Well, actually.. I did find ALL the mini medals myself. I won all the arena fights. I even made all the most powerful weapons in the alchemy pot. But you say you're a complete-ist? You will regret saying that after you've "finished" the game (the main story)!! TRUST ME! I will hold you to your word and haunt you throughout Turkey if you try to escape! You mean this? *EVIL GIGGLE* I rule.

I'm pretty stoked about this! Awesome video and they've FINALLY adopted a more realistic look to the games. Of course, that might negatively affect the over-the-top violence in a bad way (as now it'll look horrible instead of comical). But I can't wait to see what Rockstar are cooking up in New York for us to play with. They are so incredibly good at creating believable worlds, huge yet brimful with detail, hidden stuff and just things to keep you occupied with. I've probably spent more time in GTA: San Andreas just driving/flying around admiring the scenery and looking for new secrets than I spend in most regular games.. even when I play them from start to finish! I've only finished Vice City and San Andreas. I never liked the 2D renditions of GTA and GTAIII was too difficult for me. I always get stuck somewhere (can't remember exactly where now) and give up.

Crap. We lost to Atlanta. Now we have to win against Pittsburgh. Easier said than done. I was hoping we'd be able to beat Atlanta, but my hopes are slimmer against red hot Pittsburgh. Still, all is not lost yet. GO LEAFS GO!

MWAHAHAHA! It is well worth it. The (paper) map alone is worth it. Love the metal box too! -
Best game EVER!! Well.. almost. Did you do both endings? I actually enjoyed the alternative ending more..

Yeah, why does ones old posts become un-editable after a while? I just noticed that one of the games I'm looking forward to is called Space Force: Rogue Universe and not Rogue Galaxy (like I accidentally called it in a post above).. metadigital, heeeelp!
-
Space Force: Rogue Universe Genre: Space Sim/RPG hybrid Platform: PC Rating: N/A Why is this worth looking forward to?: A huge open-ended universe, lots of trading, exploring, fighting and over 2000+ quests to solve. If it's even half as good as it sounds, it might be the Elite type of game I've been looking for since.. well, Elite. I'm holding my thumbs! (Game title is clickable)

I thought this was kind of funny: GO LEAFS GO!! On the other side of the fence: Uhm.. Edmonton.. Source: http://www.thehockeynews.com/en/news/news.asp?idNews=24100

Well, we're facing Atlanta (on away ice) and Pittsburgh (at home) for our next two games. Not exactly teams to sneer at either. I have a feeling we'll lose both.

Not entirely sure, but.. -
White Gold (Boiling Point 2) Genre: FPS/RPG hybrid Platform: PC Rating: Mature (probably) Why is this worth looking forward to?: Saul is back! And this time he might even be bug-free! Boiling Point was an extremely ambitious game that didn't quite manage to do all the things it wanted to do as good as it could have. But with White Gold the happy chaps over at Ukrainian based Deep Shadows are getting a second chance. And with a little luck they'll nail it this time, with better driving physics, less jerky world, better game balancing and a lot fewer bugs.

Ah. Well, good luck then. I'm a games journalist. I review games, I don't report the news. All I have is a (somewhat educated) opinion which I try to convey as objectively as possible to the readers of our site. Sometimes it doesn't work and we make mistakes. It was probably a mistake to let me review Gothic 2 (which is the reason I turned down Gothic 2 Gold and Gothic 3..), just as it was giving Zelda: The Wind Waker to our biggest Zelda fan (he scored it 98/100 back when we had that scale). Do you think Eurogamer are proud of the fact that they scored Oblivion 10/10 right now? Or do you think there's not a single reviewer in the world going "Hey, Gears of War.. maybe it wasn't The Holy Grail Of All Gaming after all?" right now? We offer opinions, not fact. We're not trying to convince anyone that we're right, we're merely trying to convey a sense of what the product is about so that the reader can make up his own mind about whether or not the title in question is for him/her, without having to spend 50

I honestly have no idea what you're on about. Yes, I have double standards when it comes to the Gothic series. And? What's your point?

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: The Shivering Isles review
mkreku replied to Meshugger's topic in Computer and Console
It's weird. When I played Oblivion I loved it, despite every dungeon being the same and the levels becoming useless after a while. But now, when this expansion comes out, I just don't see myself returning to Oblivion. It's like the flaws of the game were too great for me to ever bother with it again, even though I liked the game while I was playing it. Like I said, weird. -
What a wonderful day! These last few days have been warm and sunny in Sweden. In fact, in some places in Sweden it hasn't been this warm since they started measuring temperatures in 1834! Anyhow, yesterday I got a link sent to me from a friend who knows I'm in the search for a new digital camera. He had spotted a review of the one I've been eyeing for a while. It's kind of new and the first reviews of it are just now popping up all over the Internet. Anyhow, me and my cousin went to the local Panasonic retailer and checked it out. It was totally awesome and we were both impressed as hell by it, but I won't be needing it until June so I'm trying to keep myself from buying it already (it's always $50 more expensive in the first month). Then we ate lunch together, sitting down by the river that runs through Uppsala. Lots of pretty girls enjoying the sun, good food and a couple of rays. If I had had a beer it would have been perfect. It was awesome anyhow. Now I'm sitting here at work, reminiscing about the d

Yes. What's the problem? I'm not playing this for review purposes. I bought this (Collector's Edition) because I want to support Piranha Bytes no matter what. But I also realize they have a really bad track record when it comes to bugs and unfinished games, so I decided to wait for a few patches before (possibly) ruining the experience for myself by playing a game that's not finished. Time to wait is usually a luxury I don't have.

So.. Tampa lost (which is good), Rangers lost (which is good too, even though it irks me that Renney replaced Lundquist) but Montreal won (which is bad) so the Leafs hunt (we won over Carolina, which is GOOD!!) is still two points shy of a playoff berth. We're very much in the race though. We've been playing well lately and if we can keep this up (and Tampa, Rangers or Montreal slips up) we're in. GO LEAFS GO!
-
I still haven't touched it. By now I'm almost afraid of it. No matter what, it feels like I am in for a huge disappointment. But I will wait for the next patch and then I'll bite the sour grapes.

Apparently a patch has been released for STALKER: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=41711 Not sure if I want it though. It fixes a lot of minor bugs, but it also makes old savegames incompatible. Not good. -
My day just took a turn for the worse: my favourite pen stopped working!! Here I was, idling away time at work, when I noticed a heavy presence of gravel in the soles of my shoes. For some unexplained reason I felt that I just had to get rid of them. All of them. One by one. So I reached after something sharp, and the first thing that my hand managed to grab was my favourite pen. After 30 minutes of vigorous sole stabbing I was done. My life felt complete. Until I had to sign off on some papers.. I went to the office storage, but they have replaced my beautiful metal pen model with cheaper plastic models! I can't even get a new one! The panic is near.

I thought the idea sounded excellent, but I imagine it would be incredibly difficult to pull it off. The entire game would play out as a series of friendly/unfriendly encounters between the 100 NPC's trapped on the island, so there would be no story. There would only be socializing and combat. But it would be really neat trying to make friends and allies among 100 people that are all out to kill you. If only 90 has to die, you might get lucky and choose the 10 that survives as your friends.. or one could turn against you at any time.. or betray you.. sell you out. The possibilities are endless. There would have to be an awful lot of (incredibly well-written) dialogue for you to be able to "bond" with the NPC's, or else you'd just do a Krookie (kill them all within the first hour). Also, you'd have to present the player with powerful incentives for letting some of the NPC's live (the ones you're going to try to befriend), like them knowing the location of a forgotten hunter's cabin or something. Or that each and everyone of the NPC's has some vital, unique skills that you could take advantage of.. Oh, and for all the non-believers of decent AI: buy STALKER.

Today will be a good day. I have a slight problem with my ISP (they don't allow online gaming anymore!) but it doesn't look like they care very much during non office hours. So last night I was up until 03.30 in the morning playing Test Drive Unlimited. Now I'm at work (which is ok), but after work me and my cousin are driving into Stockholm to watch Brazil - Ghana duke it out in a football game! Also, they've promised one of the hottest March days since they started doing measurements in the year 1830 (or something). TODAY WILL BE A GOOD DAY!

How can you call STALKER a grindfest when there's no xp or levels to be gained? Just run past everything you don't want to meet. STALKER isn't meant to be played like a mainstream Bioware please-hold-my-hand-all-the-way game.
