  1. I was going to write a long, thoroughly mocking post about the stupidity of even noticing that one Deathclaw has scales, another hair and the third feathers.. when I suddenly remembered how pissed I was when I found out that they completely changed the look, shape and canon of the orcs in Gothic 3. I'll just crawl back under my rock now
  2. Are they slowly turning Oblivion into some sort of porn simulator..?
  3. Too late. That skillful write-up made me go and pre-order STALKER on a whim :'( Hey, it only cost me 60
  4. Oh crap, now I'm looking forward to STALKER even more: "Start thinking of it as a kinky radioactive threesome between Far Cry and Deus Ex, with a smidgeon of Oblivion's RPG trimmings, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what's coming your way in March." This sounds too good to be true! Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=72636
  5. Least restrictions, lowest crime. But actually, this really needs to break down further to be useful. States do not ban handguns, counties and cities do. Broward County Florida has the toughest gun restrictions and the highest violent crime rate. And it is increasing as opposed to the majority of the rest of the state. See my previous post for the link. Maine: 109.6 #%&*, FC required for rifle purchase Nope, Maine has it beat. Lots of restrictions. It really doesn't matter in the USA anyhow anymore. Why? Because you have millions of weapons on the loose. That is the big difference between Sweden and USA. Once you have polluted your society with more guns than there are people, gun laws will have zero to none effect. Just like in any other war zone on earth.
  6. Because coding and reviewing doesn't exactly have anything to do with each other?
  7. So I guess by handing out a gun to every man, woman and child in the world, violent crime would cease to exist!! You can show exactly WHATEVER you want with statistics (especially if you only factor in what you want the numbers to tell), but the point is still standing: if you don't have a gun, you're less likely to shoot someone. And what would you do if someone broke into your house and you had access to a gun? You'd immediately draw it, roll out into the living room, take out one crook from the hip, dive behind the couch and shoot the next intruder right between the eyes? I'm sure you would. Weapons only help escalate dangerous situations, they are not the solution to the problem.
  8. I love when you write stuff that clearly shows your ignorance without me helping you. From your link: "In 2003, there were 189 homicides in Sweden." We had 189 homicides in the entire country during a full year. Of those, I bet most were done by car, using a knife or a husband beating his wife to death. Those are the most common types of crime in Sweden (with lots of alcohol involved). According to the same link, Swedes have a 0.5% risk of being mugged. The equivalent for the US is 1.3%. Almost three times higher. Remember, this is a contact crime, which is where the use of a weapon is the most common. The same link also provides us with another valuable statistic: 2 homicides per 100,000 capita in Sweden. 6 homicides per 100,000 capita in the USA. Sweden had 189 homicides. USA had (roughly) 16500. Basically, all that link you provided showed was that Sweden has a normal crime rate but a low homicide rate, which indicates that with more guns comes more deadly violence, which is exactly what I said in my first post. You know, the one you failed to comprehend. Another thing you fail to understand is that anyone (without a criminal record) is free to get a gun in Sweden. They just don't hand them out like candy like in the USA. People here just aren't living under the false impression that more guns = less crime. Or, in your case, I have a gun = I have a ****.

    NHL

Yeah.. and that's like.. 2 games per season.
  10. http://mv.cgcommunity.com/ This guy is gooood.
  11. Pathetic. Grow a **** instead. Besides, no matter how much localized propaganda you find on the NRA site, the fact remains: the more guns, the more violent crimes. Sweden has very strict weapon laws. Sweden also has one of the world's lowest gun related deaths in the world. On the opposite end: USA. USA has sloppy gun control laws and the USA also has more gun related deaths than some countries that are currently at war. But I bet that's a coincidence. Guns stop crime almost as effective as the death penalty. In other words: not at all.

Sheldon Souray (I think?) speared Crosby after a face-off and Cherry defended Souray by saying "he pushed him". That was NOT a push. Then Cherry took an example of Sundin pushing a guy away from the puck using his hands as an example of the spearing being a completely ordinary situation that every face-off man uses. I don't really care if Crosby fell like a dying swan, it was still spearing.

The Leafs won their fourth in a row! Albeit in overtime, but still! Two points is two points and I'll take it any way I can. Seriously, on away ice in Ottawa.. last season we ended up with 8 goals against in every second game against them.. And Cherry is an idiot. YOU DON'T PUSH A GUY WITH THE BUTT END OF YOUR STICK! He compared it to a face-off where Sundin pushed away his guy using his gloves.. Like that would prove anything. Pushing with the end of your stick and pushing with your gloves are to separate entities.

So.. Both of your teams lost tonite? GO LEAFS GO! (three wins in a row, baby!)
  15. STALKER has climbed back up to the top spot on my wish list. That game has a strange hold on me. I wonder why. Also, Rogue Galaxy should be out any.. month now. Looking forward to that a lot. It's made by the guys behind Dragon Quest 8.
  16. I have no idea what happened..
  17. Eurogamer also played the demo it seems: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=72517 Sounds great so far.
  18. I use Notepad++ for my C++. But I kind of suck at programming.
  19. This was news to me: the Playstation 3 does indeed have a very secret hardware scaler! Apparently it's just their SDK that's not up to snuff. Yet. http://www.beyond3d.com/articles/ps3scaler/
  20. New trailer that I think looks absolutely fantastic: http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?play...id=1955&s=l Damn you, German guys, for making me want DirectX 10
  21. I've only played Dragon Warrior 1 and 2, so I don't really have much to compare to (they were basically clones of Final Fantasy), but the thing that grabbed me by my hairy balls was the story. And it just wouldn't let go!! Also, the world is huge, beautiful and you're free to explore it to your heart's content. The game is extremely polished. One BIG warning though: If you can't stand ridiculous amounts of difficult random encounters, this game is not for you!

Woohoo, what a great win against the New York Divas! Yeah, blame the refs, Shanahan. Real classy.
  23. I am getting this. Together with Final Fantasy XII and Rogue Galaxy. And perhaps Okami. No need for next-gen just yet.

Can't complain. An away win against the Hurricanes is nothing to sneer about. Just keep this positive trend going and we'll make the play-offs. It feels like they have a team worthy of being in the play-offs but they have to consistently show it on the ice too. GO LEAFS GO!
  25. Geez, meta, uncompressed PNG?! What are you, a coder or something? Never heard of compression techniques?
