afganistan then good luck with that as the only thing we bring is destitution by ending the drug trade. As for Saudi Arabia I very much doubt that. Women rights in the west were not won in the suffragette rallies but arms factories. As long as Muslim world has no desperate need to change women roles in the society they will try to stick to tradition.

That's kinda the problem - you can easily argue that spirituality improves peoples lives. For example meditation has been proven to have health-benefits even if it's not scientifically explained why.

That's because they wouldn't dare post it at release and now it resides in the 'other take' section. Someone decided to turn what was supposed to be a day-1 review into cheap click-bait. I'm actually surprised that reviewer is still working there after that Kane&Lynch fiasco.

It is. The methods they use to convey this are a bit shaky, especially during that scene, which caused some players to ragequit the game entirely There is nothing wrong with quiting the game over things it expects you to do. If gaming is supposed to stay a interactive hobby it's much better we all develop uncrossable borders rather than get constantly offended.

Don't be so certain until you finish it. Blood Money was a true Hitman game and a stealth approach won't always work for you.

Imperialism calmed Christianity down. Reformation lead to quite a lot of bloodshed on Religious grounds.

He actually mentions quite a few times that he was creating a list of games that have held up well on modern computers, and not one of those looks all that good today. They certainly don't look any worse than Arcanum. In fact some of the older 2D titles work better graphically purely by the strength of using images rather than poor early 3D models.

You could own the latter but only the land of the former. In legal terms that means you could do much more with a slave.

Honestly I don't think 'satisfaction of vengeance' has any place whatsoever in any 'civilised' justice system, and I'm not all that convinced that vigilantism would result. Even if it did, I think enforcing harsher penalties to stop vigilantes would be the wrong way to counteract them - with the right way being locking up and rehabilitating the vigilante. We go the rehabilitation route and we don't have any problems with vigilantism to speak of. The only case where I can imagine it happening would be if Breivik got out of his imprisonment somehow. In which case he'd be deader than dead the moment anyone besides the police got their hands on him(if he's lucky that is). Funny you should mention Breivik as he will never get out no matter his level of rehabilitation. Despite all of this rhetoric your law allows indefinite lengthening of sentences which you'll use to get vengeance on him.

If Obsidian kickstarts a space opera RPG, would you back it?
pmp10 replied to Arcoss's topic in Computer and Console
Actually most likely it is. Some people simply milk 'Hollywood imagination' and make money trying to sell the impossible. And even if their math-bending proves realistic you still need to keep in mind that this FTL system will have planet destroying potential. Blowing up your source and destination wold make for a pretty poor traveling experience. -

Digitalization. Can't do it in fiction since audience will get hopelessly confused about existence without the fleshy bits but that's what makes most sense right now. It also kills the potential for romances. -
Hey look, we are all aware that gamers are sick to the back teeth of PC bull****. That does not preclude a reasoned debate on the matter. I agree and I want to raise another point. Lets say for argument sake people that are pushing feminist ideas or equality have permeated the gaming scene with there ideals of fairness. What negative impact has this had to your personal gaming experience? For starters it ruined many fantasy settings with the stupid insistence on gender equality where it made completely no sense. Okay can you give some examples please I didn't realize that fantasy was the domain of male characters only? Try any pseudo-medieval setting. You cannot have such society undergo the cliché war/plague/famine story and still pretend that modern notions of freedom/equality was an option.

Honestly I wouldn't pay much attention to the misogyny comments made by gamespot. The reviewer is not free from bias herself. GTA5 has bigger problems than it's treatment of women.
