  1. AMD Threadripper 1950X review: Better than Intel in almost every way https://arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2017/08/amd-threadripper-review-1950x-1920x/
  2. So, the full game (all ten acts) of Path of Exile released yesterday. I've been playing pretty much non-stop since then and I've reached the end of act seven. The last two or three acts have been a mixture of new levels and old levels redesigned with your previous actions in mind. Where you first encountered (for example) a huge bear, you will now encounter a huge undead bear, controlled by a necromancer. Where you first fought bandits, you're not fighting skeletons and so on. The things you killed in the first acts around come back in different forms later in the game. I love it. But the game is hard. I'm up to level 62 in hardcore now and it feels like every battle will be my last. I've been sooo close to dying a hundred times now. I just know my time is up. There are achievements for reaching level 60, 70, 80 and 90 in hardcore. I will probably never get the one for 70 even.
  3. I'm playing Path of Exile again. In five days they're releasing new content that takes the existing 4 chapters to 10! That will be fun to explore. Unfortunately I'm playing a hardcore character so I'll probably not survive for five days though..
  4. Champions of Krynn.. I finished that in 1990. I think I still have the first two entries of that trilogy in their Gold boxes. The third was never released for my Commodore 64, annoyingly enough.
  5. Just beware if you decide to go for the X299. Only a few of the Intel CPU's available for that platform are actually made for it, ie. some of them are just rebranded i7's.
  6. What game has good combat according to you?
  7. Since I'm pretty hyped about Elex (understatement of 2017 right there), here's some stupid videos to explain to you heathens why Gothic is the best game ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSc-WRl-0pM Also, I'm waiting to replay Gothic when this mod finishes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUsK1FR041E Gothic is the only game in the series I have trouble replaying. Not only because it crashes almost as frequently as The Elder Scrolls: Arena, but because of the unorthodox controls. Maybe the mod will modernize them? Who knows, I don't speak Nazi (I kid, I kid, I drive an Audi, please don't gas me)
  8. I came to post that same 4k video of Elex that Katphood already posted, but from another source (http://wccftech.com/elex-4k60fps-footage-e3-2017/) I am so getting that. Classic Piranha Bytes (although I did not see any hilarious animations..).
  9. So you want to be able to buy crack, meth, speed, heroin etc. in any store? Anything else is government nannyism?
  10. Oohh, thanks for the tip! Loved the first Watch Dogs but didn't want to pay 60€ for the sequel..
  11. Welp, that's my interest in gaming resurrected! http://wccftech.com/metro-exodus-massive-replayability/ Omg, it's almost like a Stalker reborn!
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWFzWRoVNnE I kind of agree with Linus here. Intel are panicking.
  13. See, this is what surprised me about Fallout 4. I hated it when I first played it, thought it was stupid and simplified and the story (and writing) couldn't hold my interest. But then I noticed I've logged more hours in Fallout 4 than I've done in Fallout: New Vegas (which is one of the best games I've ever played).. and I also noticed that Fallout 4 is a game I can go back to just to fool around in, while Fallout: New Vegas feels finished to me. It's weird like that. I'm guessing it's a bad RPG, a bad Fallout (in my opinion), but a good game.
  14. ELEX is getting released in October. Source: http://wccftech.com/new-4k-elex-screenshots-october-release/
  15. I recently realized that I have Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor in my Steam library, so I fired up that. Aside from not getting it to run at my monitor's default resolution (1440p, running at 1080p for some reason), I'm having a blast trying to learn the combat system and the world. I think I've gotten a hang of it now.. 7 hours in and 0 main missions completed. That's how you know you've created a great game mechanic, when I forget about doing missions because just running around fighting is so damn fun.
  16. Although my phone is only 10 months old (young?) and I'm very happy with it I'm already thinking about upgrading. Why? CHECK THIS OUT!!! *rock music blaring* They're releasing the Xiaomi Mi 6 on April 28!! Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, NFC, IR-blaster, dual camera (f1.8 wide angle and f2.6 2x optical zoom, 12 Mpixel), splash-proof, dual sim, 3350 mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 3.1 etc. I really want a better camera. Everything else is great on my Mi 5 Pro, except the camera. It's good in daylight but becomes useless in low light situations. Read more here: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_6-8507.php
  17. Why has nobody mentioned IGN? *sound of pitchforks gathering in the distance*
  18. I will never touch multi-player games. You're all idiots, stay out of my hobby. I'm not interested in strategy games. Too much like work. Top down (isometric) games of any kind. Holy crap am I tired of them. I was tired of them in the nineties, I'm tired of them now. DIE. ... To be honest, I almost only enjoy open world games where I'm let lose to explore and do my own thing now. Everything else feels too constrained.
  19. For some reason I started playing Titan Quest Anniversary Edition.. why am I like this
  20. The Stalker games are what I would consider RPG's in their purest form (in my opinion, I won't explain). Also the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Stalker 2 is still at the top of my unrealistic wish list.
  21. Really? I've never even seen a 4K Blu-Ray. They don't seem to sell them anywhere in Sweden. Renting stuff has been dead since the nineties..
  22. I'm still on a Xiaomi rush. I'm currently owning a Xiaomi Mi5 Pro (very, very good phone) but I'm thinking about upgrading to the Mi6 anyhow. Just for fun. They are so cheap! I use the 4GB, 128GB ceramic backside Pro version. Only one big flaw: the camera sucks in low light conditions. Otherwise the only flaws I've found are minor bugs in the MIUI OS. They're up to version 8 now. It's still good, just not as good as it used to be compared to vanilla Android. Vanilla has caught up.
  23. Well, Elex had a presentation on Pax East a few days ago, but since no-one here picked up on it I guess I'll do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Saiu5NbvK9A Article: http://wccftech.com/spellforce-3-elex-pax-east-handson/ Looking good to me, despite the Piranha Bytes trademarked animations and (probably) boatloads of bugs.
  24. Apparently the 1700 is the Ryzen to go for, according to Digital Foundry: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-amd-ryzen-7-1700-1700x-vs-1800x-review
