  1. To me the perfect portion of the game was the White Orchard, there a was a major event that happened there that we learn through every quest by seeing how it affected every NPC. It helps to give a sense of a real world while developing characters, I wish the rest of the game had that feel, Velen and Novingard have a bit of it but I feel Skellige was rushed. So I agree with you that they attempted to it but ultimately they had to focus on finishing the game rather than developing it, I sincerely hope that what you say comes true and they manage to develop these areas further through patches and new content. BTW, kudos to CDP for releasing new content for free rather than selling it as DLC. They get brownie point from me for that.
  2. Ok, I don't know the point of your post but I just want to clarify a few things. Pixels and Vectors are two completely different rending methods, Vectors have the advantage of maintaining quality at any resolution and pixels can store more diverse color information. 2.5D uses 3D assets in a 2d manner, if they changed the perspective then it would full 3D. It's developed the same as 3D just with less detail as the camera is fixed on just one perspective (e.g: you don't make the back of a building because it will never be seen as it is an isometric game) Although the mode 7 is interesting (I didn't knew about it) It is not what is currently used.
  3. Maybe is one of things like they officially are separated but still collaborate, just like Chris was with InExile.
  4. Can't you guys just remove the image? I agree with keeping the forums clean but it seems like a punitive measure rather than a preventive one.
  5. I got to say I subscribed to postmodern Jukebox and I'm loving it. It really lends an air of quality to otherwise dreary music, if only because it removes all the flash and embraces the melody.
  6. Yeah...that's good in theory...but not so much in practice when getting along with others is pretty much required for your time to be constructive. Yeah, I'd go one step further and say that it's not even that good in theory, let me explain (pedantic **** mode ON). If you don't give a **** what others say, there is no point in posting or saying anything, ever — just thinking or writing in a journal would accomplish the same result and is more convenient. And if you only care about what others say if they agree with you, that is also pointless, as they already agree with you and reinforcing the same point accomplishes nothing, much like yelling inside an empty cave. It makes no sense to care only about what others say if they agree with you after you convince them, because you can *not* know before listening to their reaction if they agree. So this leaves only two possibilities: either you don't care what people think and only speak because you love the sound of your own voice, or you speak in order to elicit a reaction, whatever that may be, so you do in fact care about what others say. If only because, barring physical demonstrations, you need to listen to their reaction to know that your message has been received at all, and is intelligible. Speaking up and not giving a **** about what other people say is about as sensible as a deaf person that cannot read lips and doesn't know sign language trying to have a conversation. (no, I don't really have anything useful to add to the legal debate) This is an interesting post and raises the question " why do we engage in debates on the Internet " ? I participate in debates to give people a different perspective and to sometimes correct a spurious view someone may have. I also like to learn new things about topics and that also happens sometimes when people give there views For me it always has been about self improvement, it's hard to find the people and the time to debate and test one's ideals but the internet has the benefits of connecting the whole world and keeping records for posterity. Doesn't mean that every argument is worth it but that's one of the reason I like these forums, the people here are worth it.
  7. So Trump is playing the spoiler candidate yet again against the Republicans. My conspiracy sense tells me that the big five families are behind this.
  8. Shame about the 20 dollar bill though, Andrew Jackson is one of my favorite presidents for the same reason that he probably is being pushed out of the bill: He kicked out the Jews that run the Federal Reserve from the US.
  9. Weeeeeelllll, with Troll Decoction you have it already, but I get what you mean. Except that when you mix troll decotion with those effects you get immortal Geralt
  10. I never did either in my previous games but this time it seems like the strongest is the alchemy tree. I just wish someone would mod it so that decotions count towards your toxicity so that you can have infinite potions for an hour. Yes; that's how broken the alchemy tree is, that with just one small modification you can have a immediate regen for an hour.
  11. Next step, boycott churches that don't want to marry gays
  12. Reading the leaked developer documents after having played the Witcher is quite revealing of how things change when they went into game. I
  13. History is written by the victors but it doesn't make it a fact.
  14. I seem to remember people pointing out the double standard of Gawker coming out against the massive leak of private celebrities pictures(AKA the fappening AKA that one with Jennifer Lawrence) their treatment of the Hulk Hogan situation. Liberals seem to have very convenient blind spots when it comes to their biases, I quite frankly feel that it is genuine psychopathy

  16. I'm touched by your concern for my levels of understanding regarding the ways a totalitarian state operates, I really am, but I have lived in one, thankyouverymuch. So maybe if you could dial down the condescension, it would be much appreciated. Sorry, it is hard to convey tone over the web. I'm genuinely curious as I realize my perspective may differ from most. Also, you didn't answer my question.
  17. I'm just pointing out that the complete breakdown of civil liberties people envision as the ultimate and inevitable end result of "restricting freedom of speech in video games" seems not to have happened in Germany (yet). Germans had a very specific reason for banning that topic (although history revisionists will speculate about it) They also had banned any violence against humans in games, I don't know if this still holds true. That said, I'm curious what the First World standard for them to consider a state oppressive is. Because it seems like you people have a very Hollywood idea of what a totalitarian state is. You originally from Cuba right, I imagine you have experienced real dictatorial policies ? Whats your definition? I don't think that there is a one size fit all definition, but on some part propaganda makes it look worse than it seems. I know this because every day we were pumped full of news about how bad the US government is. Now I get to see the same from the other side, and how the US demonizes their opponents, so I can't really say that free speech looks all that different from what I had before. ??? What do you mean? What is a Hollywood or non-Hollywood idea of what a totalitarian state is? An edited version of the truth which focuses on what you want to show rather than what it actually is like day to day and what the people living under it actually want.

  19. They do that in Germany.
  20. I use grenades against wraiths as they allow me more freedom of movement. Enemies have long winding attacks on which they run up to you, I don't know if you fence or have fought in real life but once you're committed to an attack it becomes difficult to change it's direction without it losing power as you have to exert force away from the target to compensate the difference between where the hit is heading and where you want it to go. Hence why I find it a bit suspect when a common bandit has enough presence of mind in the middle of an attack to notice that I dodge and switch directions. Plus enemies strike you without facing your direction, so I can clearly see how the animation is mismatched with the hit. (Think of it like Dark Souls 2). Also, bandits block your attacks without actually unsheathing their weapon. Every time you strike an enemy it seems like their guard is perfect despite the fact that they are common bandits or that they are switching from bow to sword and you caught them "unprepared". To continue the comparison in Shadow of Mordor I could vault over a shield (unless the enemy had a specific perk) I could also counter their moves, striking them didn't result in me being stun-locked and I could use powers on them. So I had more ways to deal with them other than use power or counter. After reviewing this I'm not longer sure if these are problems with the combat or with the leveling system, since it seems that the only virtue of leveling is not dying of one hit and causing more damage. While you gain more versatility with abilities your are still restricted by the slots and the fact that the most useful and powerful abilities require you to commit yourself to a path. For a game about a character with a mixed class it doesn't really encourage multiclassing.
  21. But that's the only tactic that seems to work, rolling works but leaves you to far away to counter attack. Dodge leaves you in range but you have trouble using it repeatedly and against multiple enemies (big problem when fighting drowners) Domination requires some levels before it can be used on battle and not to mention the awful skill slot system. I guess that it's should be called auto aim instead (even though is not a shooter) anyways I'm kind of tired of dodging ahead of time just to see enemies change their attack mid flight an veer into my location. The reason why I think Arkham was superior is how different units work together, they have someone tanking, ranged DPS and regular guys in multitude. Enemies in W3 don't have any group tactics that you need to overcome, despite having created different variants of the same monster they all behave the same as their low counterpart. Fighting drowners doesn't feel that much different from fighting wolves and fighting a ****atrice is the same as fighting a Forktail. Best fight I've had so far was when I managed to found Foglets, Water Hags and Drowners together. BTW, Golden Oriole+Devil's Puffball best way to kill humans.
  22. I still haven't found an use for some of the dections though, too damn specific.
  23. Decotions are one of my favorite parts in this game, you get the right mix and you're invincible. Sadly they don't make combat any more exciting.
