  1. I tried Paper Mario: A Thousand Year Door. I couldn't get into it either. It's like.. stupid. Plain and simple. I hated the stars system and the crowd and the little twitch moment you have for every round in the combat. I also felt the game wasn't at all as groundbreaking as the first Paper Mario, which was a very innovative game.
  2. Ok, to put it bluntly: who gives a crap if it's a good lineup compared to, say Sega Saturns debut year? Who. Gives. A. Crap? The games are still subpar, with few exceptions, no matter how long the console has been out or whichever other consoles early releases you compare them with. The funnier thing is that you're basically agreeing with me, and you just don't realize it. Why not just say "the lineup is one of the best lineups ever for a console" if you think the games are so damn good right now? Why keep adding "one of" and "for a new console"? Stupid. In about a year from now the price of the console will be lower, the library of games is sure to have some great titles among them and that is when I'll make a decision if I want an Xbox 360, a Playstation 3 or a Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Iii. Edit: Forgot that the other poop-word gets censored..
  3. What are you getting upset about? Selling 5 million units without having a Halo 3 or a GTA to draw in the crowds is a huge sign of strength. But even a fanboi like you have to admit that the line-up of games is pretty weak at the moment..? I mean.. uh.. I can't think of any game on the Xbox 360 that's even close to great status. GRAW and Oblivion are good games, nothing more, nothing less. But then what? I'm not worried though. Xbox 360 doesn't have a real NHL game yet, but NHL 2007 looks awesome, almost making me want one of those ugly little boxes. Mass Effect is coming and I'm sure that will help the RPG side of the console. Forza 2 is probably going to rock the racing scene, as it's looking unbeliebably believable good. Lots of shooters as usual, but still.. the gaming future is looking extremely bright for the Xbox 360.
  4. What surprises me is how good the Xbox 360 is selling, despite having a rather mediocre game library. Let's face it, there are few really good games available for the Xbox 360. I imagine sales picking up even more once the new batch of games gets ready in the autumn. Sony and Playstation 3 sure has their work cut out for them! Although, this is kind of.. surprising: The most preordered item on Webhallen.se is the Playstation 3! More people have preordered the $600 Plyastation 3 than the $30 World of Warcraft expansion..

I'm actually quite happy with my Leafs this off-season. They've adressed some defensive weaknesses, gotten rid of the players I disliked the most (Domi, Berg, Belfour, Allison), lost a few players I wouldn't have mind if they stayed (Lindros.. and.. uh.. ok, that was it) and gotten an overhyped player that doesn't really fit in, as far as I can see (Peca). If we get a speedy scoring winger to play with Sundin I'd almost think this team could be playoff worthy. I don't think that will happen though (getting a winger). Who knows what grand plan Maurice has up his sleeve. Oh yeah, that's another thing that's good for the Leafs: stubborn, cowardly Quinn is gone. The kids will get lots of ice-time this year!
  6. You installed CloneCD "just for laughs"? Does that program come with a built-in little comedian?
  7. Rogue Trooper was actually a good game. If only it had been longer and not quite as easy, it would have rocked. As it stands now it's just a good but short little experience.
  8. I believe their current direct competitor would in fact be DFI. They market themselves in the same (crazy) segment of hardware buyers. MSI doesn't have such a hot marketvalue (in Sweden at least) and ASUS have such a wide array of products that they're not exactly in the same segment either. The expensive ASUS (Deluxe models) is a bit like Abit used to be. I have an Abit motherboard in my own computer and an ASUS in my girlfriends computer. The Abit is much more versatile when it comes to overclocking (and tweaking memory latency) but the ASUS has a MUCH smarter motherboard layout. I recently bought a Zalman fan for my (overclocked) CPU and the damn motherboard is so stupidly built that I had to cut off a big piece of metal from the cooler just to get it to fit.
  9. Yeah, Asus make great hardware. Just remember though: Abit is back in the business. Might be worth waiting to see what the reviews say about their latest offerings too (if you're at all interested in overclocking and performance).
  10. Yeah, that sucked. I saw your link at work (where no videos ever work) So I figured I'd watch it at home. When I got home, it was gone. Damnit.
  11. The main advantage AM2 has over 939 is not only that it's DDR2-compatible, but also because if you buy a huge, expensive AM2-processor now, you can upgrade to a AM3-socket in the future and still keep your old processor for a while. Ok, so that may not be a huge advantage, but if you're like me (who enjoy upgrading your system one piece at a time) it's still an advantage )
  12. The cards have a scratchable area. If you scratch it, you get a code. You enter that code somewhere on the World of Warcraft site, probably on tyhe same page where they keep all your character stats and your name and adress and stuff. It's really easy at least. ANYHOW.. I finished Dreamfall tonight. The ending was incredibly frustrating. If I knew anyone who was even remotely interested, I'd call them up right now and vent about it for an hour or so. But since I don't know anyone interested in computer adventure games, I'll just sit here and rage. On the inside.
  13. I've never understood those speakers that come in packs of.. 6? Where do you put them all? "I think I'll put a drove over here.. and a bundle over there.. the last horde goes under the desk". I barely have room for two speakers on my desk.
  14. We should have waited for the next car. I am sure it would have been a tour bus full of bikini clad ladies.
  15. I agree when it comes to the shoot'em up mini-game in Jade Empire: that's the lamest mini-game I have ever seen in a RPG. But I also like certain mini-games. Like the lockpicking mini-game in Dungeon Lords. It had you thinking and reacting, but it was entirely dependant on your character's lockpicking skills. I liked it, even if that, too, was flawed (like the rest of the game).
  16. I once saw a miniature tornado suck up a pile of leaves next to my school. That's about as bad as weather gets in Sweden. WE'RE BOXY BUT WE'RE SAFE.
  17. For the first time? (w00t) Yes. Two links: http://shtup.home.att.net/ and http://www.strangebedfellows.schwarzsilber.../topic,8.0.html Both mods are well worth getting. Higher resolution textures and higher polygon models. Excellent work that doesn't alter the original game, it only improves upon it.
  18. You know you're a blatant Bio fanboi when you write crap like this.

You know Belfour's been bad when you get a new goalkeeper that hasn't managed to hold onto his job for the past three seasons.. and you still think it's an improvement. Andrew Raycroft who? No matter, a hotdog salesman from the stands would probably have been an improvement over last year! )
  20. I just wobble slowly from side to side.. occasionally I throw up all over myself. That works wonders with the girls.
  21. I'm actually trying to play through Dreamfall right now. I never had the time to finish it when I reviewed it so that's what I am doing now. That game is oh so pretty, but way too easy. I haven't gotten stuck once yet. The only reason why I'm not just breezing through the game is because my computer is acting up. It works really well when I'm just surfing around, watching movies and listening to music. But when I start a game, especially something very taxing for the system, the entire computer inevitably crashes within 5-10 minutes. And not ordinary crashes to desktop. No, it's a *BLAM* in the speakers, harddrives abruptly stop and the entire computer comes to a screeching halt. Then, a split second later, the bios pops up as if nothing had happened and the computer reboots normally without any complaints. I'm pretty certain this has to do with my PSU not being powerful enough to support my 8 fans, two harddrives, floppy, DVD-burner, 3200 MHz CPU and my Geforce 7800 GS (overclocked) at the same time.. It's only 350W. At least, that's what I hope is the problem, as I already ordered a 550W replacement PSU.
  22. A dog poo makes Pentium D (Netburst architecture) look like a huge pile of electronic crap.
  23. Oh! Sorry. Got him confused with Lou, perhaps. Carry on!
  24. Private Eye's never drive vans (except if you're Mr T and so tough noone dares laugh at you). Jump out of the way of the van and wait for something a bit more pimpin'. B.
