  1. I thought so too for three years or so. Then, on a whim, I bought the Epic Edition earlier this year and played through it. If you manage to look past the horrid voice acting and a few other flaws, there's a surprisingly good game hiding underneath it all. I was especially surprised by the variety of the side quests hiding in the vast wilderness. Some of them were really well thought out. I'm actually stoked about Two Worlds 2, something which surprises even myself. I didn't know I liked Two Worlds that much.
  2. You're just saying that to get into my pants.
  3. And yet I prefer the sadistic way. "Xbox Live Spy Department is reporting there's a Halo-generation kid that hasn't had fun in 28..29..30 seconds!!" "Quick, throw in an achievement to distract him!!" "Nooo, he is about to die without consequences and with a Revitalizing pod two feet from where he is! Panic!!" "Make the weapons stronger! Make the enemies weaker and more braindead! And add an extra achievement for dying, goddammit!!"
  4. My Fallout 3 experience was worse than Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion combined. Daggerfall crashed a lot and had me fall through the floor all the time, sure. Morrowind had the broken quests and weird anomalies. Oblivion.. had the Radian AI. All those were bad. But Fallout 3 is the only game I've played that always ended with my computer being completely unrecoverable from a crash, to the point where I had to restart the hardware to get it running again. After I installed Anchorage, I don't think I ever actually turned off my game via software, but only from complete system restarts! So no matter what Obsidian does with Fallout: New Vegas, it can hardly get any worse for me.
  5. Great! So even if Arcania wasn't the game I was hoping for, I still have Two Worlds 2 coming out in a heartbeat. And Fallout: New Vegas! This is going to be a good gaming month.
  6. Well, hmm. It does look good, but.. Alvin mentioned there are no loading screens, that the game streams the levels in the background. The problem I see with the video is that it's all a long corridor, you only need to stream the parts of the level directly in front of you (or behind you, if you let the player go backwards through a level). Does the engine support open world streaming too (where the player can go in any direction at any time), or will it just work for corridor based games?
  7. Oh. I guess I am used to beating on a single wolf for five minutes in Gothic then, because I thought that was fast..
  8. Could you explain what you mean? I watched him slice through like ten spiders in two seconds, it looked pretty fast to me. Or do you mean the walking around?
  9. Interesting tech preview: http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/arcania-goth...90,2318367.html It's in German, but just click on the picture titles to see the difference between high, medium and low settings. Arcania seems to scale pretty well.
  10. Now if only we could convince them to make a Gothic-inspired game..
  11. It costs $113 in Sweden and isn't sold out. Add p&p to that.

Nice to see Henrik Sedin being named captain for Vancouver. Well deserved, the guy is a class act. I wonder what his brother will be? Also, it's great that the NHL are playing a few games in Sweden each year. But why did they choose San Jose Sharks and Columbus? The stars in Sweden are the Sedins, Niklas B
  14. A bit off-topic, but.. What kind of camera did they use for this picture? The Barbie video girl? Seriously, that's the worst quality photo I've seen in forever.
  15. Rumours. Noone knows what's up yet.
  16. So uh.. Fallout: New Vegas, Two Worlds 2 and Risen 2 are the games I'm still looking forward to. Later on I'll check out Rage, I think. I'm also on the fence about Dead Rising 2. I would buy Read Dead Redemption PC in an instant. I've skipped a lot of games lately.. Divinity 2, Drakensang, Alpha Protocol, Mass Effect 2, etc. Also, a lot of my anticipated games have just.. disappeared. Dead Island (grr!), White Gold, The Precursors (even though I've played through it in Russian), etc. Bit miffed about Dead Island, it sounded so good. Oh well.
  17. Come to papa.. http://www.techspot.com/news/40587-radeon-...ts-xt-core.html
  18. Nope. It's more of a popularity contest among nations!
  19. No. Since it's steam it's probably going to be 15
  20. Yeah, I played the demo and although I kind of liked the simplicity of the game mechanics and the graphics, the humour felt so old and tired that it was off-putting. Still thinking of getting it now that it's getting a PC release.. Should be cheaper than Xbox Live.
  21. It's actually not only brands. It's how people around the world react to the name (reputation) of a nation. Apparently Canada has.. Grizzly bears. And Switzerland has.. uh.. cheese. And clocks. Or something. Anyhow, it's a combination of a lot of factors, not only company brands. I just used those examples because they were quoted in the article.
  22. You think death would stop a guy like him? He'll be here as an alt, in some way or another, don't worry about it.
  23. National brand ranking: 1. Sweden / 76,3 2. Canada / 75,6 3. Australia / 75,6 4. Switzerland / 75,3 5. Norway / 74,4 6. Finland / 73,1 7. Denmark / 72,2 8. Austria / 68,9 9. Holland / 68,4 10. Belgium / 68,0 Source: http://www.reputationinstitute.com/index (you need to register to download the PDF) Apparently people around the world are impressed by how Sweden has handled the economic crisis and how such a small country has so many internationally strong companies (IKEA and H&M are being quoted). Take that, smelly Norwegians, suicidal Finns and drunk Danes! The rest of you aren't even worth mentioning.
  24. You probably shouldn't have done that. The word on GoG is that its one of the few broken releases (bug overload) they put out. You're talking to a Gothic fan. I laugh those puny bugs IN THE FACE
