  1. I get the feeling that we're bound for a new wave of radicals that will push back against this whole PC, we can see them forming right now but I wonder what will become when they reach full strength.
  2. This is ultimately the fault of the same government that spout all those ideals that they fail to live up to. Is it such a surprise that people are disillusioned with the state of the West? Also, this is politics there are no clear black and white and it seems like the West is the darker shade of grey.
  3. But the west is tool for corporations that are behind all of the world's current problems. I won't deny that global corporations have at times acted unethically and have in fact negatively impacted the economic growth of some countries, I'm sure we have all read the book " Confessions of an Economic Hitman" but that is in the past. That view is very 1980's and how global corporations use to conduct themselves. Nowadays there is much more social responsibility and I firmly believe that corporations do more good than bad overall That's like saying a tapeworm that has fused with your intestine is beneficial because it can't be removed.

  5. You seem to have missed the part where I said that i'm not for policing anyone i'm just against them changing terms so their condition is less of a stigma. Which it should be since it is unhealthy and while i'm not against fat people in general I would like to reserve the right to have an opinion on both their person and their condition without being persecuted because of being politically incorrect. Same desire also extends to a lot of other PC topics.
  6. I just wonder why everyone thinks their feelings ****ing matter so much that there should legislation to protect them. No I'm not saying there should laws to protect overweight people from verbal abuse ....I'm saying civil society should just reject that "I don't like fat people forum " In a civil society people would feel ashamed to be a burden on others and recognize that addiction is bad for yourself and those around you. You want deal with idyllic examples then I can too imagine a society where people are responsible for themselves and don't become a 400 pound parasite. I hear you and sometimes due to frustration I just want to take that same view and basically condemn for example overweight people for " not taking proper responsibility for there lives. If other people can do it then why can't they " But I see this as a myopic view of the problem and to be honest lacking in human empathy because you don't know all the reasons for obesity ...sometimes its medical. And also if we target overweight people then where do we stop? Lets move onto drug addicts and depressed people next and " stop being a drag on society and fix your issues" These types of issues are much more nuanced and complex than just dismissing them Frustration is the name of the game and why you shouldn't try to change other people, they will resist because they see their "self" as themselves and fear change. So don't try because you will get frustrated and come to the natural conclusion that its easier to use force. If I ever see an asthma patient that flat out refuses to use their inhaler while having an attack and resist every attempt to help them I would regard them as insane if they ever complained about the asthma they refuse to treat. People that are predisposed to becoming overweight are not excused, that just means that they have a condition they're aren't managing or refusing to. I don't want to police anyone but if drug addicts try to say that heroin is an alternative lifestyle choice and that it should be legal then **** them and everyone that supports them. Same for other addictions including food addiction. Its one thing to tolerate failure but changing meaning so that losers feel like winners even when there are clear health risks affects people negatively.

  9. No, notice his/her signature "Lord of Lords", put that together with the style of prose that indicates that English is possibly not their first language and that they've made two inane threads about some deeply shallow concepts...It's LoF's new alter.
  10. Look, you seem to be either enthusiastic or a troll because your ideas don't come across through your wording. Here's a tip: you could have the best game idea ever and if you're unable to communicate the right way no one will be able to "get" it. Mainly, what I get from your post is a random assortment of ideas that have little cohesion and can't be rightly be called a system. Also I still don't see the purpose of this thread; although I get the feeling that you might be someone's avatar and this is just a troll attempt (or English isn't obviously your first language). Either way, please tell us what you hoped to accomplish by making this thread. Disregard of this last request will be interpreted as if you where a troll and I will cease any interaction.
  11. I've been getting drunk as well, but I'm afraid I have a better taste in music. You obviously don't get it; this ain't about joy its about self torment.
  12. Ahh, humor is such an excellent way of coping with this news. Meanwhile I've been getting drunk and listening to Enya.
  13. Did you consult the heavens to come up with that answer? I pointed out a very obvious false equivalence. Whereas I pointed out an clear example of a field where you don't need to be an expert in to realize that its bogus.
  14. This will be hard to believe but I say the following without any animosity: Your post is too pretentious and egotistical, there isn't any room for discussion since you're so into your idea (self) that you forgot to share it. I don't know what you expect us to discuss, but I just know that you seem to be someone who thinks that he/she had an original thought and its just waiting to realize that someone else had the same idea a long time before them. (There ain't nothing new under the sun) Please clarify your intent in making this thread and give us a topic of discussion instead of a dissertation.
  15. Free day, grilled some beef and i'm getting saucered with Scotch...realize that the "What you did Today" thread is getting a little low. Not a lot happening?
  16. Let's not speculate, although I doubt that Avellone being an industry veteran would be unable to deal with cuts. But everyone seems ready to cast Sawyer as an SJW and salvage Avellone just because of that incident with PoE.
  17. 2.5D or 2 and a half D. Basically fake 2D.
  18. Developing is far harder, well, if you want to do it right anyway Patching can be pretty easy and low effort, particularly with this shallow context. Patching is easy if you're lazy and don't care if take a tangled mess and add another one on top of it. But it becomes near impossible to untangle the whole thing and fix it.
  19. Actually I would say that developing is more time consuming and patching is harder.
  20. Dunning-Kruger strikes again. Did you consult the heavens to come up with that answer?
  21. Who is the best feminist scholar? Twilight Sparkle I have no idea, but I sure as hell have a strong candidate for who isn't Boo Come on now, trust your instincts. For example, when someone says "left scholar", i say Noam Chomsky. When i say "Gender pay gap/feminist scholar" you say....? I don't say anything, because I'm studying medicine, not gender studies, therefore I lack the kind of insight into the field that would let me make such judgments. There is value in acknowledging the limits of one's knowledge. I haven't studied Astrology but i'm pretty certain that its bogus.
