I have to agree. I wish they had gone more in a Stalker-ish way when designing the game, instead of this Disney-ish tone. I mean, I absolutely love this game, but I just personally prefer the ominous atmosphere from the Stalker apocalypse more. I do love the weapons, the world, the characters, the quests and all the little details though. Right now I'd rate it 9/10. I really hope Obsidian keeps this level of quality up for their upcoming projects.

What you did today
I was in a pissy mood this morning when I was on my way to the commute. It was cold and wet. Then I walked past a lit apartment and a gorgeous, topless girl ran past the window.. I've been smiling since.

Good news
You know you're old when you remember how you, as a kid, used to dial up BBS's using a Commodore 64, a 300 baud modem (that you actually plugged your entire phone into!), and searched for those valuable cheat codes and hacks.

Fallout: New Vegas loads slowly? Then I'm guessing my SSD is working, because entering and exiting locations is basically instantaneous for me.

I had my second crash last night. The game just suddenly returned me to Windows and a small popup said "FalloutNV has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution.". I waited for a minute or so before Windows said "Windows could not find a solution. Was this information helpful?". I filled the little textbox with profanity and sent it back to Microsoft.

Or you could send it to me, I could start a new thread, post your PM publicly and we could all point and laugh at it.

That's what happened to me after installing Anchorage for Fallout 3. It became completely unplayable. Still only one crash in New Vegas though *knocks on wood*

Diablo 3 Officially Announced
I've been to a castle close by where I live, where they have this room called "rustkammaren" (I have no idea how to translate that). It's basically a room full of medieval weapons. They have hand-crossbows in there! Like, tiny crossbows with a pistol grip! I imagine it would be possible to dual-wield those. I have no idea how you load them though. They also had this massive musket.. with nine barrels! It looked amazing! It is said that the only guy who ever fired it was killed by the recoil (it has only been fired once..). Unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures in there, but if you ever come to Stockholm/Uppsala, Sweden, make sure you visit Skokloster Castle.

Have you guys noticed the many hollowed out rocks placed here and there in New Vegas? Anyone know what they are for? They usually just contain mundane items for me..

Englands Austerity Plan
Last time I went to London I forgot they aren't in Schengen and left my passport at home.. That was troublesome.

That's the current list on Sweden's biggest game retailer. At least we're doing our part to keep the PC scene alive! Actually, I should have gotten a screendump from yesterday when the PC version of the Collector's Edition was in ninth or tenth place. But it was sold out so it fell off the list. Also note that five out of ten of the top pre-orders are for PC games. Dying.. right.

I've had it on so far, but I am turning it off when I get home tonight. It's been driving me nuts to hear the same "news" repeated over and over and over again. I wish they had recorded a couple of hundred little soundbites to randomize the news broadcasts. Little stories of no consequence from around the wasteland to shuffle things around.. "Farmer Milton out in Searchlight reports a good crop of maize this year. Uncertainty whether this good fortune is the result of increased radioactive levels in the environment or Milton's change to Golden Gecko fertilizer still persist.". I'm guessing it would only have been possible if they hadn't had someone famous as the news reader. And why do I keep hearing the same two songs over and over? Johnny Guitar and Jingle Jangle. So sick of them. Can it really be that expensive to license music from the fifties? It probably is.

Let's hope these numbers are correct: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/17266/leaked...ults/index.html Approximately 25-27% faster than the 5870. Reason enough for me to upgrade, especially since I'm not very fond of my Powercolor (which is a replacement product because my retailer screwed up my Sapphire Vapor-X order).

I had my first hard lock of my entire system last night. I will now commence my whining about how infinitely buggy Obsidian's products are, like the rest of you.

What you did today
Yeah, I saw a similar show on Swedish television once. They were out to prove how deadly alcohol is when you drive. They basically drank one beer and drove the car into a ditch. People out to prove a point do the dumbest things.

This is the cave where you find the aforementioned spoiler-tagged weapon: It can be a pain in the ass to find on the inside though.

Crap, Spider (and the rumours) were right. The 6870 consumes less power than the 5870, but is performing equal or even slightly worse. At about 60% of the price of a 5870! http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6850-6870-review/ So it's incredible value but not what I am looking for. I am guessing the high end will now be called 69XX.. but what will the dual-GPU setup be called then?

Dear Obsidian Entertainment
If it's any consolation, I paid $115 for my Collector's Edition. At least you're not the worst sucker!
