Oh crap. I'm ambivalent about this. I don't like episodic gaming at all (Just look at the Half-Life 2 debacle.. one episode every 8 months or so? Ridiculous!) but I'm really glad that they'll be able to finish the story eventually. I hated the ending of Dreamfall because it was so inconclusive. Maybe now we'll finally see what it all means. Oh, and let's hope they remove the dreadful combat and action sequences from these episodes.

Another game I'm looking forward to (a little bit at least..) is Bioshock. It was recently given a release date, namely August 21st. Long wait.

Report: Man dies after 'marathon' online session
mkreku replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
Back in the mid-nineties, when the Internet was still young, I discovered Multi User Dungeons, more commonly known as the abbreviation MUD. I started playing on a MUD called Valhalla (which is dead now) and after a few years I moved on to Medievia. When I played Medievia I used to start playing at about 10 in the morning, play throughout the whole day (with the occasional soda purchase break for 30 seconds every now and then), play through the night and still be sitting there at 10 in the morning the next day. I'm guessing I've had ~30 hours sessions at one time. The thing is that I didn't have a computer back then, so I'd do this sitting in the University computer labs! I had to hide from security guards during nights and when morning came, I had to pretend like I had just arrived there when the other students came. I kind of miss those days. I was pretty good at that game and I miss being a top player in a cyber world sometimes. I vaguely remember having something like 4500+ player kills, but they reset those numbers a few years after I stopped playing. -

Mostly from Hockey's Future boards and Swedish magazines. I just dig up everything I can find whenever I am bored at work.. There was an "article" (more like a blog post, but from a well-known sports journalist) I read today that listed everything that's wrong with the Rangers, and he laid (almost) all the blame on Jagr, despite him putting up his usual impressive numbers.

I know I go on and on about Deep Shadows and Boiling Point 2/The Precursors, but I just found this great gameplay video from Boiling Point 2. Actually, the game called White Gold, but still.. Check it out! It looks like a more advanced version of Boiling Point, which is a good thing! And in which other game have you ever seen anyone ride a shark?! Awesomeness. http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=2202

By the way, what is the situation with Jagr and the Rangers? He's the captain of the team, yet he refuses to take penalty shots? He's also whining more than ever at teammates and referees alike. The Rangers are playing even crappier hockey than the Leafs..? And I've heard rumours that they've been trying to trade Jagr, but that can't be true. Can it?

Because that's when my friends are having their winter break! We're getting a car and we're supposed to be driving around all of Australia in five or so weeks.
-
I thought this was pretty funny. "Going down in style", so to speak.

This has nothing to do with football, but I couldn't help notice that you're from Perth. I'm landing in Perth on June 20'th, and I'll be spending three days there just sightseeing the town, before moving on to the rest of Australia. You need to recommend the hot spots in Perth! I viewed the town in Google Maps so I know it's huge and you guys have more golf courts in your town than I think Sweden has in the entire country. But I am no golf freak. So what would you recommend a Swedish guy to do in Perth for three days? Do you have girls down there..?

But for once we have an overabundance of young d-men that I am sure could bring in some quite good players. We need a scoring winger! We've needed that for the last 8 years or so (or for how long Sundin has been captain..). I don't think Yannic Perrault is the solution that will bring us into the play-offs.
-
ARGH PERRAULT AGAIN!! Like that's going to help. Why can't the Leafs ever get a Guerin.. or Tkachuk.. or Forsberg.. or a Smyth.. No, we get Yannic Perrault. ****!

What the.. And the Leafs actually lose games to these teams

My "hot wine-drunk female friends" idea wasn't in the list :'(

If you want to be the coolest kid on the block, you'd take something like a chainsaw and turn it into a coin bank. The fun part starts when you're carrying that thing to the bank to deposit your money..

Hey, I thought both this and Dragon Age was vaporware, and I didn't take a break from the Internet. I'm glad they're both ongoing projects. -
Don't you have like.. uhm.. a couple of hot female friends.. and a few bottles of wine.. and.. uh.. nevermind.
-
And the Leafs are paralyzed come trade deadline.. as usual. Watch them spend their youth, their top picks for the next five years and their momma's house to get a has-been that conveniently retires with a $3 million salary after ten games with the Leafs. I bet they'll make a panic trade just at the deadline for.. Gary Roberts (again!) just to make it seem like they're active and "happening". More dead weight for the captain to carry on his back.

One of the games I picked up to play because the thread about unfinished games made me feel guilty.. especially seeing as it's only around 15-20 hours long.

Have you ever seen two small children play? When they're at that age when they haven't yet fully grasped the language and lack vital aspects of the vocabulary? They are so slick and imaginative about it, they just don't let lack of words stop them from playing. If they play with something they don't know what it's called, they immediately come up with their own word for it, and the group quickly accepts it as the norm. It's amazing, how easy it is for the human brain to understand, learn and even create a language. I'm guessing that's how bad words (and all words) are created. Besides, it would be fun to see some statistics about how many words are onomatopoeic in origin. We're like parrots.

Notch up another win for the unbeatable Leafs! This time against the fearsome mighty Flyers. That makes it the Leafs second win in seven tries! Oh yes sir! We're on the highway to the play-offs!

Woah, I have to admit I was silently laughing with Diamond, but fortunately I never joined in the laughter officially by posting about it. But who thought they'd bring DirectX 10 to AGP? Nice one though.

I've personally never been a fan of "fat loot". I think it's much more satisfying to get those incredibly rare upgrades from time to time. I loved how, if you were a thorough enough explorer, in Gothic 2 you could find all sorts of rare and unique weapons hidden around the world. That's what I want from a game. I'm also sick and tired of having levels and experience that turns you from rat fodder to dragon slayer in a few levels. What the hell did you start out as, if a rat can beat the living crap out of you? And what are you at the end, when you can solo that 20 ton dragon? I vastly prefer systems where you start out as a human being and the "levels" (or whatever it is that makes you progress) make you better, but not super-human. More like a trained human. I'm hoping that's the feeling I'll get from STALKER. -
