One Word - Multiclassing!
FlintlockJazz replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Same, not really a fan of multi-classing particularly in PoE where the classes were already quite flexible anyway. Prestige classes or as someone else mentioned earlier kits would be great. Arch Mages oh my!

Confirmed: Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
FlintlockJazz replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The artwork of them fighting on the ship shows five party members, but then so did the initial artwork for Pillars of Eternity. Plus, they are all companion characters (presumably) in both cases so isn't counting the MC. I think I'll wait until they confirm one way or another. Just so you know what artwork I am talking about, here it is: Course at least one of those characters didn't make it into the final game... poor Cadegund...

Confirmed: Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
FlintlockJazz replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Completely no on this. I agree with Archaven, if you want smaller party sizes then go ahead and don't use a full party but I actually hate hate HATE the ever reducing party size. Hated it in DAO, hating it in Tyranny, I actually wouldn't mind INCREASING the party size. 8 or 10 could be interesting.

Plea to Obsidian - please let us buy PoE2 through your backer portal
FlintlockJazz replied to Mich-666's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Looking at how the investment works for one of the games still up for backing, it appears that 40% of sales receipts go to the investors until 1.36x the amount of investment is earned, then drops to 20% until 3x the amount is reached. That's kinda how I figured it would work, though 40% seems rather high to me, but that might differ from game to game. Could only look at the terms of investment by going into a game that was still open to investment. EDIT: Just checked another game and it does look like the share of the profits does vary from game to game. The other game still open to investment is at 30% for the first part and 10% till the 3x point.

Confirmed: Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
FlintlockJazz replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)At times like these I wonder: did the devs planned this from the start or thought about it just recently? Fun thing is, the statue of the Endless Paths was a idea their artists had when they were running the 1st kickstarter because he thaought it was cool. The statue wasn't even in the initial planning of the story or whatever - they just kept it afterwards because they liked it Yeah, I think this is more a good example of how good world-building and consistency leads on to naturally occurring plot.

Confirmed: Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
FlintlockJazz replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The only problem is this statue was cut off by adra eating critters from the rest of adra pillar that goes deep into Eora's core where dead souls supposedly reside before reincarnaring. Can adra regenerate? Wasn't that just the arm? Nah, it was under the legs. Ah! Thanks, in that case, maybe Eothas possesses it precisely because it's been cut off? We know souls can exist at least for a period of time before heading to the Adra, may he jump into it as it has no connection to the cycle of reincarnation and so he wouldn't be drawn down into it? Complete theorycraft on my behalf.

FlintlockJazz replied to Aramintai's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Actually, that would be really great thanks! I find there isn't enough Orlan portraits in the game and due to their unique look its pretty hard to find any that match online, so I grab them where I can. Blue Orlan with greatsword it is then! :D

FlintlockJazz replied to Aramintai's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Should I admit that I want to steal his avatar for my game and play him? Or is there something morally wrong with that? Its difficult to navigate the fields of morality without a compass....

Why call it Project Louisiana if it's Pillars 2?
FlintlockJazz replied to KiidBro's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Wait, so you mean the title of the finished game would be Project Louisiana but they would still have this other game whose codename during development would Lousiana? My head hurts....

The US Election, Part XI
Please forgive this Brit for coming in here and throwing his opinion about another country's election, but since my opinion is mostly going to be about my fellow Brits interfering in other countries' elections I feel like its okay? Prior to the election I saw people on both sides expressing discontent with the whole Electoral Colleges thing and how the more popular candidate can still lose, but this was before their candidate had won or lost so it was okay in my mind, I have been expressing similar discontent with our own system here and it is broken and unfair. However, since the elections I have seen people who had mentioned no discontent with it before suddenly becoming very vocal about it, and I'm like "Would you even be bringing this up had the situation been reversed?" Sadly, I know the truth to be no, especially when they ignore the question and then try and turn it into something else. Many of these people are signing some petition about it, and I'm like "You're British, its not your business and are actually undermining it since now its gonna be full of foreigners instead..." This is all part of my concern about political polarisation. I actually think this is the greater danger than anything else, but everyone is too busy being polarised to listen...

Pillars of Eternity 2 Wish List and Suggestions
Fencing Schools! In real life history, fencing masters would teach a selection of weapons (actually a lot like the selection of weapons Pillars gives you for each group), to enable them to choose the right weapon for the right task. Students would get into fights with students from rival schools, kind of like kung fu students supposedly did, but with rapiers and the like instead. The weapon focus groups could be these different schools and players pick them up by joining a school which unlocks further adventures and get to see fellow students batter each other in the street for honour!

PoE2 ANTI-wishlist thread. What should remain the same?
As others have said but who I want to throw my support behind, I want them to keep: Engagement. **** those who say otherwise, engagement was great. Guns. I'd actually want more gunpowder stuff in fact. And bring in the printing press! Disposition. I loved this. The separate hit point and endurance system. Six party members. Hell, they could increase this in my opinion, just don't lower it.

PILLARS OF ETERNITY 2 confirmed
FlintlockJazz replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Well, if they are going Kickstarter again then I hope they learned the important lessons: don't commit to things like 16-level dungeons and strongholds and don't listen to the demands of the backers (including me).
