ELEX is getting released in October. Source: http://wccftech.com/new-4k-elex-screenshots-october-release/

I recently realized that I have Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor in my Steam library, so I fired up that. Aside from not getting it to run at my monitor's default resolution (1440p, running at 1080p for some reason), I'm having a blast trying to learn the combat system and the world. I think I've gotten a hang of it now.. 7 hours in and 0 main missions completed. That's how you know you've created a great game mechanic, when I forget about doing missions because just running around fighting is so damn fun.

Although my phone is only 10 months old (young?) and I'm very happy with it I'm already thinking about upgrading. Why? CHECK THIS OUT!!! *rock music blaring* They're releasing the Xiaomi Mi 6 on April 28!! Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, NFC, IR-blaster, dual camera (f1.8 wide angle and f2.6 2x optical zoom, 12 Mpixel), splash-proof, dual sim, 3350 mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 3.1 etc. I really want a better camera. Everything else is great on my Mi 5 Pro, except the camera. It's good in daylight but becomes useless in low light situations. Read more here: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_6-8507.php

Why has nobody mentioned IGN? *sound of pitchforks gathering in the distance*

New/Modern Games You Would Never Touch...
mkreku replied to SonicMage117's topic in Computer and Console
I will never touch multi-player games. You're all idiots, stay out of my hobby. I'm not interested in strategy games. Too much like work. Top down (isometric) games of any kind. Holy crap am I tired of them. I was tired of them in the nineties, I'm tired of them now. DIE. ... To be honest, I almost only enjoy open world games where I'm let lose to explore and do my own thing now. Everything else feels too constrained. -
For some reason I started playing Titan Quest Anniversary Edition.. why am I like this

The Stalker games are what I would consider RPG's in their purest form (in my opinion, I won't explain). Also the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Stalker 2 is still at the top of my unrealistic wish list.
-
Really? I've never even seen a 4K Blu-Ray. They don't seem to sell them anywhere in Sweden. Renting stuff has been dead since the nineties..

I'm still on a Xiaomi rush. I'm currently owning a Xiaomi Mi5 Pro (very, very good phone) but I'm thinking about upgrading to the Mi6 anyhow. Just for fun. They are so cheap! I use the 4GB, 128GB ceramic backside Pro version. Only one big flaw: the camera sucks in low light conditions. Otherwise the only flaws I've found are minor bugs in the MIUI OS. They're up to version 8 now. It's still good, just not as good as it used to be compared to vanilla Android. Vanilla has caught up.

Well, Elex had a presentation on Pax East a few days ago, but since no-one here picked up on it I guess I'll do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Saiu5NbvK9A Article: http://wccftech.com/spellforce-3-elex-pax-east-handson/ Looking good to me, despite the Piranha Bytes trademarked animations and (probably) boatloads of bugs.

Apparently the 1700 is the Ryzen to go for, according to Digital Foundry: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-amd-ryzen-7-1700-1700x-vs-1800x-review

Not exactly news, but.. where else to put it. A love letter to Gothic and Gothic 2's open world design (which I still think is unsurpassed, 14 years later). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVYrALStucs He kind of hits the nail on the head as to why those two games were so good and how brilliantly they used their gameworlds to tell the story.

My Hitachi is much faster than my WD ever was. I am reaching 200+ MB/s transfer speeds when copying files from my SSD to my HD or vice versa. And I just realized I bought this thing in 2015. It was released in 2012.. 5 year old technology! Of course, I am still rocking my 2008 motherboard and my Core i7 970 (6/12 core at 3.5 GHz). Not much has happened in the CPU world since I still have no problem running my games at 2560x1440 at max or near max settings (my 290X just seems to become faster with age).

Time to rein in that hype a little: http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1700x-review-leak-gaming-overclock-benchmarks/ Ryzen 1700x beaten by Intel in almost all gaming scenarios (although they use 2133 MHz RAM on the Ryzen vs 3200 MHz on Intel because early hardware lacked XMP profile support).

I actually went back to Fallout 4 for some reason and noticed that my total playtime in Fallout 4 is inching ever closer to my Fallout: New Vegas playtime! I'm very surprised by that. But I really enjoy just walking around and shooting things since the shooting mechanics are so much better now than in previous Fallout's. And the joy of getting a new gun or a new gun upgrade never seems to get old for me. I had the same joyful experience in the Stalker games (where the only 'leveling' you did was by finding better and better weapons). I guess that's my thing. Speaking of which: I FOUND XENUS 2: WHITE GOLD ON STEAM! AND THE PRECURSORS!! You guys GOT to check them out! They're rough, they're half in Russian (still playable though) and they're AWESOME! Xenus 2 is actually Boiling Point 2 (if anyone here ever played that game with its flying jaguars). The Precursors: http://store.steampowered.com/app/547930/ Xenus 2: White Gold: http://store.steampowered.com/app/546230/ I'm so happy right now!

My Western Digital reached almost exactly half of that before crapping out on me. I'm using a Hitachi now since I've never had to change a Hitachi because of errors, only because of a need for more space.

Gotta love all these little leaks: http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-i7-6900k-gaming-benchmarks/ Also gotta love that they're comparing a 500 dollar CPU to a 1000+ dollar CPU..

Pretty soon we'll get to see what it really is: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-march-launch/ Supposed to be released in March.

I should be excited about Matthews and the Leafs. But I'm not. Whyyy

I almost pooped my pants when the first head popped.

Weird. The Lenovo Thinkpad T460S (1080p, 8GB RAM, Core i5, 256GB SSD) is our company's current standard laptop model. It's clumsy, ugly and soulless. I would never have guessed someone would actually buy one of them voluntarily.

What you're saying here is that you prefer a good game before a bad game. Game length is irrelevant in this argument. Instead, try this: which would you prefer? A 60 hour game that really delivers or a 10 hour game that really delivers?
-
The question is posed wrong. If a game is God's gift to gaming, why would you want it to end after 15 hours? Or 30 hours? If a game is good and can keep my interest, I see no ideal length. The longer the better. ... On a slightly related topic: "I have no time for long games anymore" must be the dumbest argument ever. Do you honestly think ten eight hour long games take less time than one 80 hour game? The only thing that happens is that you have to pay $60 ten times instead of once.

Time's 50 most anticipated games of 2017: http://time.com/4620695/most-anticipated-video-games-2017/ I'm only linking it here because this is the only most anticipated list I've seen that mentions Elex. http://store.steampowered.com/app/411300/
