  1. Don't agree, sorry. We've seen a retrofuturistic Vegas, there is the classical Fallout atmosphere (or Fallout 3 atmosphere, for those that consider it a departure in art style.. I don't), you can quickly see a bunch of new monsters, the two warring factions and the casino minigames, there's quite the contrast between the Vegas city (almost untouched by the war and the decay) and the rest of the settlements we see... it looks anything but generic. I agree that it's far from the best trailer they could put out but generic it is not.
  2. We're going to make the biggest patch ever ? Unless they're going to have DLCs or a sequel I doubt they'll announce anything at E3. What part of maybe and something is hard to get? :) The e. It's a strange letter. Very strange.
  3. As you can see a couple of messages earlier, yes, there were doubts. And an official confirmation works much better than just saying they're concept art, come on, can't you see yourself?.
  4. "looks like concept art. I'll get that fixed. Thanks!" - David Hoffman (Square Enix's producer working on the game) Guess that fixes it.

  6. Another site said they were screenshots and said that if they all looked all like that, they would be of a concept-art like quality. I don't know myself. The ones with a character are weird : the background really looks like a concept art, but the character doesn't fit in completely, it seems to be a 3D model, and that would indicate that it is indeed a screenshot. Maybe a ... dev could clarify?
  7. It's SEGA's call at this point. Until they announce anything, we will have to wait and see.
  8. That bit of the trailer showing the factions and their camps/cities was pretty good, New Vegas looks definitely a lot more varied in environments compared to Fallout 3. @PoetAndMadman : Previews mentioned a 'Plasma Caster' which fits the description of the original plasma rifle, and also said it was an old favorite so.. fingers crossed.
  9. It looks definitely from the same series (so it's a Glock) but as Ausir noted it's a bit different.. possibly a Glock 90?
  10. It has the double potential of being boring and spoiler-y, so no thanks Alpha Protocol's trailers managed to hide the spoilers in a pretty good way.. well, except for the 'Shaheed spoiler'. tutorial + 3 missions THEN you get to that point of the story. And yet they've used it as a premise to market the game.
  11. Why? Are you a masochist or what? Honestly? The Gametrailers comments? Why do you do this to yourself Slowtrain? Why?
  12. Here's the thing : me too, but others encountered a lot more bugs. Trust me, it isn't that simple and linear when it comes to bugs. I realize this, but I can't make my game more buggy to rate it based on how it would be if it were crippled by bugs. The game I played was easily worth a score in the high 80s. I think you're missing my point Oblarg. I'm not saying that the rating or the point of all reviews was spot on (because some reviewers completely missed core elements of the gameplay, and some very nice and original systems Obsidian put in the game), what I'm saying is that I can understand the reason. How much you can enjoy this game greatly depends on your tastes as a gamer, and personally, I'm enjoying it a lot. Now, if I had to write a review... giving it an objective analysis would be very hard. But my enjoyment could easily be compared to the score it received on Canard PC. Oh, and by the way, while the visual presentation isn't perfect... the way cutscene are 'directed' is imho. It really feels like a spy film at times, and it certainly felt more cinematic than Mass Effect 1 (didn't play Mass Effect 2). Whether you enjoy the cinematic-ness (bleargh, I wish I could find a more elegant way of saying this ) depends on your tastes as a player.. again.

  14. Dragon Age : Origins has been criticized a lot when it comes to gfx though. Really, trust me, I've heard/read people going all 'the visuals are ****ty', so it's not like this treatment for Alpha Protocol was unexpected. The scores weren't dragged down for it, however. And most of the major game reviews didn't mention it. I doubt that it was the visual presentation that dragged down AP. Not only that, at least, but a whole lot of other flaws (little and big) here and there, like bugginess, wonky camera, clunky controls, unsatisfying shooting (debatable, but that's what a lot of reviewers felt) and an unoriginal story (granted, Obsidian choose to do an unoriginal story, and the narrative is at times incredible for the reactivity but.... some reviewers really didn't care about it.. now that you make me think about it, that's a good point in criticizing certain reviews.. you can't praise Dragon Age's story and then criticize Alpha Protocol's). I'm enjoying the game a lot, but it's not like the reviewers invented the flaws, they're in the game.

  16. Pretty good trailer, though I wished they focused a bit more on.. the other elements of the game. You know, the ones that don't involve combat.
  17. It's certainly not abysmal looking. Compared to other UE3 games it looks subpar though.
  18. Squenix dubbed them as screenshots but.. well... they don't really look like screenshots at all. It was probably just an error, it's clear they're concept arts.
  19. Disclaimer : I'm as far from a shooter enthusiast as you can get. Art style looks pretty good. Everything else looked pretty boring, honestly.
  20. GameBanshee review. No score, but it's one of the most fair minded (if debatable) analysis I've read so far. It's four pages also!
  21. I'd say CIA outpost, Marburg's villa.. maybe the ruins? Unsure about the third one, then again, I'm pretty bad at stealthing (still, it was pretty nice hearing Marburg tell me that he didn't know I was in Rome until 1 hour ago.. ).
  22. So no Episode 3. Valve, you are disappoint. I think they will skip Ep3 alltogether and announce HL3 at E3 2011. At least that's what I hope. The episodes *are* HL3. Also, Mass Effect/Dragon Age sequels at E3? YESSSS. Wonder if Bioware isn't rushing things... Well, count me interested on both, though I've yet to play Mass Effect 2.
  23. Promises of great reactivity. A novel setting for an RPG. Obsidian's expertise in making RPGs. Then came the previews and interviews and most of the design decisions sounded good, so I decided to buy it. I must admit, some reviews scared me a bit, but in the end I'm enjoying the game. Granted, I was expecting a bit more, considering this was probably Obsidian's most important project.
  24. As far as I know, poor old texmod.
  25. Yeah, but who's the perfect Thorton? It depends on his personality. And since the personality it's up to you... I'll have to think about it anyway.
