  1. The thing is that some of us don't subscribe to the school of cultural relativism and know that there are views that are inherently superior to others. People wallowing in contempt while doing nothing to improve their condition is very unproductive.
  2. So SJ is now trying to carry the White Man's burden, to carry those less privileged towards a semblance of morality. I truly find the idea of debating with people that believed that virgin blood would cure aids or similar intelligence level, pointless.
  3. Its one of those kinda games that gets better the older you get. Most of those gamers probably played it in their late teens and having replayed it over the years have discovered how different the game is, depending on your own maturity.. Much like Planescape. Nah, Planescape is too wordy.
  4. I wholeheartedly believe that the Wolverine movies (that includes the X men movies) were made out of Bryan Singers attempt to woo Hugh Jackman.
  5. I think that may be the point since Oby's other thread about Jewish blood rituals got shut down in a jiff.
  6. Because that was an inside job. You don't even need drones to do a bad thing just a car full of propane tanks and fertilizer, send a few out to key locations and massive terror strike. The only two reasons I can think of as to why they don't it is that either they are just opportunists that just want to cement their power bases on the Middle East or that they are incapable of even conceiving such an attack. The latter seems less likely as they often do this type of attacks on occupied territory.
  7. I think that it was just that what makes it worthy of recognition, because it was just bad enough to kill the franchise without reeking of sabotage. Upon closer inspection however you begin to see just how ridiculous this movie is. Sounds like you never took a closer look at the preceding films. Did one of the extras looked like he slip on a banana peel because he fell 2 seconds before batman was even near him? Did the main bad guy had the funniest voice ever?

  9. It doesn't bode well with me that a movie will make a joke of itself deliberately, just doing a shoddy job so that people make fun of it. Although I forgave The Dark Knight Rises because it is a good study on how to ruin a franchise to get out of contractual obligations (I know what you did Nolan) I'm getting the feeling that the Suicide Squad is just doing it for laughs. I don't like when people produce things contemptuously.
  10. No but I wouldn't mind being frisked by her.
  11. Well I guess only time will tell but so far our social experiment is working for us Next you should tackle homelessness, just hide them away and pretend they're in a happy place. It will also work for you since it seem that you care less about the actual issue than about mending your feelings.
  12. I don't really understand your question or how it applies to what I said. Can you clarify? Just that a state government while not directly subordinate to the Federal government is still an institution. So if police are racially profiling it counts as being institutionalized. Or is your point that institutional discrimination is non existent?
  13. well, we likely know the most relevant context: location, location, location. http://www.npr.org/programs/atc/features/2001/nov/cincinnati/011101.cincinnati.html http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/nearly-12-years-after-riots-cincinnati-race-relations-improving-but-more-progress-needed http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/local/colerain/2015/05/08/colerain-police-department-taking-proactive-approach-race-relations/26988701/ http://www.newrepublic.com/article/119133/cincinnatis-2001-race-riots-reveal-solutions-fergusons-unrest the State prosecutes crimes, not the victim. the State has reasons to be cautious in this... case. HA! Good Fun! 40 people, that goes well beyond a simple beating and that not one of them looked at themselves and realized that a mob that size could kill one person. Or I guess they didn't care, I would go further and say that they lacked simple humanity but that might assuming too much. Even though they probably do.
  14. Police and courts are part of the government aren't they? So how come they treat some crimes one way and others a different one, isn't that segregation?
  15. And that is a good thing. Well, it would be better if it was governed by character stats. I couldn't care less about fighting games. But in RPGs, I hate it when my ability to fast-click the mouse or smash at the keyboard becomes the most important thing. His waxing lyrical about positioning, blocking, special moves, dodging and all this crap is what ruins an RPG for me. AAA or not. [/OT] Also, how is the video relevant to the topic? And that's why you have easy difficulty, so that less skilled people can play the game. Yet the problem is with the core mechanics and how tame their are, lots of flash but no control or strategy.
  16. Say what you will, I'd rather chase a pointer than to run around pointlessly because of a vague quest description.
  17. Sorry to rerail this thread but this ain't the "Bruce improvement thread".
