Hearth Orlan Minor Threat
FlintlockJazz replied to Ghalven's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Thanks, I was wondering about this myself, as was wondering if an Orlan Chanter using Dragon Wailed chant would benefit from this. Answered my question thanks. -
My reading of the transcript gives me the impression that they were talking of two separate mechanics (bombs and reverse pickpocketing) working together, so I'm guessing yes. I can definitely see it being used to frame people, but I can also see it being used to pass things onto people without being seen, such as passing on a note to someone who is being watched for them to read later.

There are grenades intended I believe? Or some sort of bomb thing. There is a handmortar thing that is supposed to shoot grenades and Serafen is going to be using that. Would be cool to see it in action in a teaser at some point. Obviously we won't have to buy grenades as ammunition like we don't have to buy arrows (because hammerspace), but having throwable grenades seems like something that would be cool. I'm pretty sure grenades or some form of throwable explosive is going to be a thing, as I recall its linked to the alchemy skill. It was talked about at some point, it encouraged me to make a scientist-type character ready for Deadfire. I don't remember hearing that, but that sounds cool. Sort of like Geralts potion bombinb. Yeah I'll have to try and dig out where I heard it from for ya (and to make sure I didn't just dream it or something).

I don't see the problem to be honest: female soldiers just means I get more variety in the people I kill. I'm equal opportunities: everyone should have the option of dying by my hand, whether they have boobs or not. You don't want the battles to just be sausage fests do you?

I'm sorry that this surprisingly constructive discussion offends you so much. Point out the constructive discussion. Comparing Bioware romances and saying which are worse is like comparing different types of poop, and the discussion here seems to be consisting of personal attacks and demands dressed up as 'requirements'. If you actually want decent relationships in the game then the best thing would be to steer clear of anything Bioware related. If all you want is gratuitous fap fantasy then at least have the guts and decency to admit to such.

Well she's an Avian Godlike and she has feathers... maybe Avian Godlikes actually do lay eggs And since Godlikes are sterile we know its safe to have them for breakfast! Great reason to bring Pallegina for the road, omelettes for the road! Dude, that is awesome work, thank you and sorry for wrecking your day off. You're right about Eder, I think its just the pose gives me very Minscian vibes since he also posed like that, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Looking at Xoti's portrait, does anyone else feel that the hood seems not quite right? Like, her face and the hood are two separate pictures pasted together kinda thing? Or am I just seeing things?

What the hell is all this? Bioware romances are just all bad, full stop, regardless of whether they are same-sex, dual-sex, mega-sex, ****-sex, whatever. You are just arguing different levels of ****, and they are the reason romances in games are so despised by many people. If they put this kinda crap in Pillars then they can just shove it up their arse where it belongs, in fact shove it so hard it pops out their mouths so that it can be reinserted! I feel this thread needs decontaminating again:

I assume this guy was strung up and left hanging from the nearest tree? Or nailed to a cross? Guy needs to die. That's a bit harsh, isn't it? I mean, if they make a Dwarf companion that isn't the same as every other Dwarf companion in literally every other fantasy story, then go for it. But if it's like, the same ale-chugging, axe-wielding dorf that we've seen so many of already, i don't see a point in it. My apologies, I should have been clearer that I wasn't being anywhere near serious, I was just playing to the 'fanatical dwarf lover' motif of "He dares question the awesomeness of dwarves??!!!" That last sentance probably made it seem serious re-reading it now.

Would you mind reading the thread before replying? Rogues should still have a variety of archetypes - swashbuckler, duelist etc. that allow for a variety of weapons. But for >>backstabbing<< builds, they should have an incentive to use daggers/stilletos etc., otherwise they will be again the most useless weapon type in the game, so might as well just remove it if they don't want it actually used. Yes I did read the thread, would you mind not attacking the poster with baseless accusations when you reply? No, they should not have an incentive to use daggers and stilletos for backstabbing, because that still pushes them towards using specific weapons. Those weapons already have advantages over other weapons and are balanced equally against other weapons. Declaring them the most useless weapon type in the game is patently false, stilletos in particular are actually rather good.

GOG is fine. Their primary distinguishing feature is the DRM-freeness so they are not going to ditch that any time soon. Their early access products are a lot more monitored and restricted than Steam's free for all, they cherry pick them more compared to Steam though I personally don't buy early-access any more since its become a joke.

I assume this guy was strung up and left hanging from the nearest tree? Or nailed to a cross? Guy needs to die. Seriously though, dwarves are only perceived as being generic because games are reluctant to put them in, so we end up with just one Dwarf who has to be token dwarf guy who is so dwarf in every dwarf way. Personally, I think they should just have more dwarves in the game in general just to force them to include a wide display of dwarves without resorting to the 'anti-dwarf' (a dwarf who is made to be the complete opposite of normal dwarves just to make them stand out). For instance, Galvino the animancer in White March so should have been a dwarf instead of boring human, or had pirate ship captain dwarf as a companion.

Ah! It was from the videos! Thanks, I must've been too distracted by all the other pretties to notice the portraits. Pallegina definitely looks like she's laying an egg or something with that look of consternation (or constipation) on her face. Takehu is meh, but we knew that because he's not a dwarf. Xoti looks pretty much like I expect her to, though I do think in portraits the character should be shown with the hood down so you can actually make out their features, but that's my personal preference.

Yeah, Orlans hitting puberty earlier could be it, especially since I do recall Durance refering to the first one as an Orlan girl too, it just seems rather short even for an Orlan (heh, short...). There isn't anything I have read that has given the coming of age of each race, but since I can't see any reason on the timeline why they couldn't just put the first wicht at a later date then I guess they decided that must be the age of puberty for Orlans. What, that means Orlan Baby can be hitting puberty at the start of Deadfire!
