  1. Yeah, I like the style.
  2. Agreed. However the loss of all skills is unfortunate(pretty sure I heard that before, but still annoying). Well, most of the Deus Ex skills are actually being integrated into the augment system really. They've just merged the two systems from what I understand. I'll have to see how it works before I can say if that's a good or a bad thing though.
  3. Tried to run the game with AllowD3D10=True and it just crashes on startup. P.S. : Yeah, I have Windows 7.
  4. They look pretty good if you ask me. Now, I'd like to know where those screenshots are taken though. Oh, and why they didn't you AA for the screenies too.
  5. By the way, will the tribal pre-order bonus hint at the presence of tribes in the area or it's simply another nod to the first two games?
  6. Reloading times + recoil aren't though. I'm not that bothered with them not reintegrating skills though, since it seems that most of what skill did will be contained into augments, that will play a much more integral part in the game.
  7. So, we can poison melee weapons, throwing melee weapons make a return, as super stimpaks do? Even if the screenshots are kinda bad (seriously, can they bother at least turning up anti-aliasing and searching a good angle before taking them?) I'm quite happy.
  8. ... so how does this fit with Obsidian again? It doesn't, but there's no really need to follow the formula.
  9. Playing Alpha Protocol and enjoying it. ............ And no, you don't really need to reply. I know you want, but don't.
  10. That was some ****ed up revelation when we first heard that music. Bear McCreary is talented though, no doubt about it, I was.. well, let's just say, very surprised, when I learned that Eureka's soundtrack came from him too.
  11. That's some pretty awesome resource allocation.
  12. Not really. It's you that got this 'original IP for sure!' out of nowhere, since Feargus never said it.
  13. Doesn't NV take place a couple of decades after FO3? 3 years after FO3. Which makes it 203 years after the Great War.
  14. It's 200 years after the war. If you ask me, having another ruined enormous city with path blocked with rubbles would be MUCH MUCH more boring.
  15. Read a translation from a polish preview. Must admit, the team seems to really say all the right things.. I really hope they can deliver, because their philosphy is pretty solid. And I like how they make the gameplay sound... reminds me of .. well, Deus Ex.
  16. Actually, Feargus hinted, but never stated anything. He could very well be teasing a bit, or even felt that, considering the freedom they have, they're building their own fantasy world even if inside a non-original IP.
  17. Wait.. you watched more than one Uwe Boll's movie and SURVIVED? That's one hell of a feat.
  18. Is it normal that Darcy called me Mikey when I've never met him before, when he was assigned as my handler in a Saudi Arabia mission? Must admit I'm warming up to the writing by the way.. it's kind of something in between a love letter and an affectionate parody of spy stories/movies. The perk system is absolutely fantastic and incredibly reactive. Definitely feels like a 'learn by doing' system done right.. hope to see Obsidian expanding on it for one of their next projects.
  19. At least a year and a couple of months, considering when Anthony Davis first posted about the project on RPG Codex... probably more I'd say. Also, AP had been worked 2 years before it was announced, IIRC. They're showing at E3 dammit, must be they've got some very convincing stuff.
  20. Obsidian has designed the game to tailor to that. They had to scrap, story, voice acting and gameplay to do that, but trust me, it's a great experience anyway. Just returned from my hands-on with Nathaniel Chapman, George Ziets, Sasha Grey and Mr.T.
  21. I don't know why but the image of Bioware going to Obsidian and saying 'listen, this game hasn't been successful.. can you do a sequel for us since you're not as big as us in the business?' is both hilarious and terrifying.
  22. Ok, now that I finally received my copy... well, I'm writing it down here because you're the dev I see more often on the forums but.. KUDOS FOR ALPHA PROTOCOL! Really. I won't deny that the game has flaws (some are technical, some design) but damn if it isn't fun. Probably the most fun Obsidian game I've played ;) Good job!

  23. Thanks, MarteenDee, tried your settings and I must say the game runs much smoother than before. Can't really say I notice any difference visually, but then again, I'm just at Saudi Arabia. Kudos!
